Planning to work/shoot The Buckeye Blast in May this year, it's staff reset. I'll report back on my impressions.

IPSC has done separate reset vs RO staff at majors for quite a while that I remember.  Combined with hand signals and multiple scoring ROs, it makes turn time very fast, but the down side is the shooter can't see every target as it's scored and you can't hear the calls, so you need a delegate to check the targets you can't and halt the pasting process if needed.

Just throwing out ideas is all. Not necessarily things I believe in or think will work.

 

Make working lvl2 and higher matches worth more than they are... guaranteed nats slot? Free year uspsa membership?

That's a point that many seem to miss

 

I know for a fact that some staff reset matches have three categories of staff:

1. CROs and ROs that will shoot match
2. Non CRO/RO staff that will shoot the match
3. Non CRO/RO staff that will not shoot the match

And maybe even a fourth: CRO/RO staff that will not shoot the match

 

People in the 3rd and 4th categories won't show up in Practiscore so the total staff per stage is likely to be higher than what it seems.
