Classifiers Awaiting Processing For Two Months

North

I think I'm moving up to B-class, but I don't know for sure becouse my local club hasn't paid USPSA for two months. My September and October classifiers are awaiting processing, shoot dates of 25 September and 23 October. Plenty of time to even send in a check; I can sort of understand October not making it, but september come on.

I get discouraged when it takes a long time for classifiers to post, too. Last time it was a problem at USPSA but they finally made it into the update this month.

USPSA "clears their charts" on the 10th of every month, which is why classifiers are posted a few days after that. If a classifer and payment arrive at HQ by the 10th, and the data is good (member number matches name, sane score) it's in that monthly update.

If you club uses the on-line upload system, you can track the process from the instant your club uploads data - you can see it transition from "uploaded" to "paid" to "processed" - visit www.uspsa.org/classifier_services.

ditto, I'm sitting at like 58.9% and I would love to know if B class is here, or if I am waiting for next year.

Did you know that you can see where your hit factor measures up as a classifier percentage by going here. You can then at least know (roughly) if your classifiers will make the grade for you.

Yea, I know, several buddies have offered to figure it out for me too. I am not the type of person who can ever remember my times/scores and I am too lazy to ask an RO to find my score sheets 10 mins after I sign it when I finally find a pen. It isnt a huge deal and I usually just rely on clubs being timely in respect tp submitting scores, but 1 club in particular is starting to irritate me.

Rob,

I know; my classifiers have been uploaded to USPSA one since 10 Oct and the other since 27 Oct. USPSA just has not recieved payment from my local club, and there for has not posted the classifiers to the shooters %.

That what I'm ticked about, my scores are at USPSA, but not processed yet. Acording to my calculations I will be either the lowest "B" or the highest "C"; just depends on how USPSA rounds the numbers.

Most of the local clubs are hot to get the results posted the next day and certainly within a couple of days of the shoot's completion. There was one club that the results never make it to their web site until just before the next shoot a month later. I don't shoot there anymore.

On USPSA not posting classifier results that I know have been uploaded right away. It happens. I think that they were worse a number of months ago. Things were two months on average for a while. They seem to have gotten better lately for me.

If you encounter a situation where classifiers have been upload on-line, and paid for by the 10th, but don't make into that month's updates let me know ASAP. If I get information in a timely manner, I can investigate and find out what the problem is.

Thanks for the offer of help Rob. Like I said things are better these days, I think they were just overloaded for a while. What a nice touch to offer to help. You don't see that everyday with all organizations. ;)

  • 4 weeks later...

Maybe the stat person is like those in most clubs, burned out, over worked & underpaid voulenters who are doing the best they can. Things like submitting classifiers, finding the treasurer to write the check to USPSA etc. might go a lot smoother if more people stepped up and helped out

Not a rebuttal but a suggestion:

Have your stats person get a debit/check card with the clubs account.

I usually complete the scoring one and no more than two days after a match. I wait til Monday and send the classifier in electronically and pay for it via a check card.

I get confirmation on Tuesday and the actual classifer hit factors back on Wed. or Thursday.

It seems to keep everyone happy and involves less paper work.

Just a suggestion for you to offer to the stats folks.

Congrats North

Maybe" North " you will help as one of the voulenters? B)

Our club host their matches on the second Sunday of the month. This is usually right around the 10th, give or take a day. I do the scores as soon as I get home from the match, send everything to USPSA via the computer. charge it to my personal credit card. The guys not only have the match results that night, normally by the next friday they know how they did on the classifier. When I get the CC bill in the mail I then get a check from the gun club to reimburse myself. I would not shoot at a club that did not get the results into Sedro on time.

I am one of the "voulenters" I show to set up the day prior and stick around to tear tear down. But it seems that the USPSA portion of the club just isn't that important to the cowboy action administration at our club.

This is from our newsletter

"USPSA

"...A few people have asked about the classifiers not being posted in a timely manner on the USPSA web site. The scores of a match have been sent to HQ usually within the week of the respective match. Then an e-mail is sent to the treasurer with the fee amount due. A club check is then mailed out and it depends if the check clears in time before the next USPSA update. Sometimes we make it, sometimes we don't...."

And sometimes I have to wait 3 months for my score to posted, We just had our election for 2006 and the cowboy action crowd won again. We have great Matches plenty of turn out, usually around 25 to 30 folks everyone is great. But we have to rely on the non-USPSA people to pay USPSA. The scores get to USPSA on time, but the check never does.

If this crap keeps up, I will start traveling the 70 miles to the next closest Club.

You can shoot a match on the morning of the 10th and if your stats person is quick, get the scores in that night so they post in the same month. Several clubs in my area do it the old fashoned way..sending a check into Sedro.

Part of the problem might be the "I don't give out my credit card numbers to anyone especially the internet".

For the 3-4 years our club has been submitting classifiers via the website, there has not been a single problem. Paying online saves postage fees too.

+1 on the uploading the same day as the match.

Nothing makes me cackle more than someone saying that but have no problem giving some $5/hr shmuck their CC# over a cordless telephone to order their vitamins so he can write it down and order PPV porn with it later.
