Question about original boxes of guns

Recommended Posts

I can't keep track of all my guns, much less the damn boxes.

I think I have the box for the last pistol I bought about a year ago-

and I distinctly remember seeing the box for my 1st pistol a few

years ago (Ruger Single Six .22 revolver - bought in 1963) ...

But, not sure where that is now....

Do you guys keep them?  I would understand if the case is a tanfo/fancy; but the boxes of glocks, cz, xd, etc.—???  Thanks for the input.

Guns with the original box and paperwork appeal more to buyers than guns without those items.

Agreed. The boxes live in the attic for the day I might sell the gun.

Ditto, in the attic above the garage, not sure I want to go digging for a particular box anytime soon but they are there.  God save me if we move!

I'm a pack rat... keep them  if you can. Make your kids clean out the crap after you die !

There you go.

I tend to keep mine, but always question if it's worthwhile, especially for the run-of-the-mill guns that won't have collectible value.    The boxes are generally useless for guns that get used; factory boxes take up too much room in the safe, and some (I'm looking at you, S&W) take too much fiddling to get the gun in and out on a regular basis.
