JAB
Ok id like to know if there anyway of making a 4" barrel longer I have heard of guys putting a sleeve in the barrel to make it longer not sure what that means or how is it done reason Im asking is it might be cheaper to do that then finding a longer barrel and having it instled. PatJones
Nope. Get another barrel. If it's a common revolver, it can be cheaper to sell yours and buy one in the configuration you prefer.
alecmc
Your best option would be to sell the 4 inch and buy a 6 " /8" whatever you want, or - if you're really attached to that particular gun, A new barrel can be had. But, the cost of barrel + install costs would probably be more $$ than just selling and rebuying. Edited April 13, 2016 by alecmc
COF
I bought a 5" 625 barrel from MidwayUSA and had my gunsmith install it. Cost me less than $250 for the whole thing. Of course, I realize that these are relegated to antique status now...
Jim Watson
Are you trying to get over the Canadian minimum 105 mm or do you want a substantially longer barrel for balance, sight radius, or velocity? If you are trying to meet Canadian legal limits, is it acceptable to permanently attach an extension as seen here with 14.5" M4s pieced out to 16" or the 1950s muzzle nozzles put on Swedish M94 carbines to get them from 17.7" to 18"? RePete
Sleeving isn't legal in Canada and hasn't been since they reversed the decision on the M1 Carbine. You will need to get a 5 or 6" barrel and have it installed. Good luck finding one, because most, if not all, were snatched up after 1994 when 4" became prohib ststus and you needed a 12/6 PAL. I couldn't find a 5 or 6" K-Frame barrel after looking for 3 years.
TonytheTiger
Have you tried Viagra? I would try that before anything drastic like surgery.
RePete
Have you tried Viagra? I would try that before anything drastic like surgery. A female doctor told me that Viagra was the over nighter, and Cialis was the weekender. You need it as long as possible.
warpspeed
Clark Custom use to sell / install aftermarket 38 barrels for S&W revolvers. not sure if the still do. Al's custom shows them as well http://www.alscustom.com/revolvers.php
Carmoney
Apex does barrel work. Just Google the word "Carmonize" and it will take you straight to their website!
wheelie66
Another option is buy the tools and install a Douglas barrel yourself. I did and never looked back.
314shane
Viagra and Cialis get your barrel pointed up and make it run a little longer. Not sure if those companies are giving a guarantee on extending the legenth? For that your going to need one of those supplements advertised on late night tv by Ron Jeremy. Seriously though getting a different gun is probably cheaper but there are plenty of smiths out there that will install a longer barrel for you. P.s. Don't ask how I know about Viagra and Cialis. Revofan
Clark customs does install custom barrels. they are putting a 6" slab side on my 4" 627 now. but that and a trigger action job cost as much as a brandy new one. So it's all up to what direction you want to go I guess

RePete
I have a crane stretcher, but not a barrel one. You stretch a 38 barrel, it becomes a 22 cal barrel.
