1eyedfatman
I have a CZ 75 Custom Shadow. It came with the black metal grips with that little bit of tape in one area. They are nice and slim, but also very smooth and not grippy. What do you guys recommend for grip change out? I've looked at the hogue wrap-around rubber grips with the finger grooves, but not everyone seems happy with those and they seem difficult to install. There are the VZ grips which are pricing at $75, but look high quality. VZ makes different textures to choose from also so which one is best. I use the pistol for competition…IDPA, USPSA, Steel, etc.

Andreas
I have VZ Diamondback grips on both my competition and carry CZs. They're adequately grippy even after smoothing out with use. The Frag pattern is next to useless. The Tactical Diamonds are marginal.
1eyedfatman
Very nice looking. So its VZ Diamondbacks. Now which color. I'm thinking Black Desert Sand.

1eyedfatman
Do you have a link for the CZC lemon graters? On the VZ on second thought…maybe the Hyena Brown or Dirty Olive. I'm kinda conservative in my colors.

emjei
Bothers you aesthetically or functionally? I have yet to notice it with my hands. The picture was posted by another member but in my case since I grip very hard it pinches my hand ......with VZ problem solvedAlso VZs are thicker ....and I have medium hands
TonytheTiger
I see. Each to his own. That's the problem with grip opinions, everyone's hands are different and you pretty much have to try them yourself before you know what you like. tbarker13
I just tried out several different grips on my SPO1 Shadow. The ones I think I have settled on are the thick aluminum Double Alpha Grips. These pewter colored aluminum grips are thinner, but still nice. And I just sent a set of VZ grips back to VZ. Just a little too thin for my tastes.
andrewtac
Anyone compare the DA and lemon graters? On glocks I run the largest back strap, so will want thick grips. Also I want something aggressive, how does grip tape compare to a pattern?
motosapiens
I have a CZ 75 Custom Shadow. It came with the black metal grips with that little bit of tape in one area. They are nice and slim, but also very smooth and not grippy. you can put more tape on them. That's what I would do. I would trade you some vz diamondbacks for your metal grips but I loaned them to a friend while I was thinking about what grips to use. I personally like grip tape, so I sanded down the stock plastic grips (after filling them with epoxy) and covered them with grip tape. The vz's are nice too, but I prefer griptape. emjei
I honestly think that the material used in the VZ grips are better grip than aluminum
mrpredictable
I put some copper gun grips on mine. It's a lava rock texture that is similar to grip tape in grippiness. They are formed on plastic so they are lighter and quite a bit cheaper but they don't feel quite as solid as the metal ones.
MRevolutionIX
I wanted to use the thickest grips available and went with the DAA grips. I felt it lacked the traction I was hoping for so I applied grip tape with glue to them.
Jayohee
I like the tactical diamonds by VZ: http://www.amazon.com/VZ-Grips-Tactical-Diamonds-Compact/dp/B00695FXCK/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1416008171&sr=8-4&keywords=cz+75+grips+vz Very durable and SUPER-aggressive.
