I called Hodgdon inquiring about Clays and 147's

I was to No, do not do it.

There are loads listed for 124/5's on their website

There are plenty of us running 147gr over Clays. 124gr is another story.

I love Clays! It's more predictable and consistent with lighter bullets because there's less pressure so I load it with 135s for minor and 115s for steel. The only pressure issues I've run into was with 147s loaded short: it got really inconsistent shot to shot "bang, bang, boom, bang, pop".

If you were in the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area, I'd trade you some n320.

Based on another thread, it's shippable

I need to get rid of it.

Sure, you just need to be a certified hazmat shipper or access to one. Good luck with that.

I bought an 8# jug of Clay Dot a couple of weeks ago. It yielded the exact same velocities as Clays. The only difference I see is the occasional red flake. Pressure spikes mean nothing at a 130PF.

one of the RO here told me the charge is too low so I'm going to try 3.4 gr and 3.6 gr. of clays. BTW I tried 3.2 still same effect. case got stuck when eject

Are you using a chrono?

I'm not in favor of jacking up the charge to get the gun to run, a lighter recoil spring should do it for you.
