Another vote for Ohio.

Get a CCW AND DON't worry about mags etc.

Lots of shooting, and one of the best match directors on the face of the earth!

Lot's of great schools to include THE Ohio state university

Well, there is the 30 round limit Sarge. When I wanted to purchase 32 round mags, for an old military weapon, I had to . . . umm . . . never mind :D

The Texas (TX) state sales tax rate is currently 6.25%. Depending on local municipalities, the total tax rate can be as high as 8.25%.

At the local levels, city taxes can range from .25% – 2%; county rates vary from .5% – 1.5%; transit from .25% – 1%; and special purpose districts from .125% – 2%. However, the combined rate of local sales and use taxes cannot exceed 2%, making the highest possible combined tax rate 8.25%.

I'm sorry! The point i was trying to make is; Ohio has a restriction on the purchase of magazines . You can not purchase a magazine, in Ohio, that holds more than 30 rounds (with the exception of 22 rim fire). Nor will companies outside Ohio ship magazines, in excess of 30 rounds, to an Ohio address.

There is no such restriction in other states, like Tennessee.

I know buddy. It was an attempt at humor. Fwiw the rule must say you are not allowed to use a mag that holds more than 30 rounds. But they sure do sell them. As a matter of fact Wright Patterson AFB gunshop sells 60 round sure fire mags

Being from Utah I certainly could throw my vote for it. If you love the outdoors and shooting its a great state. I currently leave in Tx. Active duty and stationed here. It is nice and gun laws are pretty good. But surprisingly not near as good as Utah. Plus the one thing I can not get over is there is no public land. It really restricts your outdoor activities unless you happen to own a ranch. I do love the Texas winters but I can not wait to get back out West. Southern Utah is awesome.

Anyone have an opinion on Tennessee?

Nashville is great, as is most of the rest of the state. 40 minutes from Nashville one way and 40 minutes from LBL national rec area the other where I live. Hunting for days, outdoors for days, land is reasonable, Class 3 friendly, CCW friendly, southern hospitality, good food. Lots of great things down here. State sales tax, well not so great. 9.75% BUT, no state income tax so there's a trade off. And if you live near the Kentucky border, well their sales tax is around 6.5% I think, so you can drive there to purchase big ticket items. And if you're into this sort of thing, you're in bourbon country...

Driving East on I-40, all Oklahoma exits advertise casinos, in Arkansas, they advertise Porno Shops, in Tennessee, they advertise gun shops. I don't do casinos or porn, but guns....now I could live with that.
