Interesting mag release too. Is that a custom thing or did you buy it from somewhere. Some details would be great. Details on the comp would be awesome too.

The extended mag release buttons I make myself. It takes me a few days just to machine one. It's a pain to make. But I hated trying to flip the gun back and forth to reach and activate the mag release.

Unfortunately they only fit that specific grip and my messed-up construction hands. I had a friend of mine with big hands try it and he did not care for the button. In my case, it is user specific.

As for the comps, they are my designs, but I need a local machine shop to make them for me. ( when they have time, It's not a priority for them ). It's cool to see those very high end CNC machines turn one out. I wish I could afford one of those.

When shooting major loads through them, they do happen to work a little bit better in conjunction with a few barrel ports.

Everything else I do myself in house, ( my basement ) including any machining I would like to do on the guns, just using a simple mini-mill.

I always liked the CZ / Tanfoglio grip style, it always felt the most comfortable in my hands.

Unfortunately there are not a lot of options to work with in a Tanfoglio Open platform. So I started building my own.

As for the 9 major, it is not quite as flat as my 38 SC , but it's getting close. And I'm not done with it yet. I have some things that I'm trying out. I just need some time to R&D.

Forget hearing about just the middle one, I want to know more about all of them! But the 9mm major is on the top of the list for information request. Looks great!

Thanks for the response. It seems like there are very few folks running 9 major in these guns. I hope to build an open gun one day, and part of me wants to avoid the brass debacle with 38/supercomp. Seems like you are very limited on powders though if you stick to 9 major (especially in the factory open gun).

This one is 9 major and it chronos faster than my 2011 with a 5.4" barrel and no holes.

Making major in a 9mm V12 is possible with all but the slowest popular Open powders, although it is pretty hard on the gun and hard in the hand.

Now that Eric is carrying the V8 three port comp its pretty easy to turn a Limited into a custom Open gun.

Hadn't noticed that. Opens many more options (no pun intended). The options keep growing with Tanfo frames it seems. I will have to look into the barrel, so thank you.

littlehendrick: your very welcome.

kneelingatlas is right the 9mm V12 is a bit difficult to load and get to run comfortably.( just too many ports for 9mm ). But it can be done. The 38 Super V12 is just an easier platform to deal with.

But I do understand about the brass issue, I can relate to that.

As mentioned above, if you can, get the six inch 9mm barrel from EAA , cut and thread it, and grab the 3 port comp from Eric Grauffel.

That's a good start for a 9 major open gun.

I hope these pictures post okay. If not, I'll be needing some help again.

I'm terrible with computers.

From left to right,

The first picture is the Steel gun.

The middle is the 9 Major.

And the last picture is in 38 SC.

Those builds look freakin great, excellent work.

What are those triggers your using ? They don't quite look like their EG Xtreme triggers, are they ?

Those actually are the original triggers.

I just set them further back and re-shape them to fit my own hands.

What slide racker is that? Does it interfere with your draw?

I really don't like the small factory racker and want an alternative. Thanks

Ok, I'll play. Here's my brand new, yet-to-be-fired Hunter in 10mm. I was very concerned about buying this gun sight unseen, but after hearing all the positive reports, especially about the grip which was my main concern, I pulled the trigger :) and got it from Bud's. The grip is great, very similar to my CZ75, which I love and much smaller than the Glock G20/40, which I abhorred.

I'm thinking about putting a Deltapoint or RMR optic on it, but am still researching it. Since I'll be using it for makin' bacon, I'm really looking for a low profile sight. Not sure if the available dovetails will work or if I have to mill the slide. We'll see...

selecw: I don't care for the small factory slide racker either.

Those are just Sidewinder slide rackers from Shooters Connection.

You will have to remove a little bit of material off the bottom to get it to fit,

but they do not interfere with my draw at all.

However others have had their thumbs catch it, if that happens you can bend it further up to get it out of your way.

They are difficult to use with the 90 degree mount. At that point you may want to look for something else to use on the opposite side, which will give you more accessibility to operate.
