  1. Being in the US, the only ones that are brought in are large frame. I have small hands, and don't have a problem.
  2. ARy, Care to explain? Not sure I know the same info you do.
  3. When EG visited JJ during the SHOT Show time frame, he taught JJ some additional stuff. I own the stock II that JJ built with him. I know JJ can do the usual trigger work, but do not think he will be doing milling/barrel threading at this time.
  4. I went from glock for over 5 years to Tanfo. My stock II is fully tuned though, so the DA is still lighter than my carry/stock glock43. Two-three solid weeks of dryfire and I am confident in my first shots with DA. The adjustment from a long pull to the short SA is taking a bit more time, due to limited live fire practice. (Still mostly only indoors up here). Very glad I made the switch, first match after 150 rds, classifier was about where my old ones were. Should be easily another 5-10% higher once I fully adjust (only rocking low B currently)
  5. Hadn't noticed that. Opens many more options (no pun intended). The options keep growing with Tanfo frames it seems. I will have to look into the barrel, so thank you.
  6. Atlas- True, I guess I should have been a bit better at clarifying. It seems equivalent to loading other 9 major guns if you custom build a gun, versus lets say running the V12 factory barrel.
  7. Thanks for the response. It seems like there are very few folks running 9 major in these guns. I hope to build an open gun one day, and part of me wants to avoid the brass debacle with 38/supercomp. Seems like you are very limited on powders though if you stick to 9 major (especially in the factory open gun).
  8. Forget hearing about just the middle one, I want to know more about all of them! But the 9mm major is on the top of the list for information request. Looks great!
  9. Open1215- If that is what I think it is...it might persuade me to build an open gun for general shenanigans. Looks great!

    P320 Slides

I'll be there, and they will probably have to drag me away kicking and screaming if they happen to release a competition model. Then once I am over my depression of not owning one yet, then I will post all that I find out here on benos.
  11. Or just post a WTB ad, and people come to you. The EAA/Tanfoglio chop/shop thread might also have one for you.
  12. So lets say there is a $800 dedicated in upgrades for a plastic gun. How much does that really matter compared to what you spend the rest of the year? The initial cost of a gun, upgrades, and such, is far over shadowed by consumable costs. 12 club matches a year ($20 per)- $240 Ammo for matches (200 rounds ish, $12/100)- $288 Sectional Match - $100 Practice ammo (5,000 rounds, then 15,000, $120 per k) - $600/$1,800 If you are super cool: Area match - $100? Ammo - $36 Class- $500 Ammo - $120 So in a year, your consumable costs range from $1,228 to $3,184. This does not include travel, lodging, or gas. So why worry about a bit of money put into a gun that the person enjoys? Especially when you factor a $800 set of upgrades for a plastic gun over...3/4 years? Shoot what you like, and enjoy our sport...it is a sport for fun after all.
  13. Sadly I can't help on the install. I will be interesting to hear how much your trigger changes with just the kit. A large amount of people seem to do all the new sears and FPB and such, but what does springs, polishing, and a firing pin do for trigger weight? Good luck on the install!

    Sig P320

Now we just need a long slide, and maybe some new sights and Sig has stolen all my money. It will be interesting to see if any news comes out about new rear sights that don't have to have the slide milled. Edit*- I would be good with them just releasing a slide at SHOW, and being able to purchase it in April. Then We can shoot a "normal" FS in the mean time.

    Sig P320

That is definitely an option (flying down with it), but some folks keep hinting something awesome might be coming out at SHOT, so I haven't bought one yet. But I also have to weight the whole released at SHOT, but will get to distributors May possibility. Oh the decisions.

    Sig P320

Alma, Thanks for the update, it will be fun to watch with a larger group of shooters. JGuns, They seem to keep hinting at stuff being announced at SHOT show...we will have to wait and see. I am hoping a drop in kit is released as well. Shipping a firearm from Alaska to get work done gets very expensive. Here is to hoping for the best of news!

    Sig P320

Alma, I definitely will stop by, always nice to meet the people in person who find ways to empty my wallet. Are you by chance shooting the local match out at Desert Sportsman's on Sunday are you? I couldn't pass up the chance to shoot outside in nice weather.

    Sig P320

Started and finished all 22 pages in one sitting. Played with a full size 9mm at the local toy store, like other said, heavy, but good trigger. Looking to jump back to production, might be the ticket. I'll be at SHOT show, so hopefully we will find out more soon! Also, if Sig is listening, please don't release something super awesome at SHOT, then not have it available until July/August. The Alaska outdoor shooting season is too short to waste! I want to give them my money, I just hope I don't have to wait 6+ months (if the long slide/Max/target version comes out.)
  19. Ziebart- Thanks for updated the schedule. Looks like I will be flying down with my gear then!
  20. Looking at the Sin City USPSA page, the schedule only shows through December. Any USPSA matches on the 16th or 17th? Figure it would be nice to get a warm weather match in before the SHOT show. Thanks for the help.
  21. I am running it a bit shorter of a load (1.117") since I use it for a glock 35 and my wife's Edge. 4.0gr makes it in the glock, 4.1 makes it in the Edge. 10 shots averaged 959 with a SD of 9. It was on a 73 degree day.
  22. I have not handled anything from SV, but have had the chance to play with a FGW, Akai, and Dawson custom STI. All were quite phenomenal, and from my friends, have had excellent customer service. People like Rangertrace can comment better on SVI stuff. My close friend's experience with Salient has been terrible. He ordered a tier 2 glock (different boat than an S_I). They quoted him 4-8 weeks. It finally arrived last week, after 31 weeks of waiting. It was still missing his RMR, extended magazine release, and slide release. I don't know exactly how a company loses a $600 sight, then took them three days to send it out to him. I can not comment on how Salient makes 2011's nor their quality. Now his pistol shoots nicely, but even as a die hard Glock guy...no way would I go with one of their builds. Combine that with some horrible customer service (multiple un-returned phone calls, slow to fix things, poor lead time estimates, etc) I would not support them. Not trying to be a pain/a certain male appendage, but I don't want to see a fellow shooter go through the same roller coaster my friend had.
  23. Zack- I didn't see it listed, but what are you running for OAL? Thank you.

    Glock porn

Knedrgr- Awesome looking set up, how do you like the sight-tracker set up? Also, how long was the wait for the slide/was it worth it? My friend and I have a few Glocks...
  25. Have you done a "plunk" test in your barrel, are you possibly pushing into the barrel and causing a set-back when you chamber a round? 3.5gr will probably be safe, as I ran up to 3.6 when I was testing PF/velocity. It did not increase much from 3.4 to 3.6, but I am also running a shorter OAL than you.
