mont1120
In order to rise up out of C class in Limited 10, I'm improving each small option I can on my Kimber Custom Stainless, and wanted to know the preferred expanded magwell for .45 ACP. My reloads can hopefully benefit from the wider opening, and I rely on the experienced shooters here to guide me in the right direction .
DRichardson
Techwell XP works great with those long mags.
EkuJustice
I like the Dawson here as I can use whatever grips I want and the insert is remove able for when it gets beat up

actionshooter38
Just put a Dawson Ice on a Para SS. It makes mag changes smooth as butter.
tnshoot
9 for Dawson. 1 for techwell. It seems you have your answer And I'll go ahead and make it 10 for Dawson.
cibola
My TGO is as sexy as they come. It has been competition proven by the best shooters in the world. Its a little bit more expensive but I did not have to change my backstrap.
tbarker13
Went with a techwell on mine. Partly because I didn't want to change the MSH.
frag316
I have a Dawson No Gap on my old SS gun (Trojan 5.0), which worked pretty well--that gun is my backup gun now. My primary match gun is my Iron Shrike, which has the Predator Tactical Competiton Magwell (http://www.predatortactical.com/Custom_Firearms/Predator_Tactical_Iron_Shrike_p312.html).%C2'> It works very well with Wilson magazines with their extended basepad. I have not yet found an aluminum basepad that works with them. One of the nicer unforeseen and non-shooting benefits is that the magwell goes onto the gun from the front of the grip, not the bottom. That means it's very easy to put the MSH pin back into the gun, because the magwell is supporting the tension on the mainspring.
chevyoneton
I will descent; I like the Smith & Alexander a lot. Not as big as others but that is what I wanted. I did not like the “look” of the Dawson on a 1911 (have one on my XDm though) and the S&A just fits and looks right on a 1911 to me.
smith52
I just recently installed the Dawson ICE magwell on a Trojan and so far love it!
frag316
I do have a Smith and Alexander on my carry 1911, and it's a pretty good magwell, too. If you're looking for something lower profile than a competition magwell, it's a great option.
