  1. Don't agree with that. I have been shooting a budget PCC competitively for 3 years and it's been totally reliable. KAW Valley upper parts and a NFA lower. The POF trigger is good advice, works well for me for a relatively cheap drop in.
  2. This^ relative to the cased vs flag issue. I don't get what's so difficult to understand about a flagged rifle muzzle up or down is the same as a holstered pistol. And I can manage the flag myself, no interaction with the RO required (unless they want to). One out of several clubs in our area now demand cased rifles. Sure, just what I want to do is put my cased gun in the dirt and monkey around getting it out of the case and then burdening the RO with the case at the start. Then a repeat of that at "clear". This is senseless.
  3. I had a Jard trigger that I Iiked well enough but the narrow hammer was beating the bolt and raising a burr. I replaced it with a POF drop in which is very nice if you like flat triggers. It functions well and is ~3.5 lbs as stated and the price is good. NFA lower BTW.
  4. I put a CT 206 on my PCC and have used it a few times so far. Twice on classifiers using the "point and bang, bang" at the beep and one other time on a stage start doing the same thing. On the non-classifier stage I found the laser dot distracting while I shot the rest of the stage. The bay was shaded and there was a bunch of steel and a star and that darn dot was all over the place. It would be easy to turn off I suppose as the switch is right where my thumb is but that's one more thing to think about. I haven't seen a stage yet to use the reach around and point shoot technique. But so far I'm optimistic! BTW-I have an RTS on a 1/2" riser and I don't even notice the laser in the optic while shooting.
  5. Bayou, SNS and BBI. Lead collected in the comp ports.
  6. OK, thanks for the comments. I'll continue to work with them.
  7. Yes, good point about crimp and since I have been using coated bullets for production, limited and single stack since Bayou came out with them I have been sensitive to that. Even with essentially no crimp they smoke bad and leave lead in the comp at open velocity hence the trial with extreme plated. Maybe they are OK at less than open FPS (~1400) but even with a light crimp accuracy suffers at these velocities is what i'm finding.
  8. I tried some of these out today and wanted to get others opinions. 38SC, Extreme 124 heavy plate RN. Tried some with 7.5gr Auto Comp and 8.5gr Silhouette. They ran fine, plating stayed on, nothing in the comp, but the accuracy was not good. I switched back and forth between some Montana Gold 124 RN's loaded the same so it wasn't me. Sure would like to make these run because my coated bullet experiment for open wasn't that successful. I read the other thread about this from last year but thought maybe there is more info available now.
  9. I use 135gr BBI's for a 3-gun load in a 2011. 3.0Gr N310. Don't have to worry about PF it just has to knock down steel but it comes in around 125. When I run out of N310, which will be soon, I'll switch to Titegroup.
  10. Weld the spacers to the mag by drilling 3 holes in the back. Puddle weld then grind and polish.
  11. Forget the comp is there and try this: 135gr coated bullet (Bayou, etc.) 3.0gr N310 or 3.15gr Titegroup 1.15 OAL or whatever your mags/pistol likes.
  12. 2% can't be right under any consideration. There must be more than that just in IDPA production not to mention a significant percentage in USPSA single stack. Hell, even GSSF, for what its worth, probably has more than 2% in 40. What is she talking about?
  13. Does the grip panel get in the way of this STI extended button? I use a VZ grip panel with a cutout so it doesn't but maybe on some grips some trimming would be required.
  14. I use that button on my Trojan for SS. Works great. BTW- You can drill &tap the stock release or get the extended one. I have done both.
  15. Users guide. http://www.intelitekdownloads.com/Manuals/CNC/Benchman_5000_Manual.pdf
  16. ^^ same for me with a very light slide
  17. Dawson has some basepads that work well with magwells
  18. Taylor Freelance brass if you want some weight. Need an allen wrench though...
  19. 200gr Bayou's with 4gr Titegroup at 1.20 for my Trojan SS gun.
  20. Tungsten carbide is not used. It's tungsten alloyed with nickel and copper.

    Shooting with music.

    Rage Against The Machine!!
  22. I 2nd (or 3rd) that! A STI Eagle with a bushing bbl makes a nice ESP gun. And a limited minor USPSA gun as a bonus!
