Obscure/Proprietary calibers..

seems like alot of work to create something that duplicates .41 magnum, not to mention having to build a gun to shoot them. Why not just buy/load .41 mag ?

I realize many of our rounds started as a wildcat but the ones that became successful usually did something a little different or better than ones already on the market.

Have both of these:

.40 Super (Triton): .451 Detonics necked down to .40 caliber, 180 grain at 1450 fps.

.414 SuperMag (Dan Wesson): .3" longer than the .41 mag, 265 grain at 1800 fps.

My regular "taking a walk in the woods" rifle is a .338-06 A-Square and I have just started to play with the .450 Bushmaster and .300 Fireball.

Homie,

what platform are you shootingyour .224 Boz out of???? I am really interested in the cartridge, but have stayed off doing it because of stuff i have read about it being a proprietary military round, and now that it pretty much was eating all the 1911's and glocks it was put into(very short service life, not good) was thinking of maybe putting it into a TC barrel??? would have to get a reamer first off i guess...
