Favorite weight

What weight do you like to load and shoot in 9mm? I'm just plinking and target shooting. No competition.

If that is what you are looking for I shoot 124's. 147's have a little softer feel but I think 124 would be a good all around general use bullet as they are also cheaper than 147's. 115's are cheaper yet but they are a little snappy.

147s are the rage for soft-shooting competition loads.

If your just plinking and not competing buy 115's you get more shots for you money!

for general plinking its usually 124's because in lead they are pretty much the same as jacketed profile-wise, for competition its 115's jhp's from MG and for production its 147's from MG

147's are favored for sure, but the cost is more as they get heavier. I know the big names Win, Rem, ect offer 100 ct bags pricey yes, but it would allow to try the three weights outs to see which you prefer with out buying a 1000 off the bat.

MG will sell you 100 packs as well. But I think they charge shipping?

softer recoil,and for some reason i shoot them better than 124. might be related to the FP stability compared to RN,rather than related to weight???

i never shot anything major, i might be wrong but i guess 124 is probably better suited to major loads.

The 9mm was developed with an 8 gram bullet, which is about 124gr. That's what I like.

Yes. 124/125 whatever it takes.

I actually like the feel of 125gr over 147gr. It's slightly snappier, but the sights seem to return faster. I'd definitely recommend getting a few of both and comparing them to each other.

MG will sell you 100 packs as well. But I think they charge shipping?

I got a response back from MG. They no longer sell sample packs but if you ask they will GIVE you 10 bullets to sample if you place an order for others. Just ask for the bullets you would like to try.

Hello: I would use the 115 grain Montana Gold JHP's. They are cheaper than the 147's and they work well. I also like the 121 Montana Gold IFP's. Same bullet as the 115's but the hollow point is filled in with lead. Thanks, Eric
