The set screw is good. Problem is that I can't adjust shell plate. Its as if the part that the plate sits on is warped. I suspected the ball plunger that the plate sits on. I cleaned it out also.

I have a problem with my shell plate on my 550. When you thumb the star to rotate,the shell plate will turn freely For a couple of turns then stick and you have to force it. Like its rubbing the main plate it goes in. No matter how loose the shell plate bolt is.

I have been loading 180gr JHP with 231. OAL 1.125 and 4.5 grns. Winchester shows a max of 5.0grns. With this length do you think I could bump it up a few 10ths of a grain? I still don't have a crono,so I'm not sure what these are pushing now.

Anyone know what size the E clip is on the roller,that's on the primer bar is?

I use a very slight crimp. Very slight,just enough to help with any possibility of bullet set back due to recoil.

I getting around to loading .308Win on my 550. I'm loading for a savage bolt gun.(my first bolt action attempt) What do I do in the crimp station? Is there a rule of thumb? I do load .223 for my M-4,I use almost no crimp for the semi auto.

Show's what I know, I am going to research these. Where can you get them? 155gr looks about right in my manuals.

Just plinking, I guess you would call it. Paper targets out to 100 or 200 yards. Nothing to serious. I have a good supply of H335,so I would like to use that. Thanks for the help.

I'm ready to start my first attempt at loading the .308 Win. Before I invest in a bunch of bullets,can someone suggest a bullet weight to start with? I have H335, Dillon equipment and Hornady and FC brass.

Jeez, I am now missing the E clip form my primer bar ( the one on the White roller wheel) I called Dillon to find out it's size. 5/32 in case anyone looks for it. The guy said it was easy to find at a hardware store.

Anyone know what size that c clip is that holds the decapping pin on the pistol sizing die? Mine broke.

Anyone load for this gun? I've loaded Precision Delta 124gr FMJ and Berry's 124gr bullets,it eats em up. But I have some Missouri 115gr LRN and it won't go into battery. (ogive maybe?) I'm loading all to 1.120

I'm sure this has been discussed before. How do you know if your "over swaging"?
