  1. Was a thread I came across some time back for N320 that had wealth of info on 147's/N320. I recall some using 3.3 , 1.140 oal, 147's to 3.5 out of g17, g34.
  2. The mid length sys is more reliable than the carbine sys from what ive been told from several diff companys. The 16 in will get him to the distance he wants to go
  3. I would agree im not really big on JP's adj gas block sys. I will check into a non adj one but if not red thread locker will do the trick. I guess why I havent made my mind up yet would be I love the way the Noveske looks, but at just under 2500 the thought of having to spend another 500 at least for the grip i prefer, UBR stock, and a nice single stage trigger now 3k is a bit hard to swallow. The JP 15 on the other hand comes in 2435 just the way I would want it. A hasty decision on my part could have me wondering what if in the long run. plus with 4 to 8 wk wait it will be awhile before i can post a pic of what I end up getting. Im gonna go check out SMM 3 gun event in mesa at the end of the month to see these companys toys in something other than pics and I think that will help me decide after seeing them in person. Thanks to evenyone here who has taken the time to help me out... WWNAZ
  4. Does anyone have or know of someone that has the JP-15D, wondering what they thought of it? Sounds strange to ask about that model but after looking at everything JP has to offer I feel that maybe very very close to what I want. On the other hand If I go with an 18 in barrel its the stardard JP-15.
  5. Not sure on that one??? I do know after talking w/JP on the phone which to my surprise a lot of law enforcement carry JP's including some swat teams. those guys wouldnt run them if they thought they wouldnt run when there life or someone else's depends on it. my brain hurts on what to buy... LoL The larue is out only due to they arent willing to change a few small things out for me with credit towards what I want on the gun. Its between JP and Noveske at this point and I feel I cant go wrong with either company.
  6. So after a long time on JP's site and a long chat with Mel at JP on what I was looking for and a whole lot of my questions answered. I am putting JP-15 right next to the noveske I was looking at. The JP 15 just plain has more of what I want, and is 500 bucks cheaper Its strange I knew about JP, heck Ive even shot a JP that a 3 gun bud had and didnt even know it at the time. I guess i didnt think about them just as one wouldnt consider STI trubor for tactical side arm. But as it turns out alot of JP's AR's are used for that, and law enforcement runs them to.
  7. So JP's line is beyond busy? Can someone tell me, because I couldnt find weither or not JP's AR's will run 556 or just 223 stuff only?
  8. So at this point I learning more towards the noveske than the larue. Noveske is more than willing to change out a stock and couple other things for credit for another part or two, plus a small install fee. I did look at JP and did see some stuff I liked and will be giving them a call for some info at the very least.
  9. What i ment by fit and finish is that for this amount of money I want a nice finish and upper and lower that isnt a rattle trap, which is what im seeing from the brands that most think of when considering an AR rifle. You hate to buy top fueler with a crap paint job and poor fitting seat... LoL
  10. I must agree on the new forged lower from noveske if I go that route and i will wait forsure until they start encluding the new forged lower w/complete rifle builds. As far as larue goes i do like the obr, but some of lower pieces such as the color of ctr i just dont care for. last time i talked with larue directly you cant change the stock or grip, trigger to something more to your personal likes with out buying at extra cost. So if I go w/larue I would buy the stripped lower build it to my likings w/ stealth upper which i think has the nicer forearm anyways. I will check out the others also. Thanks WWNAZ!
  11. So I’ve had three different AR's from three different companies and 2 have been junk and wouldn’t run, and third ran great but the fit and finish was bad. I’ve spent a great deal of time reading mags, reviews, and even joined a all AR forum. I know I know I can’t believe I did the Ar forum either. What I’m wanting is on the tactical side of things, defense, and some 3 gun from time to time. I’ve come down to 2 makers Larue, and Noveske both are known for being tough, reliable, and offering great accuracy. Other than having a great barrel noveske seems to be very pricey and really only runs other company parts and for that price nothing more than mil-spec trigger and bad mil-spec finish come with the rifle. With Larue offering a bit more for a couple hundred bucks less. I’m not concerned about the price here, I’m more concerned about getting the most, and more importantly a rifle that I know will run with out question if ever needed. Any insight on these two would be great, Thanks WWNAZ
  12. Its funny seems as if we are both working on finding out what works best with what powder and bullet weight. I just got some X-treme 9mm's myself, and have been very pleased with how they have preformed so far. Will be ordering some more. 147's will give you softest felt recoil for sure
  13. Since I have some more personally collected data now, I have to amend this. In a G17, if you load on the short end, Hodgdon's published max load for 147gr jacketed bullets with Universal Clays will (at least with X-Treme 147gr plated bullets over my Chrony) just make minor PF. The difference in feel between these and the 124gr load I've been doing is at least as big as the difference in feel between factory (Blazer) 115gr and my 124gr load. I'm loading some ammo now that I'm guessing will be used for the upcoming GSSF match with the X-Treme 147s, 3.4gr Universal, and an OAL of 1.120". This is right between Hodgdon's and what I've read is Lyman's published max load. So I was very close to minor w/ 147's and 3.3 of Universal then. Since then Ive tried Universal w/ 124's and was much happier with universal under 124's than under 147's. Just me i guess... LoL For 147's ill stick with dirty ol'TG for now. But also have started running plain Clays under 124's and was very pleased with how that powder has worked so far.
  14. I always find it funny that so many people talk about how "expensive" N320 is but when you do the math it is not all that much difference. "3.1gr of N320 cost 0.0115 3.8gr of Solo 1K cost 0.0108 1000 rounds of N320: 11.51 1000 rounds of Solo 1K : 10.84" That is a whopping 0.67 per 1000 bullets. I think I will stick with N320 I bought a pound of Clays for 16 + tax and when you can find 320 on shelf in AZ? Never under 30 bucks... When you buy 320 in 4 to 8 pounders only does the price come with in reason to other powders. I like Clays much better for minor very clean, I feel its a softer shooting powder than 320 and cheaper, and alot easier to find on the shelf.
  15. If you want to eliminate glocked brass, and shoot lead than aftermarket barrel is a great idea. I’ve heard a lot of folks running lead with stock barrels without issue to though. I’ve had great luck with KKM barrels and I wouldnt consider anything else for my Glocks
  16. page #88 had the pic and info that I needed
  17. Rule Book From the current Rule Book, Appendix E4: Checkering, stippling, and/or tape may only be applied to the areas illustrated by the dashed line boundaries which include the frontstrap and backstrap. Grip Tape cannot be applied to any part of the slide, trigger, trigger guard, or any lever or button. Grip Tape or Grip Sleeves cannot disengage a grip safety. You'll have to open the link to see the picture, but basically, almost the whole grip can be altered with grip tape, checkering, or stippling. Thanks!
  18. For USPSA production I was under the idea that you can not do grip work aka stippling ect, only grip tape is legal to add to the grip. maybe my rule book is out dated and has been revised per this ruling or is that ispc rules
  19. I was under the impression that grip work other grip tape was not Production legal in USPSA? Maybe my rule book is out of date
  20. 1.120 is a great O.A.L to start with a 9mm glock and tweak from there to fine tune.
  21. Thanks for info guys... I would of hated to add one of those items to only find out at a match by the way you cant have that on your blaster! Im going to add a Wolff guide rod which is steel so I should be fine weight wise. Robar has it now for NP3 coating process and should have it back in about a month I hope? Other than that Im going to order a Vanek classic trigger in a few weeks. Im looking forward to running a production gun as I hope running it makes me a better limited shooter also.
