But, as art-house, soft-porn, beautiful scenery (Italy and Violante) goes, it wasn't too bad.

I'll wait for Italy shows in the travel channel and get Playboy's issue featuring Violante. Thank you.

As for "only" packing a PPK (looked like a PPK/L to me)...

Apologize for being a little Walther rusty. <_<

Thanks for all of the negitive reviews, I will go to see it for sure now... I usually like the movies you guys hate.

I don't know about your area, here in Ohio...this movie got very little advertising. Just a bit right before it opened, then none at all after it opened.

It was asked why Clooney made the film. I would say it is a vanity project for him. He lives in Italy and wants to be thought of as a magnanimous dude, so he drops some American green around through his production company. Good for him. Really.

The script is completely predictable. There is not a single turn that I did not see coming. The characters are trite. I thought prostitutes with a heart of gold perished with Shelley Long in _Nightshift_ (1982). The bit with the priest as a pious hypocrite is a needless subplot.

As the Mini 14, really now, and the suppressor too: Funny stuff. I will give it a pass on the PPK because I like the pistol, although it is no fun to shoot.

A sexy suspense thriller? No

Riveting and irresistible? No

This movie is boring! Yes

I guess I'm not a Clooney fan either but Roger Ebert, please don't try to tell me this movie is "Gripping".

The only thing I wanted to grip was the stop button on the remote.

I should have learned how boring Clooney was when I bought the movie Solaris from the bargain shelf.

This is yet another boring, boring waste of money and time...Yawn.

If anyone knows of a more boring movie...please tell me.

Normally even if people say a movie is boring, or bad, I still like to find out for myself. If you're the same way, I will have to warn you off of this piece of garbage, Don't try and find out for yourself, because this movie is utterly mind numbing. The OP is dead on with this post.

The GF and I saw the trailer and thought "hey, kind of looks like a Bourne Identity movie".....it couldn't be far from that.

The ONLY, and I repeat ONLY action scenes in this movie are in the trailer. No lie, no exaggeration.

And since we're all gun experts here....or at least stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night....I will describe a scene for you so you can truly see what a POS this is:

George Clooney is an assassin, or assassin's gun maker...not sure, never figured it out...builds a gun for a woman. While going over the specs on the rifle, he says the muzzle velocity is 450 MPH ( can't remember exact number, but it was in the hundreds ).

Really?? MPH??? I have never, ever, heard someone talk about muzzle velocity in MPH, so if I am wrong on this, please let me know....but i'm pretty sure no one does.

He builds a suppressor from trash...washers, pipe. and engine parts...with only a big hammer and a tap :roflol:

when done its a pro built part all machined and anodized  They think we are morons :angry2:

The people who produced this movie could not pour pee out of a boot, if the direction were printed on the heel

Funny how this subject came up again recently. I DL this movie, It's a movie, intended for the artistic shots. I especially liked the winding road shot from straight above. Well that's about it and Violante!

Every wonder how he sabotaged the rifle he built?

Yes I did wonder how he did it.

Although he didn't come across as a skilled gunsmith at any time during the movie.

However, during the scene where he obviously had something in mind by disassembling the brief case...(he had that look. ) I knew something was in the works.

The acting was dreadful by all the actors. It was painful for me to keep waiting for the intriguing part which never occured.

I did however enjoy the view of the winding road. But the maze of a community where he lived would not be a good choice for someone coming home drunk. :roflol:
