I'll be there shooting production. This is my first nationals and I'm glad that I'm a vegas local! I'll just wake up and drive down to my range like I've done for practice and local matches for the past year  If anyone needs advice on non shooting activities or restaurants let me know, I'd be happy to help. See you guys there in a month.

Must be nice to be local to the Nats (wherever it's at that year). :)

Some helpful hints for those of us who have to fly (sorry, but I'm not driving 30 hours to Nats) what I did last year was went to Dicks and/or Wal Mart and bought the one of the cheap folding chairs for like $9.99 and a cheapy cooler. Found out later I didnt need the cooler, as they gave us unlimited bottled water there. But the chair was well worth it. Our squad ran into a backup on stage 2 during the Limited match, that lasted almost an hour. Nice to have a chair then. It actually started to rip a little during the last day of use, so I didn't feel bad at all about throwing it away ........ in fact if I recall I believe I left it in the rental car! LOL

PS Don't do what I did and forget the charger for my digital camera. :angry2: I had to go to Wal Mart and pick one up. Bring all the chargers / or spare batteries to all your electronic gear.

Yep it is! I'm really looking forward to it. I think I'll throw a couple of extra chairs in my car so that I can make a few friends lol. I've also got a pop up beach tent that I use at the range during the summer but I think it'll be cool enough in oct where we will not need it. Also for anyone unfamiliar with the area there is an albertsons (supermarket) and a marks NY pizza just a mile or two East of the range on the North side of charleston.

There's also a Chinese takeout place that isn't all that bad either!

CAZ: Any idea what the average temps are during that time of Oct. ?

Did you guys miss the Red Rock Casino, now why not treat yourself to a Super Buffet!

And I'll add feast on the secenery.

Are you talking about Pei Wei a couple of miles down the road on charleston? yeah that place is great, I have their takeout number on speed dial on my phone. I'll usually go shooting in the late afternoon and pick up dinner after my range session. Great food, relatively inexpensive and they are affiliated w/ PF changs, which is further to the East on Charleston. Here is the website for anyone interested: http://www.peiwei.com/index.aspx I love their ginger broccoli w/ beef and white rice. Their chicken lettuce wraps are great too.

High 82 F / Low 54F / Avg 68 F  perfect shooting temp IMO

Hello: So is there going to be a dinner someplace for the Open and Production nationals and this Enos gang? Thanks, Eric

Eric - That sounds like a good Idea. Maybe something simple on Friday night just meet up at the Buffet at the Orleans after Registration closes.

Oh yeah -- Seafood Extravaganza night at the buffet! Last year my shooting partner McLuvin', a/k/a mindcrime here on BENOS, put on quite the spectacle -- five overfilled plates of crab legs, plus salad and dessert, into a 5'6" frame. Simply impressive. The Friday buffet is well worth the dinero. Look forward to it.

I ordered 2 coupon books from the American Casino Guide (google). The books were under $15.00 each and contain tons of match play coupons, 2 for ones at a lot of Vegas casinos including a $10.00 match play coupon, 2 for 1 show ticket and 2 free drinks at any bar at the Orleans. My wife and I are staying at the El-Cortez downtown and are going to use these books to do a little exploring all over town. The last time we were in Vegas was 19 years ago.

My first nationals after all these years and I can't wait.
