  1. Less light = less ability to see the front sight, particularly if you are eligible for AARP. When I find indoor shooting frustrating it is largely when I compare it to my outdoor shooting which I shouldn't do. Apples and oranges. I'll be interested to see what impact it has when I get my open gun.
  2. Heck, just say you are going to do it randomly without announcing what dates or the number of times a year you are going to do it. Betcha all the stealth minor shooters cowboy up and shoot major. If you have the time/inclination you can set up the chrono, if not you probably still get the benefit. Personally, I like the way my TS shoots with major loads more than when I played with mousefart rounds for steel.

    Use Of Zen

Zen-like mediation is not unique to Buddhism. A fair number of early Christian sects such as the Desert Fathers used this technique of contemplative meditation. I've always considered the practice of Zen a technique (okay, I really view it as nothing more than just being, but that is a more involved story. ) that can be applied to spiritual pursuits, the religion of your choice, shooting, or playing with my daughter. Edited because the practice of Zen does not lead to improved spelling.
  4. "CZ, yes they made some of the motorcycles I used to race back in the 70's." Would have been a true story as well. I used to race a 400 back in the day. Thought that was pretty cool when I picked up my TS. http://www.clarionconst.com/Events/large/M...les/74400cz.htm Very, very quick thinking!
  5. Do you mean this grip: http://www.matsbackstrom.com/index_pages/ThumbRest.html ? The detail procedures how to make it are discribed somewhere on that site... Very cool, and he is a lefty on top of it all!
  6. At this rate we will all wind up doing nothing but playing video games in the safety of our bunkers. My vote would be to have simply warned all participants that the threats exist. Show up if you want, or don't, its your personal call. I wouldn't shut down Dakar because of these threats. As others have said, when you do this the bad buys win. Think they won't make the same threat next year, or the next, or as long as even one lone idiot has access to the internet? This was one of the greatest races in the world. I will miss it.
  7. GA does have a pretty short two year statute of limitations for bodily injury by which time you must either have settled your case or filed suit. Otherwise you do forever lose your right to present a bodily injury claim. (I'm assuming your accident occurred in GA)
  8. I agree with the above posters that it is a moral/ethical/personal choice thing on if you want to present a bodily injury claim against the other driver. That being said, I am in the buisness so would toss the following .02 into the mix. WC should pick up all of your medical bills and some of your lost wages. How much depends on your state's cap for lost wage benefits. If you are under that cap you should get an amount approximatly equal to your net wages back. Again depending upon which state you are in and the seriousness of your injuries you may be entitled to an award for permenancy. Doesn't sound like it based upon what you have written, but it is a possibility. If you decide to present a claim for bodily injury to the other person's insurance carrier I would point out that most attorneys will charge you at least 1/3 of any amount they recover. What I have always advised people who ask if they should get an attorney is that as long as they don't have a disagreement that can't be resolved for more than a third of the amount you are attempting to recover then it is probably not the best financial choice. They do insulate you from some of the crap of associated with handling your own claim as well, but you could almst certainly make your way through the claim process, it isn't really that hard. Again, as others have said, it really is a personal choice on presenting the claim. Hope you start feeling better soon!
  9. Very nice, professional looking job there!

    Moving

JT, Gotta agree that moving is a good thing. We just moved from St. Louis to Scottsdale last Thursday. Left 12 degrees and snow to arrive to low 60's and sun. But yeah, the actual moving part sucks. Think flat tire on the trailer towing my car in the middle of nowhere New Mexico as the sun is starting to go down. Oh what's that, no spare??
  11. Great news.! One more thing for us all to be rejoicefull for during this time of year. Edited because I still can't spell.....
  12. Thanks! No gloves needed, just clean your hands off before it sets. Then again I am a bit of Neanderthal, so perhaps plastic glovie things would be a good idea. Not sure if I mentioned it in the other thread, but once you get the epoxy where you want it on the grips be sure to take them off the frame before the epoxy cures or you can very easily epoxy your grip panels directly to the frame. Have a great New Year yourself!!
  13. Or, perhaps they have seen me shoot and just don't want people to think it is the gun that is the problem.
  14. KS, Here ya go. I just got back from the range so the gun is till dirty. I did remove the stipling on the back and undercut the beavertail. I also, since the first photo removed the stipling on the front and am using skate tape which I much prefer. If I don't put the dremel down soon though I'm going to wind up in a 12 step program. Saul does this to his grips, as does Henning. In fact if you go to Henning's website he has a short vid on how he does it.
  15. Here is a thread on the subject.... http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...mp;#entry652788
  16. Not formally Team T (for all I know) but: http://www.tanfoglio.it/catalogo.php?tipologia=1&id=28 Hope your Italian is better than mine. Then there is also this from some guy named Eric. I hear he shoots a Tanfo......... fairly well. http://www.ericgrauffel.net/shop/product_i...f0bbd885f3f026c
  17. I feel so........................inadequate.
  18. I have to say I have never heard of them. I know they make rifle scopes but not red dots for handguns. Pesonally to me, that means I wouldn't be trying it. I use this forum as a very, very good barometer of what does and does not work.
  19. I was just checking this site out after seeing it listed on Henning's website. Am pretty intrigued but at 52 and surgeries to two shoulders and a knee I don't see me walking 100 yards on my hands anytime soon. I remember burpees from my wrestling days. Barf bags should be standard equipment.
  20. That tanks guy. Like others here I have similar issues. Juvenile diabetes has brought me the joy of proliferative retinopathy to compound my not so great vision. Heading for my fourth laser surgery sometime in the next 30 days. Yee-haa The good news is it was the perfect way to convince Ms. Neomet of my need for an open gun....... Hang in there and I hope the vision keeps coming back.
  21. An open gun since Santa won't send me some 25 year old's eyes. This thread reminds me of one of the great Steve Martin skits.. http://www.livevideo.com/video/A2497688B98...eve-martin.aspx
