    Bruce Lee Zen

I don't usually comment much on this forum. I just enjoy reading the posts here, but this quote really hit home with me. I appreciate the post. I would also like to thank BE for the Maku Mozo e-mails. They hit close to home almost daily.
  2. Ok, I think I understand. So basically Zen meditation is simply a way to quiet your mind, learn to focus, and be more aware. Well, I meditate this way often, but I was simply makin sure that I wasn't hindering the full effect. And by the way, your absolutely right: that little voice in my head really won't shut up!
  3. So, it's not a totally religious experience? It's more a state of awareness and consciousness, is that right? It's just I have always heard the word Zen as it relates to Buddism(unsure about the spelling there). I am not trying to insinuate that I believe the practice of Zen to be wrong, but will I reap the full benefits of Zen?

    Use Of Zen

Ok, I know I'm pretty new here but I have read alot of very interesting stuff on here about Zen. Now, I can see that it has alot of practical value. So, my question is this: Can I as a Christian, practice some of the attributes and attitudes of Zen? or is Zen something that you must give yourself to completely to in order to make use of it? I really am eager to know. However, I would prefer to stay away from any religious debate. Thanks in advance!
  5. Yeah I will be there with several friends as well. You guys meeting at the USPSA booth? See ya there!
  6. Ok, everyone I know I'm fairly new to this forum so, if this is in the wrong spot please move it where it should be. Anyway, my question for those wiser than I is: I have a friend at college who is very interested in shooting IDPA and USPSA, however, due to a very tragic car accident he is confined to a wheel-chair. Now, he is not paralyzed, he simply can't walk. So, is there any reason that he would be unable to shoot either of these sports? I mean, what do the rules say about things of this nature? Are there any provisions in these two shooting disciplines for handicapped shooters? Please, any feedback will be most helpful and appreciated! Thanks again!
  7. Hey, thanks for the help! I appriciate it! This place really is cool!
  8. I have a Glock 17, and I would like to put a different recoil spring in the gun to help dampen the recoil. (I know there's not much.) I judt dont know what pound spring to use. I am also thinkig about a tungsten guide rod. Any thoughts?
  9. Although I know absolutely nothing about installing a after-market baseplate, I did hear Dave Sevigny say that he used Arrenondo baseplates and he used a Glock 18 Mag spring. He said he loses one round of mag capacity, but they function reliably. Dont know if this will help.
  10. Thanks for the replies so far guys! Keep 'em coming! I appriciate all I can get! Great links you posted Josey! Thanks again!
  11. Hey, everyone I know I'm new here, but I have something I think you folks can help me with. I am fairly new to shooting, and am VERY new to shooting USPSA/IPSC. I have been shooting alot of IDPA however, and have been told that I am very good. I don't see it that way as I am only an expert (and not a very good one a that). But as I shoot more matches and see more of the shooting sports, I feel like this is definitely something I could do for a living. My question is, I guess, how do I get noticed enough to pick a sponsorship. Or is that even possible? I know this probably seems hilarious to most of you, but I am deadly serious. This is what I want. How do I get there? Any advice is helpful! Thanks!
