  1. Welcome! Already gone to the dark side eh? That was quick. Nice blaster.
  2. Perhaps a Barry without the holes drilled in it would work? I think the dustcovers are the same with as S_Is so it should line up on center alright and you could adjust the heigt by where you drill the holes in the mount. Just thinkin' out loud here.....
  3. My father, Walter Korzep passed away tonight at age 85, succumbing to the ravages of Parkinsons and ultimately renal failure. He passed away peacefully with my mother by his side. He served with the 168th regiment of the 34th Division as an infantryman during WWII being with the first troops that landed in North Africa. He fought at Kasserine Pass, Hill 609, Monte Casino and Anzio. He earned two Bronze Stars and two Purple Hearts. Dad was a person of few words who taught me how to be a man by deed rather than discourse. He was an honorable man who had just celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary. A man who showed me that you could not only turn plowshares into swords but swords back into plowshares. I hope to be half the man he was. My dad was always my hero and the world is a lesser place at his passing.
  4. Angus built my TS and it is flat out amazing to shoot. I had him work on it before I shot the gun so can't speak as to the improvement over stock but great workmanship and like I said, a great pistol. I've also heard lots of good things about Matt's work.

    Tom Cruise...

What I want to know is how you guys made it all the way through the clip. What an elitist, wack-a-doo closet case. I'd rather listen to Paris Hilton talk. I think she at least gets that she is a dolt.
  6. Sorry 'bro. Losing your dog is losing a loyal friend. Got an Aussie myself.

    Back pain!

Back pain tanks. As others have said I would be concerned about the possibility of a disc injury. I'm sure your doc has considered this as he has the 8 plus years of schooling and I'm not a doctor but only play one on forums. That being said......... if pt/chiro doesn't resolve the issue I'd personally ask if he thought an MRI would be appropriate to rule out disc impingement on a nerve root. edited because I was too lazy to hit spellcheck
  8. In my mind's eye at least, it would seem to make it easier to show clear for us leftys. I always feel clumsy rotating the gun counterclockwise as I reach over my strong hand to pull the slide back and show clear.
  9. So here I am ready to sip the koolaid and there are too many flavors! I get that the Racing Red is a hot color but Photochromic? Polar 3FX? Other colors for shooting in the bright AZ sun or under the Kleig lights of Tuesday Night Steel? Its a little easier if I make the wrong pick for sunglasses at the 7-11 at $6.99 a pair.
  10. A little help here please... Are the Rydons using colored prescription lenses or do the script lenses "clip" in behind the tinted lenses? I'm impressed by the reviews here however that is a chunk o change for shooting glasses.
  11. Yup, almost certainly. I was in a B-17 once and was amazed at how small they actually are. I'd bet a modern fighter is about the same size.
  12. Plus you don't have to worry about augering your open gun into a prop turning it into very expensive shards of plastics and scattered electonic servos and receivers.
  13. This is one of the reasons that I wish there was a way to effectively color brass. Have a uniform standard and this sort of thing probably wouldn't happen. Of course there is my main reason which is so I know what brass I am picking up as I crawl around on my knees.

    Rule #1

Hopefully she gets even by talking him into frying bacon naked. I'm personally not a big fan of handing a newbie a .50 so they can hurt themselves and maybe put a second round who knows where.
  15. Sweet! Not sure if you should shoot it or frame it and hang it on the wall. Well, not really.... you should shoot the bejezus out of it but sure is nice looking!
  16. "So Mister Neomet, can you tell us exactly what happened to your hands?" (Asked as they apply the burn cream and bandages.) "Well the course description said to engage T1 through T4 through the barrel port with two shots each....." Very cool shot. Now that would be neat in poster quality.
  17. Fine... tell me the day after I order 2,000 somewhere else. Funny, I spend enough time on his site and I never looked to check out his brass prices. Dang good!
  18. You are going to need more gas if you run 121s. Might make the comp work better also. Not sure how much more (someone can probably chime in here with that info) but I would guess 7.8 or so???
  19. If it were me, and it will be soon enough , I would just slap a RN 124 CMJ on top of 7.5 of 7625, use a 10 pound spring and shoot 5,000 rounds before I did anything. Not even sure I would do anything after the first 5,000. I used to race and learned the painful lesson of changing things "to make it better". My time would have been better spent working on my driver skills rather than figuring out a way to save 16 ounces of unsprung weight. JMHO and I am sure you are going to love the new pistola and the process of learning it. edited to add the obligatory warning that the load stated is just what I would use, not a recommendation or endorsement. May cause your hair to catch on fire, eczema, hemmoriods, or increased desire to sing at karaoke bars.

    Use Of Zen

Well said Leam. I've seen a number of people interested in Buddhism decide it was not the path for them when they were explained the true meaning of nirvana, that it is not an uninterrupted high (as one person told me). Well, that and the part about doing 111,111 full body prostrations as the first step towards that goal. Here is to a great thread guys. My non-dualistic mind does not see what appears to be my beverage as anything at all, but it sure tastes like a nice chardoney to me!
  21. I've seen things you people wouldn't believe; Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion, I watched C-Beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those... moments... will be lost in time. Like tears in the rain... Time to die Absolutely one of the best scenes of any movie ever. I've been trying to describe it to Ms. Neomet to the point that she has agreed to watch the movie and she really dislikes sci-fi. Hope I can get the origional version as I think the voice-over is a big part of the feel of the movie.
  22. That and he had a real quizzical look on his face when they read the part of the course description that said "Start with hands in surrender position. " You need some sleep bro'!
  23. Here is a closeup of the only shooter I ever knew who didn't mind shooting indoors. Problem was that whenever anyone started talking about mousefart loads he would circle the range looking for the perpetrator which was a little distracting.
  24. When you take the slide off does it actually start to float away in the air if you don't hold it down? Sweet looking shooter!!

    Use Of Zen

Thich Nhat Hanh probably said it best with no spiritual or religious implications when he said "When you do dishes, just do dishes." Of course the subject is far deeper, and his explanation far more eloquent than the simple line I have quoted but I think it gets to the truth of the matter in a completely secular manner. (Truth in advertising disclaimer: While not a Zen Buddhist I am a practitioner of Vajrayana Buddhism so my views may be skewed. Or not. )
