  1. OK.....so its as I figured......USPSA can't really do anything. I don't agree with the host range's decision to ban both parties but today that seems to be the status quo. Cops almost always arrest both parties in a domestic violence dispute and just about all schools have a zero tolerance policy on fighting regardless of who started it. Yeah.....the guy that swung first was put in charge of evening out the squad list and went about it the wrong way and was creating a disturbance. He was moving and telling people instead of asking. People go to these matches to shoot with their buddies and prefer not be seperated. The guy that got hit said he didn't want to move squads unless his buddy was moved as well. Well that is what started it....and the squadmaster got all bent out of shape. One guy was a senior and the other was a super senior. And the super senior threw the punch. How you like them apples? So now we have a guy that became victim of circumstance who cannot shoot our state match because of the position the host range took on the incident.
  2. But would that apply here? The host range followed a zero tolerance policy regardless of how this played out. They did not even consider his side of what happened and just banned both parties. I am talking about the recipient of the punch. The one who did not start or instigate this situation.
  3. Here is the story in a nutshell.....Prior to the start of a local match during signup and squadding two shooters got into a heated altercation over squadding. Some words were exchanged and one shooter stormed off mad. Less than a minute elapsed and that shooter returned out of the clubhouse and lunged and swung at the other striking him across the chin and several bystanders quickly intervened to break it up. The shooter that threw the punch was sent home and disciplinary action was started by USPSA and the host range of which he was a member. USPSA deemed it necessary to place him on probation. The host range terminated his membership and he was banned from the range. Well.....the host range also decided it was a good idea to ban the other shooter who was the recipient of the punch although that individual tried to take the high road and avoid confrontation. Seems the host club had a zero tolerance policy on fighting and decided both should be banned from the property. Yeah....I know......plenty of drama:huh: My question is this........if the state match is being held at this range. Can the host facility still ban him from the facility and not allow him to shoot the sanctioned match of which he is a member? Common sense tells me yes but I interpret the rule book a bit different in rule 3.3 below. Looks like the host range may need to get legal document preventing him from coming? How should this play out? WWKGD? 3.3 Applicability of Rules: USPSA matches are governed by the rules applicable to the discipline. Host organizations may not enforce local rules except to comply with legislation or legal precedent in the applicable jurisdiction. Any voluntarily adopted rules that are not in compliance with these rules must not be applied to USPSA matches without the express consent of the President of USPSA.
  4. You can add the +6 tube from a Benelli to the Win/FN barrel nut and it is flush with the end of the 26" barrel and it will hold 10 in the tube.
  5. Seeing as you already have that gun setup and working for you. I'd get the 26" vent rib barrel from FN or Winchester and cut it if you feel that 4" shorter works better for you. The 22" barrel on the SX2 or SLP weights almost 45 ounces due to the straight contour and thick barrel wals. The tapered and thin walled vent rib barrel weighs in at 35.8 ounces and changes the entire balance of the gun for the better. And for me.....I prefer the vent rib sight picture. Others like Brian Payne like sighting through the channel in the cantilever mount. But thats what I would do.
  6. For anyone that has done the SureCycle upgrade to your FN,SX2,SX3,or Browning Gold....can you comment on what was done and if you think it was worth doing? I know they do something with the piston and some polishing but not real sure what is involved.
  7. Way to go Francisco ......you're famous .......they gave you a good plug for your bracelets too. Can I order an autographed bracelet?
  8. Finally done with the SX3. It started life as a 26" Composite chambered for 3" only. The barrel has been cut from 26" to 22" and rethreaded for the invector plus chokes. The extension is the Nordic +4 and is flush with the end of the barrel. Capacity is 8 in the tube and has the Nordic follower in it. I tig welded up the lifter and finished it to a mirror shine to ease damage on the thumb from any mishap with the weak hand load. Pics show the 10/22 front sight milled nicely into the rib. Front sight is a TruGlo .060" fiber optic . Bolt release is the Progressive Arms model that used to be made by Progressive Machine and Tool. It attaches and covers the button with double stick tape. There is another company making the bolt releases that are a bit nicer now. Jamie McReynolds is making the Xcc button. Xtreme Competition Concepts. Very nice and is now available. Finished weight of the gun with the 22" barrel is 6lbs.13oz.
  9. The CPWSA bunch is looking forward to making it. We will all try and have our entires in by the early bird deadline. We know this match will rock
  10. Brownells had them in stock last week. I like doing business with Brownells. But if CPWSA carried them....I'd get it from him.
  11. I shoot a Noveske 17" 1/7 with rifle length gas. Its a custom run they do for MSTN that I added more fluting to to shave some more weight. Called the JLT profile. Also very hard to get. The barrels are very durable and retain accuracy unlike any other barrel I have shot. I'm into this one at 5800 rounds and and don't show hardly any throat erosion and it still shoots half minute like the day I got it. The Sabre 1/8 stainless barrels work very good. I had one before this one and was very pleased. It was a little more finicky about what ammo it needed to shoot sub moa though.
  12. AMEN Brah.....had a good time yesterday with the "Usual Supsects"........always a pleasure
  13. She is absolutely adorable. My little girl is due in August. What an awesome gift.
  14. I have seen and heard the Pandora Sysyem first hand and must say it is the most impressive in sound reduction that I have heard to date. Very light weight and the Pandora Brake as a stand alone is very efficient. I've got two Advanced Armament .308 cans that I thought were the heat until I heard the Pandora. I want to contact David and see if he can retrofit my 762 SD for the Pandora Brake. I like the brake alot.
  15. I got two of them from Tango 5 and they work awesome and are well made.
  16. Way to go Shred!!!! That rocks!!!!
  17. Linda......thanks for all you do!!! I'm with Ty on this one. You definitely work your tail off for us and I appreciate you. To those that didn't get in. You should be early on the wait list and feel confident that anything under 50 will still land you a spot at the match. Look forward to seeing all that are attending. I cannot wait.
  18. Not yet which is odd.....he usually responds in two days or less. I will follow up with him. ETA: Just got a response and he said he is still waiting on Glock to submit the necessary request for approval for the new model to be added. Nothing has been done on Glocks behalf even after a request from John Sounds like Glock is the hold up.
  19. That was a class by Tactical Response held here at South River Gun Club in Georgia. James Yeager is the owner and they used to teach a good class. This video has been posted all over the web in the last few days. Looks like they just crossed the line and cost themselves their reputation and alot of future business.
  20. Erik Lund(Bear1142) has had one for a while testing it. I shot it the other day and was not impressed. I can't for the life of me understand why companies keep building low power scopes with the reticle in the front/first focal plane. On 4x the reticle is too large and busy and obscures most of the target and on 1x it is too small for fast close work. The illumination sucks in the daylight too. But the glass looked pretty decent. I'm sure he'll post his thoughts if he sees this thread.
  21. WAY TO GO Kaci and Blake. Good job!!! I predict Kaci will become the first lady to make GM in Open. Y'all keep up the hard work.
  22. Unbelievable......way to go bro.
  23. Assuming he kept it cool and turned it properly.....you won't have any trouble. I've had barrels lightened and fluted that came back shooting better than before. I've never had one come back shooting worse. My smith uses a mist type cooling system which keeps the barrel very very cool. I've turned them down to .700 under the handguards and fluted it as well. JP used to do a barrel that was .500 under the handguards. I prefer somewhere between .680-.720 under the handguards with flutes and .740 in front of the block with more flutes. I like my barrels fairly light. The one I shoot in competition now is a Noveske 18" that was fluted after the fact and it shoots 1/2 moa after 5500 rounds.
