  1. I went ahead and broke down and got an SX3 after having such awesome success with the FN. It was well worth the splurge. It is a full pound lighter than the FN and just plain looks good and feels good. Oh yeah.....and it shoots just as nice. My Benelli M1 with Nordic +5 tube weighs 7.3# and the SX3 with the Nordic +5 tube weighs in at 7.05#. The FN the way it ships is 8.05#. The shortes barrel available on the SX3 is 26". It will go out after the FNH match to be chopped to 22". Then it will be complete. I milled out the load ports on both and did some relief on the handguards and they load like a dream. And thanks to the guys at Nordic for putting their new 12ga. follower in the shooters bags at the KY multigun match. The SX3 now has their new follower. I also milled a 10/22 sight into the rib of the SX3 for those precise slug shots and use the TruGlo universal fiber optic bead with .060" red fiber. Makes for a very precise sight picture when the rear leaf is flipped up and also fast for birds when its down. The FN got the Briley bolt handle since Nordics was not out at the time but the SX3 has the Nordic piece. I like them both. I didn't think the day would come but the Benelli is sold and gone. I'm gonna miss her. Nahhh....not really. In the pics the FN is on top and the SX3 is below it.
  2. Cy......I'm sorry for your loss. Words cannot descibe how we bond with our pets. I wish you and your family the best.
  3. I like to run as slick as I can for gear. Usually I run a set of coupled PMAGS or an Extended PMAG but like to keep an Oh Crap mag in my pocket in the front of my Eotac pants or in the Ready Tac pouch just in case. Most stages don't require but one reload and several mags usually are not needed.
  4. I like the Ready Tactical kydex pouch that CPWSA sells. It holds the mag either bullets forward or back and is easy on and easy off.
  5. It was the stippled grips wasn't it? Good job man!
  6. I made it......y'all just lazy Didn't rain until we were done. A little sticky but yet another good EAGC match.
  7. Here is a pic of a 30 degree bevel I did on mine with the mill and to show where I trimmed the handguard back. Loads very smooth now. This is on the SLP. I will be done with the SX3 by the end of this week and plan to use it at KY State. The SLP weighs 8# even with the 22" barrel. The SX3 weighs 6.7# with a Nordic +5 tube and a 26" barrel. My Benelli weighs 7.15# with a Nordic +5 tube and 21" barrel.
  8. The FN pistol grip stock will be out early fall. You can also use the Speedfeed stock for an 11-87 with a little modification. This is a link to a tutorial that Mike Darby did to convert one. Jump to link of Mike Darbys tutorial
  9. Awesome work Ben! Number 1 on the top 20 in Production with 100%. Very very cool. I tell people all the time that you get out of this sport what you put into it. Your work definitely shows. Quite aweome!
  10. Way to go Ben......looks like you made the 100 club. You are now number 1 on the top 20 list. Thats freakin cool.
  11. Thanks Gary......see you guys soon. Hope the match attendance spiked some more. Looking forward to it again.
  12. I'm a bit confused. I understand time plus....no problem. I assume since time plus scoring is being used that power factor is not an issue. Can we shoot 9mm and be fine? What will be the purpose of the chrono if power factor does not matter? Basically....I just need to know which pistol to bring. Of course I prefer my 9mm.
  13. I like the 135 Zeroes alot. They are just hard to find consistently. But they shoot really nice and are very accurate. I load mine over 3.6 grains of Solo 1000 for 131pf in my G34.
  14. Adhesive really isn't necessary. Proper installation is the best method. I'll show you at KY. But always keep spare rod and a small butane torch or lighter for change or repair. I think I've had 2 come out in 100k rounds.
  15. I LOVE me some Benchmark. Thats my one stop shop rifle powder.
  16. Happy Birthday to the man in blue and everyone else. Hope its a good one!!!
  17. Anybody bought one that can comment on how they like it. I'm likin mine. Just saw this thing added in the New Products section of CPWSA.
  18. Todd, Wonder if I can get a manual for it? Yeah......but expect it to be out dated
  19. Jack.....the military acronym for that small chunk of metal on the end of your slide is an MRI. Muzzle Reference Indicator
  20. Great first state match at Steel City/Brocks Gap from the Alabama crew. Even with the few ugly showers that plagued us in the morning. Randall,Steffan,Peter,Dave, all the volunteering RO's and anyone else involved to make it happen. All did an awesome job. Thanks to Bill for doing stats and to Cindy for doing lunch. We have great section coordinators in Georgia too who absolutely love and support our sport. And to Mark Ramsey/ima45DV8 for accepting the duties of RangeMaster which I knew he could do so well and proud to call him a close friend. Despite the late start due to a missing Match Director.....the match still finished on time. You had us all worried Webby,we thought something bad happened,it was so unlike you to be late and unreachable. Glad you were ok and just overslept. Its alright....that kind of stuff happens. Just always seems to happen at the worst of times. Hats off to Squad 2. We had a good time. We all fed off each other and made the day fun as hell. I enjoyed shooting with all of you guys. And Thanks to Kevins wife for the awesome peanut butter power balls. I liked the hoser format of the match. No hard cover targets anywhere and only 5 no shoots in the whole match. Just lots of wide open targets. Made it fun for all classes and skill levels but still just as challenging. Also made it real easy replacing targets after getting wet from the rain. I also thought the mugs/chalices were a cool idea for trophies. Good thinking Randall. We know you are a fan of the Chalice. They just seemed a little small for your taste. Look forward to coming back to Steel City/Brocks Gap again next year if you guys are willing to do it again. Randall.....you might should sleep at the range next year
  21. I think I'm finally recovered enough to post after being so overworked for the 3 days of this match. I'll pretty much echo what Whiskey1 said. The BRM3G is the toughest multigun match I have shot yet. Last year and this year. This year was slightly toned down from last year but still tough. I think with any new match there is a learning curve of what can and cannot be done to succeed. Fort Benning had some growing pains but learned tremendously from every mistake in order to grow and make their match the premier match on the East Coast. My hopes are that a few things will change to make the BRM3G match more enjoyable. with that being said.....I see a bright future with the Rock Castle Shooting Center. The owners seem to definitely be connected with the right folks politically and in the industry. Thats always a good thing. It was great to see the President of the NRA standing in the background of a stage as we were shooting it and taking the time to talk to as many competitors as possible. Sponsors also stepped up to make this match a huge success. My hats off to Sabre for supplying so many bodies and such great prize donations. My Hats are off to all the other sponsors who make multigun what it is. This sport would not be growing like it is without your support and for that a huge THANK YOU is in order. Hats off to Andy and his crew for taking the initiative to put this thing on for 2 years in a row. Mike did a fantastic job as Rangemaster. And Helen,Kathleen,Andy's Wife and the rest of the stats crew did a great job filling in for Linda while she attended duties at her home club. Barrett......you guys really know how to put on a good party. That was the best pig pull I have ever attended. Absolutley delicious. As long as my schedule allows and my travelling crew is up for a repeat I will be back again next year.....but in better shape.
