  1. Even Colt has figured out the gas port to make 10.5's reliable. I've shot over 200 different MK18's (10.5's), suppressed and unsuppressed. Not a single jam or problem with M855.
  2. Sounds like a good replacement for the KAPS venue. I miss shooting 10 stages (5 and 5) in a day, once a month.
  3. U Turn. Skorpian! http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2082921
  4. It's UP, It's Gooooooood. http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2055825
  5. They are on the "watch list" for sure. I watched some of their "promotional videos" from the website. nice. Shot gun shooting, three targets, in the dark, from the hip. These guys are the UMN's! Ultimate Mall Ninja's.
  6. I don't think this one has been posted before. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3t0gD8yBBbg...feature=related You thought getting sweeped from rolls were bad? How about during transitions...DOWN RANGE! Notice the camera pans as the shooter moves. There is some body holding the camera. Uh, WTF OVER!
  7. OMG I'm still ROTFLMOA! I can't bring myself to read the comments. Someone PLEASE post a video response to this crap. Like an El Prez in 6 seconds (the same time it took them to put two rounds and an armadillo downrange.
  8. I will be there. I feel that it is my duty as a kentukian (even if I'm a transplant) to attend to show my support. I have an easy up canopy to loan out if needed.
  9. I could shoot better with my G23 (production) than I could my Edge. Took some time to anylize why, then I swapped limited guns to a short dust cover, light slide 2011. I like the COG to be at my hand, not the front sight. The benefit of the LDC is that you can do more with it during the build process. Stroke it, mill it, groove it or remove it.
  10. I too am on the "love LSWC" train. My 200 grainers usually come out to 203-204gr. Loaded with 4.3 of Clays I'm getting 178PF. Smokes less than my .40major lead load that's for sure. Love the clean holes.
  11. Did you ask the HD people if they have security cameras in the parking lot?
  12. Shooting 178PF. 17# MS. Angle cut FPS. I started with a 16 minus 4 coils. Then tried 14 and liked it. If 14 is good, how about 12.5? Tried it. It shot just a tad (barely noticeable) flatter but I was getting a really strong impulse in the hands compared to the 14. Decided that I like the softer feeling 14. Gun is really flat even with the 14. I just thought that the 12.5 felt really harsh. It was quite noticeable.
  13. Somebody asked me how much I'd charge to checker a frame. He coughed when I told him. Yep, it's expensive, because I don't 'really' want to do it but if you want it done that bad then I will. That's for a hand cut. If I can get a mandrel made it may change things.
  14. I've been meaning to make a frame holding fixture for a rotary table. I know what it looks like (in my head) and I've seen one for use in a 5 axis CNC, I just need to cut it.
  15. I saw one listed on "another site" too and would really like to get it but funds are allocated elsewhere.
  16. I used a bull barrel because I don't like the look of the full 6 inch slide. I cut the spring plug area back and use a 5 inch recoil system. I can turn the bull barrel down pretty quick to shave weight. The flutes Don't really take enough weight off for the time expense.
  17. I guess a slump was bound to happen. Been shooting this sport for less than 2 years and last month I hit a little speed bump. My mental game was in the toilet. I had more mental errors in one match than I had since I started. I started to look at specifics. What had caused a change, what was different. I started reading one of Saul's books and realized that I had been doing a lot of things right. Many things in that book I had been doing already, regarding the mental aspects. That is, until recently. I realize now that I had been too complacent with my local match. I was taking myself too seriously and ended up putting stress on myself to do well/have fun. Then it hit me that those two things DO go together, when they are the other way around. If I have fun, I do well not the other way around. I had fun at the Pro/Am because I didn't put any stress on myself or preset any expectations. I just shot. I'm a recreationalist. I'm competitive by nature, but know that my allotted time and money will limit my success in shooting. What IS, however, limitless is enjoyment. Last month I had two terrible matches, one IDPA and one USPSA. I did a little thinking, a little reading, a little dry firing and today shot a good match. I had fun. Although I could have done better (faster/better hits) I didn't make any major mental errors that led to self destruction. I did do something mentioned in the book though. I was the first shooter, made my plan but quickly changed it to a more aggressive plan. Made ready. Beep. Shot my first plan. It went ok, but my old plan (the one shot for score) proved to be 2.5 seconds slower. After the match I shot the plan I "wanted" to shoot and proved that it was indeed faster. No real biggie but something I can work on for sure. I know that shooting on the move is faster. I can, and do, shoot on the move. This was my first plan: This one was fun too. Pretty basic but I put my SS magwell to good use.
  18. Glad to hear you had a good match. I've been reading Saul's book. Shot a match today with a completely different mindset. More like when I got started. Just out to have fun. It works.
  19. Hand was fully in the pocket, to the wrist before shooting resumed. I wasn't trying to game it by touching the mag to my pocket, it was fully seated. Steel and I just got back from the OH IDPA state match. There was a stage (the bridge) that I saw an advantage for a RWR. If my magazine wouldn't have puked the last round I would have shown that a RWR was CLEARLY faster than running draw and doing an ER. Same scenario, it was while traversing behind a wall. It was only about 3 steps, but that was all I needed. Actually, I think I did 3 RWR or Tac Reloads during the match. I always look for an opportunity to pull those out of my bag. I think RWR are kind of fun and they are the coolest to practice because I don't have to pick mags up off the floor, and they are quieter too (no mag drops).
  20. Just a guess, but mic the bullet diameter to see if it's .001 bigger than your old bullets. When I switched to lean in .40 the bullets were actually .402". I'd check to see how they do in the barrel.
  21. That's funny, cause that's what it'll cost you.
  22. This was my first attempt. Took me about 5 minutes. http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=1028097
  23. I just had this exact same thing. KKM. It was locking up on the center, instead of the muzzle. Lathe and paper is all it took to get just a hair of material off and the lock up is smooth. Sounds like your barrel was in tension (leaf spring) while in lock up. The 1911 bible also covers this.
  24. I round the bottom of the strut and if the Ti cap has a long post, shorten it. The bottom of the strut doesn't fit very well into the cap as is from the package. Looks to be cut from flat stock. I like them and you can use them as is, but nothing is ever good enough "as is".
  25. I love that game. I solved all of them, then I looked at other peoples solutions and about fell out of my chair. The catapults, bulldozers and trucks are impressive. Now I'm going back through and re-solving them with my new-found knowledge. Someone even made a cannon.
