  1. I started production division with a G17, then a G34, went to an XD tactical custom from Canyon Creek (should have kept that one), then to the M&P. I finally got a Shadow from the custom shop after my M&P had a hickup 2 days before the Gator Classic and have been shooting it ever since, even at the Nationals. I purchased and XDM 5.25, didn't like the factory trigger, put a springer kit in it and a thinner dawson front sight and I still didn't shoot it as good as my Shadow. I sold the XDM and if I get another production gun it will be another shadow. It is by far the best production gun for me, and several people who have shot mine ordered one for themselves.
  2. Couldn't find an FNS .40 from any of the distributors, so I decided to wait until the no thumb safety version comes out. I heard that's in April.
  3. I used 6.8 of auto comp in an STIi competitor with 3 popple holes for a 170 PF and it grouped .75" at 25 yds. In the M&P open gun it took 6.7 gr. of autocomp to make 170 PF. It also has 3 popple holes.
  4. It would be nice if you could put the accuracy data with your load data. Just cause it meets power factor doesn't mean it shoots worth a darn. I alway include accuracy with my data even though sometimes it is with different guns, because I can see a trend.
  5. I just purchased a P30 that has Bruce Gray's action job, and Heinie straight 8 sight. I love this gun it is an awesome piece of machinery. I included some load and accuracy data from my shoot today. I didn't have inserts for my ransom rest so I benched it. Wasn't happy with my 25 yd groups so I shot it again at 15. My eyes just aren't what they used to be. HK P30.pdf
  6. I ordered an FNS .40. Hope to have it in a few days to do an evaluation.
  7. I run Bayou Bullets 135 in my P30 and the barrel is clean as a whistle. I use 3.9gr of AA2 @ 1.130. Accurate and makes power factor of 135.
  8. I have done considerable testing in 9mm and 38 super with 124/125 gr bullets and here's what I've found (in order of accuracy): Hornady HAP's are very hard to beat for consistancy and accuracy Zero #161 .356" JHP 125's are very close to the HAPs and considerably cheaper Zero #136 conical JHP 125's are very good and group very close to the #161 Nosler 124 JHP's are very accurate but pricey. They are being used by some bullseye shooters. Zero #162 .355" JHP 125's are almost as good and depending on your barrel, may shoot as good as the 136 MG's and PD's did not group as well in my pistols (4) as the bullets above but if you need some in a hurry, are more likely to be available. Remember, when you talk about accuracy, everyones definition is not the same. If you are concerned about extreme accuracy at ranges beyond 25 yds, or are just an accuracy nut like me, then the above data will serve you well. If you are shooting steel or tactical shoots at 7-20 yds and/or don't bother to carefully work up loads for each of your pistols then it's not nearly as relavent. Just for reference: the best bullets listed above, in carefully worked up loads, fired from a Ransom rest, or carefully sandbagged have fired many groups under 1" @25yds, and under 2" @ 50 yds in my pistols Thanks for the information! The Zero 161s have been my bullet of choice for several years, and will easily stay under an inch at 25, and 2" at 50, but, at $110k, and lack of availability, I was looking for an alternative. Maybe I'll order a couple k of the PDs. If nothing else, I can use them for "hoser" targets, and save the Zeros for longer ranges. I"ve done extensive testing with my Ransom rest, Hornady XTP JHP were the best, then Zero, then PD, then MG. I order PD's 10K at a time now and last cost was $78 per K. Best accuracy with this bullet was with N340 (5.0gr at 1.085) and Power Pistol (6.0 gr at 1.120). Do a search for my name and you will find some spreadsheets of the loads I tested. Best was .75" 5 shot group at 25 yds for 3 5shot avg.
  9. Buy once, Cry once, get an STI and be done with it.
  10. I load for my sons, and myself, and for friends who don't have equipment. I've been loading for 35 years and have never had an issue. I do tell my friends that there is no guarantee that the round will have a problem, I tell them to check primers because I have had some in backwards. I put them in 100 round boxes to check primers are seated and correct when I pull them out the ammo can. I also help them learn to load on my equipment so they can eventually get their own and load for themselves.
  11. I tried some Bayou Bullet 135's behind 3.9 of AA2 today, and they shot great. PF was 132 @ 1.150 on my test last month, but today I loaded them to 1.130 and they were more accurate. Felt really good, and the sight tracked great. Ran them through the Shadow, PM9, EAA, and HK P30. Very impressed with the feel and accuracy. Was able to clean the plate rack several times and head shots at 15 yds was all in the square box.
  12. 4.8 grs @ 1.082 is what I load my PD 124 jhp's. Very accurate and 130 power factor
  13. Autocomp here, 6.8 gr @1.165 with MG 124 jhp in m&p open gun and STI competitor.
  14. Ok here is my M&P pro load data. M&P Prod load data.pdf
  15. Did you get the BB 135gr. resized from .356 to .357? (from notes in PDF for Shadow with TG Powder it appears) I did and experiment trying some sized .357, and went back to .356. Wasn't much of an improvement to have to wait to get them sized different than normal.
  16. I use PD's 124 JHP's. Very accurate with my guns and loads. 5.4gr Power Pistol @ 1.120, 4.8 N340 @ 1.085, and 4.0 Tightgroup @ 1.120. The Power Pistol load shot 1.2" group in my M&P pro from my ransom rest at 25 yds.
  17. Yes, 4.8 to 5.0 of N330 at an OAL of 1.085 is the most accurate load I have found in my 9mm's, and it runs 1118 fps. Corrected the speed 5.0 was 1118 in my Dan Wesson.
  18. According to Lyman, the load they list as potentially most accurate, is the load they tested with that bullet the had the best standard deviation and extreme spread. Just because it had low numbers, doesn't necessarily make it the most accurate load for your gun. I've had SD's of 5 -7 that shot terrible, and some with an SD of 19 shoot a nice one hole group. So you just have to test for yourself to see what is best in your gun. If you do a search, I posted some spreadsheets with lots of tested data you may find interesting. I also post them at the reloading section on Bayoushooter website my local forum.
  19. I use bayou 135's @ 1.150 with 4.2 WSF in my Shadow. PF is 130-132 very accurate and clean.
  20. Load you some 125's and some 147's and do a bill drill using an ipsc or idpa target with a timer. Record the split times and make sure you track your front sight. That will tell you which one works for you in that gun. I track my sights better with 124's in jacketed and 135's bayou bullet.
  21. I have a 650 and a 550, been having them for years, I buy bullets, primers, and powders in large quantities to save money. My cost for 100 9mm JHP's is $11, and are accurate to boot. I bought my son a new 550 for christmas along with a tumbler, and media separator so he can start reloading at his house instead of having to come here when he needs to reload. I will continue to use Dillon products because of the no BS warranty and their great customer service.
  22. I use the 135's in my shadow and my single stack. This bullet is the best compromise for me between the sluggish feeling 147's and the snappier 125's. I find that with 4.2 grs of WSF I get a great performing load that works in all of my 9mm's. I have load data posted for Donnie's bullets if you do a search in the 9mm section. I use his bullets exclusively now because they work great and he is local to me..
  23. Pm your email and i'll send you all the load data for the m&p including comp'd 9 major.
  24. I worked up a load on a friends open m&p that Randy Lee built. MG 124jhp @ 1.165 with 6.7gr of WAC, consistant 170 pf and accurate too.
  25. I use PD 124 jhp's most accurate bullet out the several i tried 4.8 of N340@1.085
