  1. The noise reduction rating is measured in SNR, which equates to about 22 - 23 NRR. I was also looking at that other pair that you mentioned - the Silencer Plus. They offer better protection, but look bulky. That is issue I have with the Pro Ears; too bulky!
  2. I've gone through about six different pairs of ear pro over the course of four years, and have come to the conclusion that there is a serious void in the world of ear pro. Mostly, it's all Chinese made junk. I use the crap out of my ear pro, as I am on the range at least 4 - 5 days a week, so my ears probably see more use than most. I've used: Peltor 500 (sound great, broke within a few months), Walker Quad and Digital (poor seal, terrible sound quality, spotty bluetooth connection), Howard Leight Impact (good for the price, poor protection), Safariland Liberator HP (well made, but terrible sound quality, bad battery life), and MSA Sordin Supreme ProX (great quality, very comfortable, sounds great, but way too loud to use indoors). After wearing a couple different sets of Walkers for two weeks, I have slight ringing in my ears. Why can't someone make durable ear pro, with good sound quality, that offers good noise reduction, and is comfortable??? This brings me to Mepablu. It's an obscure German company that seems to have a good reputation with what little information that I could find online. For $300, I'm thinking of picking up a set of Silencer Exclusives with gel cups. It's a lot to spend on ear pro, but considering all the other money that is spent on this sport, what I spend to save my hearing is inconsequential. Does anyone here have any experience with this company or any of their products? If I don't go with these, then I'll probably just go big and get a set of Ops-Core Amp with the NFMI ear plugs. 3. That sucks to hear. I was really looking forward to picking up an Apex, but these primer issues are ridiculous. I've loaded thousands of rounds on my little XL750 without a single priming issue -- ever. There has to be a fix for this.
  4. I had the chance to put a few rounds through one at a match yesterday. Not sure where it fits into USPSA, but it really is an awesome gun to shoot. Trigger is phenomenal, and it shoots FLAT!!! If you have the money, why not?
  5. I noticed that as well. There's definitely a lot of movement going on there!
  6. My first, and as of now, only press is an XL750. Overall, it's been a great press and I've been able to crank out quite a few .40 cal rounds. Part of the reason I went with the XL750 is so that I don't have to spend as much time loading as I would with a 550. It seems that there is less opportunity for error on the 750. Another nice feature of the 750 is the option to upgrade as you get more into it. In addition to the mandatory case feeder, I recently picked up a bullet feeder and LOVE it! That said, looking back I wish I just got a 1100 instead of the 750. I'm now looking into getting an Apex. As they say, buy once cry once!
  7. Very true. My XL750 also took a little bit of fine tuning and upgrades to get it running correctly. After a couple years, I'm still refining my reloading process and equipment to get less failures and more consistency. It's good to hear that most are getting the primer system figured out. After checking out an Apex at a local reloading store, it definitely seems like a top notch machine. Build quality seemed second to none.
  8. These Mark 7 machines sound like the BMWs of reloading machines. When they are set up correctly, they fly; when something goes wrong, everything comes to a grinding halt! Looking forward to getting one!
  9. Awesome! Link didn't work. Try this one: https://www.facebook.com/rollsizer/
  10. I ordered mine last year. I actually forgot that I ordered it, then after (at least) a few months, I received an email that it had shipped. Patience is the name of the game in this sport.
  11. Same here. I haven't noticed any difference in super shiny brass verses brass that has only been wet tumbled, but to each their own. I ALWAYS use One Shot on my clean brass. It makes the press run so much smoother and doesn't hardly take any additional time. I'm not super familiar with the swaging process. If I were to wet tumble my brass without decaping the old primers, would swaging scrape out all the residue that's left behind in the primer pockets after they've been decaped? I'm looking to upgrade my press to a Apex 10 - which has a swaging station - so if I can get away with eliminating a step of the reloading process, then all the better.
  12. Same here. I discovered that my XL750 seats primers much better using brass that has clean primer pockets. Dry tumbling doesn't do anything to get my primer pockets clean, so I first de-prime my dirty brass on a Lee APP that I've hooked up to my case feeder. After that, I wet tumble the de-primed brass with steel pins, Lemi, and car wash/wax. After the brass dries off in the California sun, I'm able to size, prime and load the clean brass in one pass through my XL750. I try to get things done with the minimal amount of steps so I can spend my time doing something more productive. That said, I do plan on getting a Rollsizer to deal with all the Glocked brass that I load.
  13. So, what was the issue with the Evo's priming system when that machine first went into production? Was Mark 7 eventually able to iron out the priming issues in the later produced machines?
  14. Thank you for the review. It is much larger and louder than expected. Is it really as loud as it appears to be in the video? Any additional footage of the Xpress in operation?
  15. +2 on the bullets hitting the lever. If you switched to a different profile, maybe the new rounds are just barely bumping the slide stop lever. Have you filed down the inside of the lever, or just clearanced the followers?
  16. My Blue order actually arrived a day early. Ordered Monday, on my doorstep Wednesday!
  17. I ordered 2550 180 grain Blues today and got a shipping confirmation for delivery this Thursday. Boom!
  18. I agree. I shoot their 180 grain .40 cal for limited, and those were received in a few weeks. I had no idea that the 9mm would take so long.
  19. Just got a shipping notification from Blue Bullets for the 750 rounds of 9mm that I ordered in January. I ordered three different profiles to test loads on a carry optics gun, but if it takes five months every time I place an order, I may have to choose a different color coated bullet!
  20. I'm still waiting on my 750 rounds of 9mm from Blue Bullet that was ordered on January 14th.
  21. Man, they just can't get it right!
  22. Bringing this one back from the dead... To get back to the original question of the OP, has anyone else here actually done a side by side comparison of the Honcho against a Nemesis. After reading this thread, it looks like only one person has actually compared the two. Anyone else here have first hand experience with both guns???
  23. My limited gun with a Cheely is a little tight as well. A small amount of silicon lube freed it up a bit. However, what really helped was to adjust my draw stroke. I noticed that when I canted the gun forward just slightly during the draw, the gun would freely come out of the holster without hanging up. My Honcho does not have this problem.
