  1. I had a FART, but the noise was driving me crazy. Picked up a Rebel 17 which has a slightly smaller drum, but it's WAY quieter. The only other option for me would be a Harbor Freight cement mixer.
  2. I saw, but I had already paid for the military version. It's a game of patience in this sport! It's cool that we are getting some high quality options for shot timers these days: AMG, Shooters Global, now Kestrel. The older ones worked, but definitely not the highest quality.
  3. I hope to know soon! I've had one on order for a good long time. Can't be mad though -- they are at war.
  4. Yeah, could be. I'd like to try one out before I make that opinion to be sure.
  5. I might be late to the party on this one, but for anyone looking to pick up a new shot timer, this looks like a promising option.
  6. With .40, as long as you don't push the speed too hard, then no it's not.
  7. Good info. When my decapper jams up, it's because of one of two reasons: 1) The pin in the die was not set low enough causing the primer to push halfway out of the pocket. This would cause the casing to hang up on the plate as it gets pushed forward by the next casing. It took me a couple of adjustments to make sure I had the pin set very low. 2) The decapped casing wouldn't fall down the chute and ends up crooked on top of the shell plate. I believe this is a result of just running the machine too fast, however, I wonder if I would get more consistent drops if that hole were opened up slightly.
  8. Mine has been good for .40, however, if I run it too fast, I'll end up bending a pin. It's happened several times. Probably not the machine's fault, I was just pushing it too hard.
  9. If only it worked that well with .40! Nice set up.
  10. With my 750, the only way I can get consistently well seated primers is by loading brass with clean primer pockets. I tried wet tumbling without pins -- using only Lemishine and detergent -- but the primer pockets never got clean. The pins are unfortunately a necessary evil for me.
  11. Good info, thank you. It's too bad the 1100 doesn't have more stations, but the lower cost combined with Dillons reliable track record make it pretty appealing over the Apex 10.
  12. I'm still undecided between the Apex 10 and RL1100. I've been more than happy with my 750, and for the most part, it's worked flawlessly, but eventually I plan on automating. Because I've had such great luck with my 750, I'm somewhat inclined to stick with Dillon. The one thing that's really holding me back is the lack of stations behind the powder drop. Ideally, I would like to run a powder sensor without having to use a combination seating/ crimping die. Of the thousands of rounds I've loaded on my 750, I've NEVER had an issue with the powder drops (knock on wood). I can imagine that the powder measure on the 1100 is not much different, as is the priming system, which has also been consistently reliable. That said, is the powder sensor really necessary when you automate? If not, I would probably be inclined to save some money and forego the frustrations of the Apex 10 priming system and just go with the 1100.
  13. Called Dillon today. They said that they are 2 - 4 weeks out from shipping. They also said that there is very little that is similar to the old Ammobot. They bought the rights out, but "completely redid everything". Unfortunately, there still doesn't seem to be a way to run a powder check without combining seating and crimping.
  14. Anyone know if these have been "released" yet? As this is basically a rebranding of the Ammobot, what tweaks has Dillon made to this system over the original???
  15. Agreed. With the DAA turbo plate, any feeding issues that I had with my variable speed Dillon have been solved. I used to get a jam every 20 - 30 casings, now I get none -- ever. Easy $40 fix.
  16. It's not uncommon for a casing to get hung up on the shell plate when it's on it's way in. If I ever find a use for the APP again, I may call Lee and see if there is something I can do to get the issue sorted out. It is a cool little press, but it's very cheaply made. I think that if they put a little more effort into the manufacturing process, they would have hit a home run -- even if it was double the price.
  17. I used to do the same, but for some reason, the APP doesn't seem to like .40 brass. Even with all the tweaking and polishing of parts, etc, I was never able to get it to feed properly. The Rollsizer decapper took care of that problem!
  18. Yup, wrong thread! Thank you for answering anyways.
  19. Would the Primer Express alleviate any of the priming issues that everyone seems to be having with the Apex 10?
  20. Brownells also has Federal Match small rifle. 2k limit.
  21. I believe that H. Kim recently mentioned on one of the podcasts that Liquid Wrench dry lube works well on dies.
  22. Very cool set up. I'm always trying to make my reloading process more efficient, which is why I ordered the Rollsizer decayer a couple days ago. I've been using the Lee APP, but it doesn't seem to like .40 cal. I spend a good deal of time pushing brass through the shell holder. It's a pain. Definitely looking forward to the arrival of the Rollsizer de-capper.
  23. I had something similar. Dillon sent me a new stop switch. That didn't fix the problem, so for a little while longer I just lived with my case feeder not having the auto shut off feature. No big deal, but eventually I decided to contact Dillon again. They told me to send the unit back, but since I didn't have the original box, it was too much pain in the ass. Fast forward about three months and the auto shut off feature for no good reason started to function again. Still a very good case feeder and I will end up getting another one when I pick up a decapper.
  24. Loaded 500 rounds of .40 with zero issues. I can't say it's any quieter -- it's still a bunch of brass rolling around on a plastic plate -- but it is a big improvement over stock.
