  1. Makes sense, thank you! I prefer the Shadow 2 myself over the TSO and ended up picking up a 2011 for my SA race gun.
  2. I would say try out a few and see what suits you the best, then shoot that division and excel!
  3. I would say practice the DA/SA trigger pulls with lots of dry fire, then the red dot. All the best.
  4. The best advice I've received was to dry fire. When you think you've done enough, go do some more. Add in some live fire and practice draws. Repeat and succeed!
  5. They make a huge difference! I preferred to get the slide milled so the red dot sits lower. If it's for an EDC/"go to war" firearm, you cannot beat the Trijicon RM06 or RM07 models, in my opinion. For shooting sports, I like the Sig ROMEO1 or ROMEO3, depending on which shape you prefer. I prefer 3.25MOA since you can make it look "larger" if you use max brightness, whereas you can't make a 6MOA look any smaller for distance shooting. However for speed, it's hard to argue with a 6MOA dot. A few optic handguns I own/owned:
  6. For those who have converted the Shadow 2, what was the reason for not going with the TS or TSO?
  7. I've been satisfied so far, my DVC 3 Gun looks great when I took it apart. I misplaced the case and emailed CS, they sent me a older style hard case, free of charge. I have been able to speak to a rep every time I've called. I also like the fact that I'm only a 3 hour drive to them, in case I need something major.
  8. I would go with the DVC Open as others have suggested, you can run it with both. Also, Everglades Ammo sells 173PF 9mm Major ammo for a very reasonable price.
  9. Work great for me, but I got the MBX magazine tuned to be safe.
  10. Another option is the Sig ROMEO 3, I believe it works on the same mount for the RTS2.
  11. I have a "hot spot" when shooting my STI DVC 3 Gun, on my thumb where it meets the webbing. I spoke to STI and sent them pictures to see if anything is out of spec.
  12. Thank you! I see you’re in Hurst, where do you normally shoot and also compete?
  13. Welcome Mo, good to see you here as well ?
  14. UPDATE: While I enjoyed my P320 X5, I've always wanted to try out a 2011 but could not justify the price. Finally, I decided just to go for it and picked up a STI DVC 3GUN 9mm! Now, I'm already thinking about picking up an Atlas Chaos open gun. Slippery slope indeed.
  15. I’m using a 14lb ISMI recoil spring on a GG black fat guide rod, P320 X5 with ROMEO1, shooting Speer Lawman or Blazer 124g, both are 135PF. Works great, but I do wonder if a 13lb or 12.5lb spring would work even better.
  16. I shoot 124g or 147g Speer Lawman or Blazer Brass, using a 14lb ISMI 1911 Government recoil spring, as suggested by members of the forum. I'm happy with it.
  17. Hello, I’m a long time lurker, finally decided to join. I’ve never shot any sports but I’m hoping to change that in the near future. I was looking to pick up a CZ Shadow 2 (my EDC is a CZ P07 UG with full Cajun Gun Works package), but decided on the Sig Sauer P320 X5 and Romeo 1 because I can try a few different divisions with it and decide on which one I like. It is currently with Sig for their “upgrade”, I’m planning to send it afterwards to Gray Guns for their competition flat trigger kit and install. Other plans include to pick up some more magazines and add Springer Precision’s +2 140mm base plates, as well as some 10rd full size magazines and a P320 full size complete slide in 40 S&W. In the future, I may look to add a BarSto match threaded bull barrel and Range 18 compensator if the X5 ends up being a good fit for me. As per the advice of Alma Cole, I’m also adding the GG stainless steel guide rod and 14lb ISMI recoil spring (I shoot Speer 124g and 147g at this time). I’m open to any opinions/insight, thank you so much for your time.
