  1. I use the EGW 38 Special undersized sizing die to size and remove primer. Dillion 38 special powder funnel, use just enough to flare case to accept type and size bullet you are using. Lee 38 Short Colt seating die and Lee 38 Short Colt roll crimp die. You will find with the EGW undersized sizing die you will not have to crimp as much and all you are really trying to accomplish is to remove the flare. This set up has worked for me with .355 bullets to .358 bullets. Pet load 2.8 to 2.9 VV N310, seated 1.175, Federal primer with a 150 grain 38 super bullet sized .357 and .358 moly coated. The 2.9 load average 850 fps, pf 127 and the 2.8 load 825 fps, pf 123. Perfect loads for ICORE or USPSA minor. Do not go above 2.9 grains as I started to get sticky extractions and the 2.9 does not show any signs of high pressure. http://www.betterbullets.com/products.htm This is where I get my bullets and I do my own moly coat as Roger can send them lubed or non-lubed. This is all done on my Dillon 650. Just my 2 cents

  4. Quick for the reloads and if you reload weak hand (left) you will find that you will not have to roll your right hand as much to do a reload.
  5. Sorry about the price quote. I haven't ordered from them for awhile and I found out that when you get to the check out they add on a lead surcharge which will double the price.
  6. Berry Bullets are $65.44 a 1000 shipped to your door. I use their bullets in 38 special and have had good luck. You could have 250 shipped to you for $18.39 and you could try them out. Just another suggestion.
  7. Hey FFL knows who I am and I would never lie (at least not intentionally) But if no one wants to claim this prize ahh hmm (hint hint) Not Really have a Merry Christmas and a Great New Year. Tell FFL I will see him at the Mid West Regionals Dean Gomez Revoman
  8. This one is on my schedule and I need to call Mike Homm in Garden City to see if he is going to make it. This could turn into a big match for the Master class with the names I see flying around. I will just sit back in my lonely B class and watch you all slug it out. Hey I am not to proud to pick up the scrapes after all somebody does have to play second fiddle.
  9. revoman try "better bulletts.com" ...................good luck, i think that's your bullett, tom By George I think you found my bullet. Thanks a million. Happy days are here again! Dean
  10. Sorry Revoman, there's few more "takers" for the 6.5" 627 in line before you. It has been shot, and I like it a lot, I just don't shoot it as much as I used to. Really think Smith misses the boat on this one, great barrel length option for this gun. (IMNSHO) So you converted a 6.5" 627 to Short Colt Well somtimes I get these wild thoughts in my head and I just do them before I realize what I have done. The 6.5 barrel I had taken off had already been ported so it would not work for a stock gun so I sold it. If I would lose sleep over all the things I have done I probably never sleep. I just thought with a handle as 10MMDave that a 5" 610 would look good in your hands if you don't already have one.
  11. I also have been looking for a 6.5" 627 as I used to have one but I had it modified to my short colt gun. They are hard to come by and I would be willing to trade my 5" 610 for one (hint, hint 10MM Dave). On another note I did find one the other day problem was it was serial #1 and it had just been sold. Wouldn't that be a conversation to have at a match shooting the serial #1 gun. The way I look at it guns are made to shoot not look at if I want pretty I would buy me a new shirt.
  12. With the Hogue release it is easier to reach the release and open the cylinder with your right hand.
  13. I use the Lee undersized die from EGW for a 38 special for resizing and then I use a 9mm Lee factory crimp die body with a Lee 38 short colt roll crimp insert. I noticed with the undersized resizing die I do not have to crimp as much to keep the bullets from walking out.
  14. The two bullet design that compare to that is made by Billy Bullets for one, There are others but I don't know of them. One is a 135 grain bullet, actual weight on my scale is 133.6 and the 160 grain, acutal weight is 159.5, again on my scales but I never dust it nor have I had it calibrated. It is close enough for me.. good luck rdd Thanks, I will probably try the 135 as I think the 160 might be too much for the 38 short colt.
  15. I was using Master Blaster bullets in the 38 super 150 gr round nose sized .357. The bullet mold would have been made by Magma. The bullet had one lube ring and had a more of a pointed round nose. You can copy and paste the site below and it should bring up the image of the bullet. If anyone knows of anyplace making this bullet, please send me a note. Thanks Dean http://www.magmaengineering.com/images/mol...S140150RNFB.gif

  17. I talked to Lew Horton and to have a run of revolvers made takes some serious cash upfront. Basically if he gets a whim and he thinks it will fly he would have it done.
  18. I was using these in my 38 short colt and 150 grain was about as high as I wanted to go in weight. I had tried some 160 meister and signs of pressure started to show before I could reach the 120 power factor for ICORE. The 150 with 2.9 of VV N310 was a perfect load. It ran at 850 fps with a PF of 127.5 and no signs of high pressure. Thanks for the info anyhow. I looked at their web site and I might try the 135 or 125. The main thing I was looking for were the size and I saw where they offer these in .358. that might just do the trick. Thanks Dean
