  1. I pick it up today at 3:00 from my dealer hope the pictures did it justice. I will probably work on the trigger some and change the rear sight. I am not a big fan of the bobbed hammers. I like to be able to pull back a little after I put my clip in to see if the cylinder will spin. Just a nub would even work.
  2. That would probably be me. I think it was last Thursday when I bid. I had been looking at other 625s but this one had everything already done and I figured for the price it would be about the same. Sorry
  3. Just accepted my slot from the waiting list, so mark another Iowa boy at the Nationals. Carmoney Do I need to do anything to get squadded with the revo squad? I just picked up my new 625 Performance Center that I got off of Gunbroker so it looks like I will retire my 610 5" even though I never did anything with it except get classified. For those of you drooling over my 610 it took me forever to find one and I won't tell what I got it for because it is a sin compared to what they are going for now. This will just retire to my safe along with my RPM 610.
  4. Oh yeah, I forgot to congratulate you. By the way Mike H and I are going to chow at the Plantation again. See you at Osceola.
  5. I have known Ron for awhile and it seems like Ron always knows what to say and at the right time. Had fun shooting with you and Rich in Colorado last year and it was truly good to see some old friends. Can't make the IRC this year, but will be there in 2007, gecko and all. Dean
  6. Hey what about me I finished 171 and thats 1 ahead of 172.
  7. I am a true revolver fan from the git go and this weekend I just shot my first match with an auto. Boy I wish I had my revolver, still had fun. Just relax and and have fun and as michael said run and shoot don't hide and shoot.
  8. Prize table Top Open , Top Stock then class A,B,C and D winner. Then 2nd in class A, B, C and D so on until the end. Seems to work and every class is rewarded equal. Lets face it the class D winner is just as proud of their accomplishments as is the overall winner and both should be rewarded for their showings. Base of the shooters are B and C shooters who do strive to become A or better but as luck or skill will have it they will always remain B and C shooters. They come to every match and with their entries and dedication and usually help as RO's they should be rewarded. I have sat out of competion for a few years (beyond my control) and now that I am starting to get back in. I am still in B Class in ICORE and if I had stayed in I would be in A Class, less than 4% keeps me out. The point is that if I finished 3rd in B Class I would feel that winners of C and D should go to the prize table before me as with the 2nd place finishers in those 2 classes. As they have competed fairly in their class and should be recognized for the effort and I should not go before them even if my times were faster as I competed against B Class not C or D. Remember what keeps the matches going are your mid range shooters. Look at the entrys and see the ratio of Master and A shooters to B, C and D. If all matches had to survive on entries alone and the only ones coming are Master and A, then matches would soon die out. Also who spends more of their hard earned money on powder, bullets, primers, holsters, etc, etc, the mid class shooters. Don't get me wrong the sport needs the top shooters and I enjoy watching and competing against them, but lets not forget what makes up the core of our sport. My 2 cents
  9. Excellent deer cartridge when loaded down. 275 grain Barnes hollow point about 1200 to 1300 fps and with the X-frame hardly any recoil. Nice compared to factory 44 loads. I also own a 44. I would like to take it to a steel match where only plate racks are engage. 1 shot on the plate rack frame and all plates will go down. Talk about times.
  10. Plano boxes work for everything and you can get them in different sizes. If you want you can buy the tackle box that holds four to five of the trays. I have been using for years and have less than $10.00 into the whole set up.

    610 5"

Hey guys there is a 5" 610 for sale on www.auctionarms.com. Just a note to let you know. I already have one and I see notes every once in awhile the someone is looking for one.
  12. Bring him to Tonitown AR next year for the Midwest Regional in ICORE it is always nice to shoot with young wheel men. Like I tell people when they ask what I shoot I tell them a Whreal Gun. Great father and son bonding.
  13. I have a brand new Sidearmor holster for a 5" N Frame in black. I paid 79.95 + shipping. I will let it go for $70.00 plus shipping. I bought it to use in USPSA and found out I could use my CR Speed Holster. So I have a holster I will probably never use. Let me know. You can look at the holster at www.sidearmor.com
  14. I was once told by Jerry M that if you slow down you will shoot faster. Shoot A's as fast as you can but don't over run them. If you shoot 3 targets with 2 shots each and run that in 4 seconds but you only get 2 A's, 2 B's and 2 C's your total score is 4 seconds + 2 for the B's and 4 for the C's = 10. Now if you slowed down and shot 6 seconds and 6 A's, total score is 6 seconds + 0 for 6 A's = 6. You saved 4 points for shooting slower. Now I don't think that Jerry would shoot that slow it was just good advice to listen to. Hope this helps.
  15. Sounds like a good time but I will be going to the Single Stack Classic end of April then to the ICORE Rocky Mountain Regional first week in May. Yeah I know that they won't let me shoot my revo at the Single Stack but like others say they have to blow the dust off their revolvers well every once in a while a Revoman has to blow the dust off a bottom feeder. I still haven't figured out how to get the moon clips in my bottom feeder. My old stomping grounds used to be in Dodge City, Ks. My home town where I grew up is Garden City. All I know is they have more water in Iowa and where I live I can travel about 5 hours in any direction and there is some type of match going on. I have lived in Iowa about 5 years and it has taken me that long to figure it out. I will put Kansas down for next year.
  16. I will be there with my Gecko on. It was good to see you again. I look forward to seeing you in Iowa.
  17. Revoman here and yes the match in Tontitown was great. I have been out of the ICORE matches for awhile and I now remember that just shooting fast does not make it, you also have to keep them in the A Zone. With that thought I will be ready for the Rocky Mountain Regional. Mike and Stephanie were great. I want to mention that between stage set up we were treated to lunch at a local restaurant as part of our match fees. Not to many places that you can shoot in a climate controled area get fed and win a gun. I will definitely make Tontitown next year. I was like the little kid on the Disney commerical as I got up at 3:00 AM on Friday morning and got ready to leave. My wife said I should get some more rest and as I walked out the door I looked back and told her " I am too excited to sleep"
  18. Welcome Bullseye, you can find about any kind of revolver discipline on this form. I like to shoot ICORE which stands for International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiast. You can find more out at www.icore.org. It is a place you can shoot 6 shot revolvers or your eight shot. Again welcome.
  19. I haven't shot that much stock revolver, mainly open in ICORE. I am going to try for a slot on May 1 and cross my fingers.
  20. By the way I voted for 6 round iron sights. Got to use that 610.
  21. I had a custom S&W 610 finished with a NP3 finish. It holds up great. Only problem the $200.00 action job I had on the gun before the finish sort of changed for the worse. Still a excellent action just not as smooth as it was. I think it added just enough plating or whatever you would call it to cause this. I have not shot the revolver much after that as I switched to a 8 shot for ICORE. Maybe if I shot it more it would work itself back in. Other than that I think it is an excellent finish.
  22. I like Tom's idea even though I am one of those fanatics that own a 8 shot open, 6 shot open, 8 shot limited and a six shot. Whatever they let me shoot, I will be there throwing lead.
  23. I have one that is going to be removed sometime in the near future by Pinnacle High Performance. Problem is that it has been ported. Let me know if you are interested. Dean
  24. Hey Bubber long time. I think in the picture I am facing the wrong way. Notice how the targets are behind me. I must have been confused. But I do look happy
