  1. Love it! I can't wait until mine arrives! I just wish I could find Hello Kitty grip tape.
  2. I just recently got into the electronic world. I almost always wore foam plugs and muffs. now it s electronic and plugs. the leight impact pro was on sale for cheap lately on Amazon so I got one for me and my son.
  3. So there is no difference in the sight radius between the 4.54" and 5.15" model. The difference is the threaded suppressor added length. So all told I spent $100 more for the new pistol vs the used, and I got $20 worth of polymer +2 extensions and night sights, and a cooler color. So I think I'm ahead of the game, although I'll sharpie the rear sight dots. I picked it up last night and stippled it. This week my Kadet kit arrives....
  4. Thanks, I really don't see myself spending the $38 just for baseplates. I think I can justify a couple more of the factory aluminum ones for primary and a couple polymer for backup. All magazines seem to drop free without drama.
  5. I'm glad I could help you spend your money.
  6. Mine arrived yesterday. They also had the black and pink large duffle for $20, I should have gotten one.
  7. I like the federal Walmart 100 pack stuff. Winchester only if I can't find the federal.
  8. This one was already in my parts box... It actually works good. Glock finger groove base plate, and two 10-32 nuts and bolts.
  9. I just got two of the midway range backpacks for $36 each. i just looked them up and they are discontinued. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/780389/midwayusa-range-bag-backpack
  10. So basically, don't sweat the small stuff.... I have found a 4" STI that has piqued my interest.... Gun show next month, time to sell off some stuff.
  11. Which is the one that doesn't allow drop holsters?
  12. I have noticed that magazine extensions can be quite costly. What makes them worth the added expense for competition? Round count? Added weight? Fashion statement? Is aluminum more desirable than polymer and why? I ask because magazines for my pistol can be had with +2 polymer extensions for the same price as the standard capacity. For $15 more each I can have factory aluminum +2 but they don't have much added weight, but I perceive them as more durable than the factory polymer. A company makes replacement +2's for $38 each, and they are quite stout, but no cool colors at this time.... I can also purchase new springs and followers for $16 each that make the +2 extensions a +4.
  13. Yeah this stuff... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-Graphic-Tape-9-x-33-Skull-Skateboard-Griptape/282210068158?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  14. I'm not sure how that one is set up, but the Taccom Sport series is set up to retain the shell on the hull only. I prefer to have it hold on the brass on the top row. I put a piece of grip tape on a shell, and twisted it in the holder until the brass was retained easily. I also have an Ez8 by Gunner solutions on the way, it's worth looking up, it looks like a novel Idea.
  15. Just cheap ebay stuff, one sheet is so big your grandkids will be using on your pistols.
  16. IF I ever run out of my roll of skateboard tape, I'm going to get some that has cartoon skull and cross bones on it. $3.99 shipped....
  17. I know I'll be handicapped more by my abilities than anything else, so I think I will just have fun, and try for a clean score. My first match is the weekend after next. I'll be shooting my CZ p09 9mm, my model 604 AR, and I'll bring my Stoeger M3K, and my beloved Ithaca 37 DS featherweight... 1971 NM State Patrol
  18. I have shot a few types of guns over the years, and I adapt well to many different types. Kind of a jack of all trades, master of none situation. When I decided I was looking for a competition pistol I looked at 9mm 1911's, but I didn't find the right combination of Brand/Features/Price (What I want would easily cost more than twice almost 3 times what I have now.) IF I had found a reasonably priced Beretta M9, I would have gone that route. I actually had a Glock 34 on the counter, ready to commit to, and the girl at the counter brought out the CZ 5" barrel P09... I figure if I quit gun hopping it will make me more consistent, and more accurate. I'm not looking for speed, I'd just like a clean run each time. I gave up my dreams of a 9mm 1911 and sold off my magazines today, I'm in negotiations to sell off my magwell and grips too.... I did and will shoot my LW .45 Commander from time to time, but I'm not as accurate with it. (want clean runs) I really thank you all for the tips, I decided I'm not going to get the used pistol and placed an order to have one of these sent to my FFL... My other pistol is the Black version. I have dreams of a Shadow 2 as well, but that will be a long time down the road, maybe an STI 9mm, but that's even further down the road,,,,,
  19. I shoot most things well, but the competition side is a new thing, so I'm wanting to start out myself and my son on the right track. I have held a 17L, and it just felt excessively long to me. I also don't like the 17, but I like the 34 and 19. I hadn't thought about steadiness differences with sight radius, but it makes sense. I talked to the local shop, and they do have the full size pistol on order but they have no idea when the order will be filled because of the holidays. But for sure I'd be in the +$150 range for the new pistol... That's the price of three magazines I'd like to have but don't totally need....
  20. I'm going through a similar rule dilemma, Except I WANT to shoot my .45 Commander, I WANT to shoot my 4+1 Ithaca 37... I don't want to shoot a f*#king 30 cal rifle.... I just don't like them, unless it's belt fed.... And some dumbass is carrying ammo for me...
  21. Yeah that's very true. I don't expect to do more traveling beyond the local area. If I go the new vs used route I'd very likely spend $100-150 more on that extra .5" Unless I find a used one....
  22. Thanks, I would use as a primary pistol for my son, but IF need arises we would most likely be sharing whichever pistol was still up and running. I don't see either pistol as having a use past competition.
