  1. 115. I also have silhouette, hs6, #7, and 3n38. To test with. But I'll keep it simple at first and go with #7.
  2. I should have the MG jhp this week. I'll post how those perform once I get some loaded up!
  3. So far I've tried 115gr blue with hs6 and #7. I have also tried 124 fmj with hs6. The 124 shot the worst but I only tried one powder charge. The #7 is by far more accurate in the frame mounted. The slide mounted gun likes both hs6 and #7. I have some 115 fmj MG coming. I'm thinking the one gun may not like the coated. Btw both guns have identical barrels from the same manufacturer!
  4. Thanks for the reply's. I did swapp out the optics to rule that out. Also, made sure mount was torqued. That totally crossed my mind. I think something else is going on. Sounds like what Im getting is not the norm. Im going to explore different bullets. Need to rule that out. I have tried hs6 and aa #7. #7 is more accurate in both guns.
  5. Steel gun with steel grip. With My slide mounted open (steel frame with polumer grip) I can do cloverleaf at 20 yards. Same load is maybe 3"@ 20 with frame mounted I switched optics with same results!
  6. Just looking for what you guys are getting for group size. Say 20 yards with a frame mounted optic open! I've got a slide mounted optic open and a frame mounted optic open. And the frame isn't as accurate. Just want to make sure something else isn't going on!
  7. http://westacholsters.com/products/cz-scorpion-single-mag-carriers I have these. They work well. No problems. If you install the light trigger springs. You may have issues with trigger reset. I did. If so, you need to polish the disconnect. There is info out there to cure this problem. Easy fix!
  8. I use the taccom carbon. It's a nice handguard. Super light and does the job. The price doesn't break the bank!
  9. I just got the MBX mini. I like it, just the right size. Glock 33 rd mag. I like the titan rocket magwell!
  10. I switched from bayou to blue. The pros of blue: Doesn't lead Coating is more durable The diameter is .355/easier to seat Cons of blue: The coating gets on your hand when loading. Pros of bayou: Coating does not get on your hand Cons: I Have had batches that coating flakes off. Bullet diameter is .356-.357 ( really need to expand cases to seat without scraping off coating) I have experience leading in 9mm major and 9mm minor (pcc only) Accuracy depends on barrel. My glocks like the oversized bayou. One of my open (infinity barrel) likes the blue a lot. Other open (also infinity barrel) desnt like the blues as well but cannot try bayou due to leading. Pcc likes the blue better. So my 2 cents is that you may need to try some sample packs from different brands to see what your barrel likes.
  11. My scorpion carbine weighs roughly 6.75lbs. Not sure about the mpx
  12. Definitely need to see some pictures. I have seen some slight deformation with minor loads. My open major loads do about the same. The deformation is very minor and does not concern me. The only craters that were a minor concern is from a 22/250 and a 338 lapua at 100 yards. Still very minor craters, probably take a 1000 or so rounds to start really messing it up. But 9mm pcc should not be doing much to quality ar500 steel!
  13. Agreed! Extractor is not making contact! 1000 rounds..... definitely dirty. Might clean the extractor channel! And everything else.
  14. Like others have said. The first think i would look at is the extractor. Too loose/rounded/broken..... It can also be caused by tight out of spec chamber. I have also seen reloads with not enough crimp cause that issue. Good way to test this, is the ammo plunk test in the barrel. Typically of the ammo passes the plunk test then usually it won't be the ammo or chamber! Another thing to check. Make sure the extractor is not contacting the barrel when the gun is in battery. That will cause problems as well!
  15. Blue bullets for me. No leading and good accuracy! I Have tried other brands but blue works the best for me!
  16. The Limcat arrived last week. The finish was great. I had to do a little fitting but nothing too major. I like the double detent feature. The safety is really wide. It allows to shape whatever profile works for you. I did not touch the left side since I am right handed. The right side I needed to take a lot off of. It was digging into my knuckle. Nevertheless, not much work to get it where I like it. I shot a match with it last weekend. It worked flawless. I really like the extra wide paddle. And the sheilds are tall enough that I cannot tide the slide with my thumb! It may be a little more than other brands. But it is not MIM and I do like it. I will definitely use in future builds!
  17. I must be the odd one. I have 2 old sti 170 and one 155 MBX. The sti run flawless and have from day one. The mbx gave me trouble from day one. I emailed mbx (couldn't find a phone # for them). Of course no response to my emails. So I tuned the feed lips and slightly bent the spring. It now works but it's my last resort magazine. Cheaper for me to buy the sti and grams followers that work out of the box.
  18. I found better accuracy around 4.1 and best @ 4.2. At lighter loads the accuracy wasn't there. Your barrel may be different, so you might have different results. Also this load is for gssf. So I have to run stock recoil spring and i like the 4.2 recoil. Seems to move the slide a little quicker.
  19. I really like 4.2gr alliant sport pistol 125rn @ 1.120. Gives me about 1090fps out of my g17. Nice recoil response. Not to harsh but stout enough to knock down steel. The sport pistol meters well and is clean.
  20. I see what part is patented pending. I was confused and was thinking of something else. Thanks for the clarification!
  21. Egw has always been .200 on all of them I have measured. Also the 2 pt thumb rest ss have been .1999. All measures with a micrometer. You must have got a bad one from Egw. Good to hear they are making it right!
  22. Interesting.... Wilson bulletproof also has that system (it incorporates a screw that's adaptable). Ed Brown also has a safety that uses that captive system without the screw! Maybe they are paying for the rights?
  23. Others may chime in. But you probably will need to get a Sti through Sti! The dovetail may be cut to accept other brands. However I'm not familiar with the dovetail cut of the Sti!
  24. How well do the Limcat work with shielding your thumb from riding the slide? Is there enough shielding to keep your thumb off of the slide?
  25. I just ordered the Limcat sheilded safety. I will report back once it shows up and I have a chance to test it!
