  1. My 1911 looks like that but I have 2-3k draws on it. based on the poster above id say ratio was off.
  2. been said before but will say it again, not preparing properly for the weather. Rain sucks especially in the desert where it can dump quick and hard. Plan on leaving my cheap frogg toggs in my truck. also shoes.... my 5.11 shoes are vented, VERY well.... leaving boots and the rain stuff in my truck. Ammo, dont rely on loading your match ammo the night before... pawls can break and your stuck with factory ammo.
  3. Makes sense, Watching the GM's i shoot with one of the biggest difference is the aggression. Watching them get out of position they leave like a grenade just landed at their feet, watching JJ he does the same. I know i need to shoot faster and more accurate but i think i can gain a second or so in alot of stages just learning movement which is hard to learn on my own. He has a class in October I should be able to make been following him since top shot and didnt notice he had classes. I just missed a Tim Heron class out here as well, funds did not line up at the time but ill put some aside for the october class. Edit: shoot the site says 2018, ill email and see if there are any in 2020.
  4. yea part of my reason for starting a thread in here. Helps keep me honest even though most wouldn't care or notice if i stopped, just something about knowing I have a place i can track that is public lol. Good luck and keep it up! If you don't have any of the books they include charts to keep yourself honest and keep times. Also helps when they give you different layouts, not sure about you but im not the most creative.
  5. Getting classified this weekend. My goal for 2020 is to be 2 classes higher then whatever i classify at this weekend in limited. Get my average draw to first round under 1 second at 10 yards. @anonymouscuban if you ever make a trip to Vegas there is usually a match on Saturday or Sunday, feel free to PM me if you are headed this way to know what matches are going on.
  6. Thanks, i like hwo it adjusts and its a bit more aggressive. For the installation for some reason i was assuming i needed to mill the surface flat but it looks like it can be done with a drill press and taps, did you do anything else to get it to fit (other then measure lol)
  7. Come shoot some steel tomorrow (the 4th) if you're in Vegas! Enjoy the other side of the hot dry summer, the cold/cool somewhat damp "rain"!
  8. It was very soft shooting. Having only shot my setup which is a 9oz buffer with a heavy wolff spring the tier 2 was surprisingly softer and double taps were definitely faster. If i didn't already have a PCC id be all over the tier 2 in a heartbeat. shooting that PCC also put a new trigger on my Christmas list....
  9. So decided to start this to keep me honest. I shot my first match years ago, was a 1 time thing shooting production, walked in had no clue what i was doing and met some cool people but did horrible and didn't want to go back. Fast forward to roughly 3 months ago, have a few local matches and some action steel challenges close. Decided that shooting myself doesn't give me any idea of where I sit in comparison to others and so I sucked up my pride and shot a USPSA match near me. Shot mid pack limited and mid pack overall and didn't like it. Shot a few steel and some more USPSA and got a little better but not where I would like to be. Last match I managed to shoot a classifier that i shot 69% in, this weekend ill be shooting an all classifier to finally get classified and give myself a starting point for my rise. Started reading get to work with steve anderson and have dry fire reloaded, and skills and drills for the practical pistol shooter once im done with get to work. Purchased scaled targets for dry fire training and have been at it. Really working on draw speed, reloads, and shooting on the move. Luckily the master bedroom in my house is large and I am able to have a mini course as well as a scale 25 yard target. Currently on a 10 yard target: Draw to first shot in A zone Average: 1.4 best .9 Draw fire reload fire into A zone Average 2.4 second Best 1.8 currently spending about 3-4 hours per week on dry fire and hoping to scale that up as i get over my sickness.
  10. I do not, not currently running a red dot as it will be a limited gun for now. Do you happen to have a photo of the Fire4effect installed? I wish I had the equipment, if I had the room if own a lathe and a other large tools. For now I have a Dremel and a drill press which I would not use to try this lol.
  11. Explains why I haven't seen it, was assuming multigun was more 2/3 gun. Thank you
  12. I'm getting my TSO this week and was thinking about getting the right side threaded for the evil hand thumbrest. Anyone done this? What's a ball park price I should be paying for such a job? I know it's a range I just want to be sure I wont be over paying for what I'm assuming is a pretty some job
  13. I think co and PCC are both emerging enough they could use a forum. PCC has alot of quirks when building from scratch. CO works well because it's a pistol I would carry edc vs my limited gun which is setup for competition only. With how fast the optics have advanced recently it would be helpful to see it all in one area.
  14. I just did some looking while looking for a CO holster. according to shooters connection (https://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/Red-Hill-Tactical-Classic-HD-P5160.aspx) the RHT is 0.125" thick. GX legacy (this is the one i ordered) is .093 first layer and a second later of .08 OR .093 making for a thickness of either 0.173" or 0.186". I have a RHT holster for my 1911 and its pretty darn thick, no issues with flex. You cant go wrong with either, what tipped the tide for me was i shot a message to GX holsters on FB on thanksgiving regarding a custom setup (threaded barrel and suppressor sites) and if they made a model. Within an hour there was a response that said note it and they will make it work. If your willing to take time on thanksgiving to make a sale, you earned my business. nothing against RHT as ive done business there as well and they have always fulfilled.
  15. ordered, i shot them a message on FB messenger and they took the time to answer on thanksgiving. Huge shot out to them!
  16. Do you know if their holsters can accommodate optics, suppressors sights and a threaded barrel?
  17. Anyone know if red Hill tact is doing a sale? Need a holster for carry optics and like their holsters
  18. how do you tell the difference? Is there a measurement to take?
  19. Bumping this up, Just bought a TSO on another forum and waiting for it to ship. Excited to jump from a G35 to something steel framed, and got a decent deal on this one so made the jump. Downside is im a lefty so i have a DAA holster to sell off and possibly a trip to the shop to get milled for an evil hand *thumb rest [generic]*.
  20. Grew up in korea, best food was from the dingy "food court" in the outdoor market. Concrete tables and benchs, grandmas cooking, moms cooking, kids doing the dishes. no fridges, just salt and maybe some ice. MMMMmmmm soon dae guk, aka korean pig soup. watch her cook it 2 feet from you, yea your outside, yea roaches on the floor and flies flying around but DANG that was some good food.... would NEVER fly here. talking about weird names for food, my local udon cafe has this. I know its spelled a little different but no way id try it lol. Bukake $6.80
  21. learned yesterday, alpha mike. put one in the black and one in the a zone. I was trying to make time, bang bang, seen 2 dots of light, run, mag change, next targets. one was in the black tape on the target....
  22. shot this yesterday. Limited - Glock 35 major Time - 10.03 A - 12 C - 4 Points - 60 7.577 HF The one stage i did not have a mag malfunction so ill take it!
  23. Man that sucks. Hate hearing things like this. Hope the road to recovery is smooth. Will keep him in my prayers.
  24. my local club does free match for steel setup. show up at 1600 match at 1730. Bout 5-6 of us show up and set it all up. Tear down i just pull my truck into the bay and have people break it down into the bed and ill throw targets from the truck into their proper area. I am not the MD just a shooter who doesn't mind the exercise of throwing the steel. Ive learned so much from the shooters in my club that i typically still pay the fee to help support the club. USPSA they setup the day before, nobody wants to be at the range at 4AM setting up targets LOL
  25. tablets follow us, we usually ask if first shooter on list cares to go first? if yes we random, if no we just go with it. Then second stage second name is first and first name is last so we rotate in that manner. That way one person isnt always first. personally I dont mind going first but i prefer to go later, still fairly new and like to see how others planned the stage out even though I typically wont change my stage plan after walkthrough to prevent a missed target.
