  1. Are you using a maxwell? If so, when you tighten down the screws on certain ones it will tighten the gap and cause mags to stick. The magpul mags are good but you need to keep them clean and apply a little lub on the springs. I had two of them bind on a classifier before I did this. For mag changes you could try this: Watch in slow motion how he manipulates the gun when dropping the mag.
  2. No problem. Its actually a very nice bench. If you get one, when you get it assembled if there is a wobble to it at all, loosen the screws on the legs and have someone put pressure on the tabletop then retighten.
  3. 3.1gr Titegroup @1.15 with 147gr RMR plated (using up the last of this load) 2.8gr Clays @1.15 with same bullet (regular load) I believe you gentlemen are correct. I shot some Freedom Munition 124gr and it ejects without catching the optic. I think I need to find a new powder. I hate TG and don't want to buy anymore of it. I don't know how much I would increase the Clays without getting close to high pressures with that powder.
  4. UPDATE: Installed Apex extractor. Helped but still hitting. Put stock barrel in the gun. Helped as well but still getting brass hitting the optic. It got worse as the day went on. Both of these really helped but it didn't completely fix the issue. Also, the brass that made it past the optic is all at the 3 o'clock but 2 feet from where I stood. Im thinking it needs an extended ejector or something along those lines.
  5. I have the Double Alpha PDR Pro and love it. Fits all the Glock models 17, 34, etc. Easy to adjust retention. Works with optics. A lot of adjustability in every area. Has inserts to match it with almost every belt size.
  6. Switch to a gen 3 captured guide rod and spring. Get the adapter bushing. Just put a tungsten one in my gen 4 and I love it.
  7. For what the Zev slides cost you could almost buy a Glock MOS. Also, if you decide to switch optics later on or go production you don't need to spend any more money on the gun itself.
  8. The Zev are great, if they fit. I had one where the brass insert would not go into the gun all the way. The screws always seem to strip the threads as well. TTI is a great one and easy to install. Not the heaviest though. I have heard good things about the SJC and Carver models. I agree that a heavy magwell will balance the Glock nicely.
  9. Get into reloading. You can get a Dillon 650, all the accroutrements, accessories, and tools you need for $1000. Watch a few youtube videos, read posts on here, start with some basic data and you are good to go.
  10. Vortex razor 6moa. Easy to change battery. Big FOV. Adjustment button placement sucks. Brass hits the front side edge and doesn't affect function. Mounted on Glock 34 MOS. Started with RMR07 then went to vortex.
  11. Tailor below to your needs/abilities. Warmup and stretch. Sprints for explosiveness(one-way): 10, 15, 20, 25, etc up to 50 yards Sprints for agility (down and back): 10, 15, etc up to 25. Intervals on track: (Fastest past 1 lap, jog 1 lap for recovery, repeat) 400 meter track. As you build your recovery times, cut down on recovery lap, make it 3/4 lap, 1/2 lap etc Fast past 2 laps, stop and rest for 2:30 mins, repeat. Regular run: You don't need to run 5 miles to be good at 5 miles. Run 2-3 miles at a comfortably uncomfortable pace (pace you won't puke or have to stop, but a pace that you couldn't do for more than the distance you are accomplishing). Don't run everyday. Let your body recover. The older guys who run everyday have been doing it everyday since they were teenagers.
  12. If you have a place to do agility drills and have a gun in your hand then why not incorporate both? Agility drills with getting sights on target fast. Knock out two birds with one stone so to speak. Any physical training that puts you in better shape is good and will help. Agility is probably the biggest factor in physical movement for competition. Ive seen some big ole boys who couldn't run 400 meters be the fastest on the stage. They can move very quickly in short bursts.
  13. The speed cross 3s and 4s are great for competition and trail running. They wear fairly quickly on pavement. Also, do not try to run on wet sidewalks or polished floors. You will find out traction goes to 0% really fast when taking turns lol.
  14. I would agree that its your grip. Probably firing hand but check your support hand as well. Pushing too much with your support hand thumb can cause this as well (if you do that). Also, what sights are you running? I ran Warren sights for a bit but they have such a wide rear notch that its easy to drift the front sight to one side or another. Switching to sights that offer the smallest difference between front sight width and rear notch width will help when shooting at long distances. Just a thought. It worked for me.
  15. You beat me to it. Lock your weak hand wrist over. Google "Ron Avery" and watch some of his videos. You will instantly see a difference.
  16. Roughly 22x45. The wood tabletop is held in by 4 screws and will flex. Put more screws in it and get a rising platform for your press to clear the front of the bench.
  17. Ordered an apex gen 4 extractor. I post an update when it comes in.
  18. How different are the Apex extractors for gen 3 and gen 4? I tried an apex extractor i had for a gen 3 and it helped but not much. Wondering if i get one specifically for a gen 4 if that would make a bigger difference.
  19. That could be a possibility. But even with the other recoil springs the ejection was weak and would still hit the optic. The brass can't come out of the gun fast enough before the slide returns forward and the optic hits it. It doesn't appear to be hitting the bottom of the ejection port of the way out.
  20. It would cycle with those springs but would short-stroke once in awhile. Never had any problems besides that with those springs. I will test with the stock barrel.
  21. Ive tried 11, 13, 15. With all of those the brass ejection is still week and towards the rear. 11 seems to be the only spring that will not have any short strokes.
  22. Ive done a bunch of searches on here and on google and couldn't really find an answer. There are tons of "try this" examples but nothing that resolved the issue. Running a glock 34 MOS with Vortex Razor optic, 11lb spring, S3F barrel, and 274 ejector. Loading to minor power factor. I cannot resolve the issue with brass hitting the optic. Has anyone found a solution to fixing this? Extended ejector? Apex extractor?
  23. Just put in my order with Brad. I actually went with him after watching your video on youtube.
  24. I had the same problem. I took them apart, cleaned them, and put a small amount of lubrication on the springs. They work great now.
  25. S3F makes great barrels. Hopefully they can get caught up on the wait times.
