  1. Well at least we should not have to deal with the ROAD DUST and tempature should be 10 deg cooler than last year. Should be a good match. MDA
  2. The square deal only loads straight wall pistol and you must use Dillon dies specific to the square deal as they are not the standard thread size. Loading on the 550 in easy once you get the sequence. Pull handle down and backup, seat new primer and place bullet, index shell plate, insert new shell, repeat. Since you are indexing by hand you can control index speed so should not spill any powder. I can load 300-400 rnd an hour easily. You can get a auto shell feeder for the 550 but for the cost and trouble auto feeders can be, it's not worth the trouble. Check out the link below for a comparison between the different Dillon presses. http://www.brianenos.com/pages/dillon.html#which. MDA
  3. The applications for the ISPC National match are not avaliable yet, Stay posted. MDA
  4. Way to go. Beat me I'm 23. MDA
  5. Stages look good on paper, in the end it's all in the stage setup as walls, fault lines and targets go up. That's when you have to make things work. Just might have to use a few of them. Thanks for sharing. MDA
  6. You can take up to 11 lbs with if you fly. Plastic boxes packed in another cardbord box and inside check bag would work if you fly. Or as smokshwn said, Ship it to you shelf at the hotel. MDA
  7. Never had a problem with MG and IR lights. Always have problems outside with just skyscreens. Mostly will not trip the sensors. mda
  8. 7000 grains = one pound. With V320 and about a 5.0-5.3 grain load should be around 700-800 FPS which would make major PF and be softer than white box. Fast burning powders with heavy bullets tend to feel snapper compared to slower burning powder with lighter bullets which feel more pushy or sluggish. What is best is personal preference. So 7000/5.3=1320 Rounds for 1lb of powder. White box is generaly clean burning and Vit is one of the cleanest powders I have used so you should be good there also. Edited: Took to long to write my post! 2 others beat me to it.
  9. Your data is not really that bad, it only has a few flyers. From your data you are averaging about 705 FPS with a SD of 19. Since this is normal distributed data that would mean that 68% of the readings are with in +-19 FPS of the average and 95% of all readings are with in +-38 FPS. Most others have already indicated possible areas which can cause spread, I.E. mixed brass, inconsistence/improper crimp, etc. The chrono can also be a source of error if using natural light. Did you use IR screens in a box? My personal experience with TG has been that there tends to be be a larger SD then with other powders. MDA
  10. Thanks for the Complement Kyle. That's the second time you have used those videos in a post. Yep!! RESHOOT!! RO was out of position like others have said. In the first video we fixed this stage by cutting a door in the wall so the RO could swing the door open, duck through, and not lose control or be in front of the shooter. Had to RO that stage for the next two days. MDA
  11. Should of figured you would be the first to sign-up. Of course you do know, your the Stats officer. MDA
  12. The Remington 540x are good rifles if you can find a good one and cost will very greatly ($300-$800), although a bit outdated by todays standards. Try www.targettalk.org for excellent smallbore information. There is also a buy/sell area where you may find what you need. Also contact that forum's host Pilkington Completion as they specialize in air and smallbore. Scott has gunsmithed for the USA Olympic team and Ronda is a sweetheart. Should be able to answer all you questions. MDA
  13. Miamisburg Sportsmens club, Dayton Ohio, is considering hosting an 6 stage IPSC classifier match On Sunday July 12, 2009. This is an attempt to gage interest. Match will be run under IPSC rules with Paul Hernandez as RM. Place your vote and we'll see what happens. MDA
  14. No video but, I shot a match lat year where he shot his glock without a front sight. Still out shot almost everybody there. MDA
  15. Did you order the mount for the Glock dovetail? Was the sight cut in slide the a std. glock dove tail or was it for an aftermarket sight? Check the Dim's and compare with spec's. Like all have said, mine fits tight all through on a 1911 and has two set screws. MDA
  16. Can't say for sure. Ray had them out within a few days at our last match. Scores are posted an USPSA. Congratulation go out to Adrian. USPSA's newest "A" class production Junior. Five of his stages will count and averaged 82%. Two stand outs were Payne's Pain 91% and Mini Mart 95%. Got to stop taking that boy shooting MDA
  17. No times just observations. Moving with a reload will always be slower as stated above. GM shooters will usually have the reload finished within the first step. The less reload skill a shooter has results in more steps before finishing the reload, thus slower for reasons already stated. MDA
  18. You need to either restone the hammer and sear hooks or replace with new set. MDA
  19. Kurt I have to disagree. The zone used for a ground source heat pump system does store and give off thermal energy. A heat pump system is just that, pumps heat from one location to another. In the Summer you are moving heat from the house and storing in it the ground. In the Winter you are moving heat from the ground into the house. And yes, I am a HVAC engineer. MDA
  20. Range Officer class is mostly about USPSA rules, saftey, and running shooters. Great for the newer shooter just to learn the rules even if they don't ever RO at a match. The Chief Range Officer class is mostly about stage design and setup following USPSA rule, requires you to submit 2 course of fire. You must be a RO for one year before you can recieve your CRO cert. For additional info see Rule book, USPSA and NROI website. MDA
  21. SVI!!!! Bob does good work and knows his stuff but, the feel of the SVI in IHMO is better. It's the kind of a thing you have to handle both to understand. Standard 5" will be good and can be used in Limited and limited 10. You will need at least 4 140mm mags for limited, and 6 for limited 10. You could go with shorter mags then 140mm for limited 10 and save a little, but that limits round count if you shoot limited. Holsters, mag pouchs (4 min), pick your choice as it's personal perferance as all race equipment does the same thing each just a little different. Look at CR speed, Safiraland, Ghost, Kydex, ect. MDA
  22. Well!! I shot a 5 stage match with Flex a while back. Seemed to me he was shooting a little slower than usual, then I noticed his Glock had no front sight. Still ended up on top. You still can aim with out using standard sight referances. MDA
  23. Gun is firing out of battery!!! Check to see if firing pin spring has broken and causing the pin not to retract. If not, then you are getting slam fires. There is no way you would be getting that king of case expansion if the whole case was supported. Either that or something is wrong with the barrel lockup and chamber is opening to soon. MDA
