  1. More practice and matches will solve the problem, after all you have only been shooting one year. You are basicly not comfortable will the movement involved with USPSA shooting and thinking to much while doing it. MDA

Welcome to the forums. 3gun Nationals will be in Las Vegas April 11-15, 2012. See link below for clubs in NV. NV clubs MDA
  3. While a moving weak hand grip can be sometimes be wet or oily hands, it is usually a poor grip technique not correctly locking in weak hand with gun and strong hand. MDA
  4. Was his finger on it or not. RO has to be sure it was, not I think I saw his finger on trigger, or RM will over rule call. MDA
  5. Welcome to the forum! 1. Ya, those are not unusual. Most are less then 3% error. 2. Depends, If you are the edge pressure wise or like tow heaver ones you list above. If you are not concerned about power factor for computation plus or minus a few grains will not really mater as published load data is within SAMMI specs. and there is a good margin safety factored in. 3. Does not matter the length compared to others only the weight. Base power factor on the measured weight of 157 when developing load. MDA
  6. Can't help with the age of your gun but see the following link for the history of the 2011 development. The 2011 design was introduced at the shot show in 1992 by Trip Reasearch inc. and several years later was renamed STI international. History of the 2011 development MDA
  7. Hope you got a really really good price then. Have you watch the videos on the RCBS website on reloading with the turret press? RCBS turret press reload video. Videos show loading for rifle so some of the steps can be skipped for pistol, like primer pocket cleaning and trim/debur. You will have to find and or purchase new parts to replace those missing. Press parts book. MDA
  8. Sounds like you have found the problem. You are holding to long and getting eye fatigue, as well as, how important to have the same pressure, cheek, hand ect on the rifle for each shot in each position. The rest is just mental, You are stating you always have a problem with the 3rd and 4th shoots so you are fulfilling that thought process. MDA
  9. Pushing a 140 gn bullet at 1100 FPS in a 9mm and under +P pressure will be tough to do. Additioanl information would be heplfull, like what type of gun & barrel length. A longer barrel will be make it easier as you can use a slower burning powder to get there, as well as, loading slightly longer to keep pressure down some. All powders are tempature sensitive to some extent, after all it is a chemical reaction, but the Vit. powder is more stable then most. Try VV340 at about 4.0 to 4.5 gn. MDA
  10. Could be that is what he already owns. Known and reliable. MDA
  11. Once sight pictue two tigge pulls. You are not seeing the sight pictue for the second shot just yanking the trigger. MDA
  12. While cheaper initialy you will end up spending most of you time, and much frustration, trying to get the lee presses to work properly. When you do eventualy go blue you will find out how much time you wasted. How much is you time worth? MDA
  13. The slot for the nationals is the invitation letter and they have not been sent out yet. Will most likely be in late May before they are sent to those that earned one and then you may have to get on the wait list. However the USPSA president generally has a few that he can award to foreign competitors or whoever as he sees fit. MDA
  14. Monica Your shooting is looking much smoother, better movement and shooting pace. However, you need to work on the reload keeping the gun up and in front of your face. Rewatch the videos, you are flipping the gun out to the right just above waist level. Keep it up and stright back. Watch Grandmaster Travis Tomasie in the links below. Speed reload Mark
  15. Not quite true. Still must use at least 3 belt loops, but for women they can attach belt loops at their hip level on their pants as opposed to the waist. 5.2.3.1 Female competitors may be permitted (if so authorized in Appendix D) to wear a belt, holster and allied equipment at hip level, however, the top of the belt must not be positioned below the furthest lateral point of the top of the femur (tuberosity major). MDA
  16. SD of 17 is pretty good. Factory 40 S&W ammo is not much better from the what I have chronoed. Winchester white box was around 12 and Wolf was 10. MDA
  17. Play with what you have now in single stack, learn the game and then deciede where you want to go concerning gun type\devision. Spend what you have now on the press and reloading supplies, then practice. MDA
  18. Class is filling up quickly only 17 slots left for this class. MDA

  20. Check out Saul Krish's web site. He has IPAD apps for both IPSIC and Steel challange scroing. Double Alpha IPAD apps MDA
  21. How about trying the Rudy Project website's Dealer search fuction? Rudy Project Dealer Locater MDA
  22. Looks like an old school open gun with a comp designed for the older high PF. Any of the current 38Super loads, search the reloading forum, would be a start especially ones with a slower burring powder with lots of gas, like V350 124 gr start at about 7.8 to about 8.2 should get you there. like any modern comp/shooter each has it's own like and dislikes and the only way to find what is best it to try different load combinations. The other comp an barrel you show do not go together, the barrel is cut for a cone comp and the comp you have is designed for a bull barrel. MDA

    Broken Open Gun

This was made by a top very well known gunsmith. I will be sending it back so he can make it right. Will diffently let you know who it is if he does not. MDA
  24. Got a new open gun two months ago and it has been a really sweet shooter, soft and flat, have less the 3000 through it. Tonight while shooting the comp came flying off!!!! What the F....!!!! Threads on the barrel stripped and comp threads look like there were hardly there in the first place, comp was even pinned and sheared both pins off. MDA
