  1. I have a G19 & a G17, both gen 3's, with RMR's. The only difference in dot movement to me is that I get a little bit better grip on the G17 due to the larger frame size. I shoot them both a lot, but I carry the G19 every day, so that's the one I practice with more often. Now with the X300U and TBRCI comp on the 17, it's no contest, but that's not really a fair comparison.
  2. I have thousands of rounds on my TTI extensions and have never had an issue with them.
  3. Well I've got a good selection of springs to play with now
  4. I put together a PCC, PSA upper and a Torkmag G-block conversion, about 2 months ago and haven't been too impressed with it. I tried a few different weight buffers, AR10 carbine spring, Tubb's flatwire AR10 spring, and handloads from 156PF down to 134PF, but was never really happy with it. The recoil impulse was substantially more than my .223 rifles and felt harsher than my .308 AR10. I was considering selling it, but after reading everyone's reviews of the TACCOM buffer system, I'm going to give it a shot first. Just ordered one, so we'll see how long the backorder is...
  5. I also have a M3K with a 24" barrel and an MOA +8 extension. The tube is roughly 8" past the end of the barrel, 7" past the end of the choke, and it's about 53" overall length.
  6. GlockStore has stripped OEM slides for $400. Other than that, you'd just have to watch GunBroker or something for them to pop up. LONG SLIDE GLOCK FACTORY BLANK SLIDES
  7. Yes, they announced a new version a few weeks ago that uses captured toggle pins. Not sure if they're going to be releasing any new models or if it's just an upgrade for current models though.
  8. I do the same thing. Hoping I can get my quads dialed over the winter, but I rarely mess up duals.
  9. This. The RP9 mags hold 18 in factory form because they're around 1/4" longer than the MG mags. So if TF made their new base pads based on the measurements of the MG's, the RP9's will be pushing 150mm with them.
  10. I bit on one of the 3G's as well. Was hoping to get it today, but shipping got delayed a day
  11. I've loaded three different varieties of RMR 124gr FMJ, including the JHP's, and they've all been great. Not only have the bullets worked well for me, but their customer service is awesome as well. I had one order of 1000 where someone made a mistake and shipped me 100 instead. 2 days later I had 1000 more in mailbox, so I ended up with 1100 total, no questions asked.
  12. I don't have any experience with SI barrels, but have had great performance from my Faxon 10.5" barrel. Just ordered a .308 barrel from them on Black Friday for an AR10 build.
  13. Absolutely agree with Primary Machine. I wanted some simple work on my EDC G19, just milled for an RMR and forward cocking serrations added. I sent it off on Friday and had it back the next Saturday. It arrived at their shop Tuesday morning and back out Wednesday evening. That's incredible turnaround for milling and Cerakote.
  14. Interesting that they say, "+3 capacity in 9mm (2 in .40) for 21+1 performance!" A +3 basepad on the factory mag would only be 20rds. I'd be interested in the overall length on these to see if they would still make the 140mm gauge with the RP9 mags.
  15. I just built one using an older SSA lower I had that wouldn't drop free any AR mag I've tried in it, so it had just been sitting in the safe for a while. I picked up the TorkMag G-Block a few months ago and then bought one of the PSA 16" uppers last week when they were on clearance. I shot it this weekend and had zero malfunctions over around 200 rounds. I had to lower the front block slightly because the feed ramp was making contact with the PSA bolt, but other than that it works great. I just loaded up some new loads to try out in it tomorrow to see what it really likes.
  16. I have one MG mag with Dawson Tool-less basepad that holds 20 reliably, it'll hold 21 but tends to jam the second round when loaded to 21. I also have two RP9 mags with the Arredondo performance packs (basepad, spring, and follower). They both will hold 22 max, 21 reloadable, but I just ran all my mags at 20 yesterday for consistency. My pistol would hold the RP9's in place when bench testing, but with live fire they fell out on each shot. I replaced the mag release with the Gun Craft one, without the extended button, from Dawson and all mags stay in when shooting now and drop free easily. The stock extractor was junk and I couldn't get it to work reliably. It was failing to extract almost every spent case originally and tuning it only got that number down to 5'ish out of each mag. I gave up on it and replaced it with a Wilson Combat Bulletproof extractor, which has been 100% reliable with no tuning, just dropped it in and have been running it. I replaced the craptastic front sight with a .210 tall x .100 wide fiber optic and kept the factory rear adjustable sight and that's working well for me. I replaced the recoil and mainspring with 9 & 17 pound units respectively. For the trigger work, I've just polished everything to clean it up and spent a few hours adjusting the sear spring until I liked it. I haven't tested it with a trigger pull scale, but I estimate it around 3-3.5lbs. It came out of the box at about 6.5lbs IIRC. I've smoothed out some of the edges around the rear of the grip and will probably do a little more soon. I'm also most likely going to replace the safety with a wider and less sharp one. I've had my eye on the Wilson Combat and Ed Brown safeties, but haven't got to actually touch either of them to make a decision. Since I got a great deal on this pistol and haven't really put too much money into it, I'm pretty happy with it. If I was doing it again, I probably would've just sent it off to Aaron Hayes and had him work his magic on it. His pricing for work on the Rock Island's is really good and I've heard nothing but great things from people who have sent there guns in to him.
  17. Shot my Rock Island in a match for the first time today. It ran great, with the exception of two quickly cleared malfunctions where the second round of a fully loaded magazine jammed. Downloading that magazine from 21 to 20 completely fixed the problem. Overall I was pretty happy with the gun and felt that it was on par with the G34 I've been shooting for the last year. I'm going to keep running this pistol over the winter and see what I think of it.
  18. When you say they didn't feed, what exactly was happening?
  19. My upper came in last night and I was able to get to the range for a quick 100 rounds downrange this afternoon. I was shooting my pistol load (124gr RMR FMJ flat nose, 3.8gr TG, 1.100 oal) and had zero issues. It's definitely not "soft shooting" with that load, but it shot great and grouped well at 25yds when I was zeroing it, with the exception of the ones I pulled of course.
  20. It's the Zulu from Odin Zulu 2.0 Adjustable Stock Kit
  21. I replaced yet another factory part that didn't work right and finally have a gun that runs. I replaced the the mag release with this one, Mag Release Para HiCap Serrated Steel by Gun Craft, and that fixed the issue I was having with the RP9 mags dropping out on every shot. The factory MG mag also goes in easier as well. I also trimmed the followers in the RP9 mags and they no longer lock the slide with 1-2 rounds remaining. Planning to shoot it in a local 3 Gun match this weekend and see how it goes.
  22. They're in stock at Brownell's https://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/receiver-parts/receivers/upper-receivers/ar-15-9mm-upper-receivers-m-lok-assembled-prod105910.aspx?avs|Manufacturer_1=FM%2bPRODUCTS%2bINC
