  1. If you shorten your OAL down to the 1.160---1.170" area, I would make sure to drop your powder charge as well. and work your way back up. 7.3 to 7.6 should be enough unless you have a bunch of barrel holes.
  2. Frank, From what I understand, there are two sections in Illinios. A Northern Illinois Section, that use to have some match's in Polo and maybe other locations. And an Illinois Section consisting more of Central and Southern Illinois Clubs. I don't think they have been having a Northern IL Section Match lately and I guess it has been combined into the IL Section. Anyway, is your match replacing the IL Section Match that Jim Davidson and crew had in Havana, IL this year, or are you bringing back the Northern IL Section Match? Thanks Jeff
  3. What type barrel are you using? It looks like the bullets are tumbling or bumping off the comp. Do you have any streaks inside the comp baffles. Some are almost sideways and most of them are tearing through the target. Most do not have nice clean round holes.
  4. Troy, Hang in there. I saw a caravan of Electric Trucks heading your way from the Midwest. Hope you can get things under control fairly quickly, with minimal damage and still make part of the Nats. Jeff M
  5. Always good to check the button head grip screws that hold the grip to the lower frame as well. Make sure they are tight, or some wierd things can happen.
  6. TG, I'm a BE'er "light" but will be on 4 for the L10 Open. Dark side for me, what about you. See ya there Jeff M
  7. How much of the upper A-Zone would have to be left exposed to qualify for a Non Dis-appearing Target on a clam shell or Max-Trap? How much is a portion under rule 9.9.1? Is a portion or (part) of the A-Zone enough or is the entire A-zone a portion of the upper target? 9.9.1 Moving scoring targets which present at least a portion of the highest scoring area when at rest following the completion of their designed movement, or which continuously appear and disappear, will always incur failure to shoot at and/or miss penalties.
  8. The Drazy Drop-out at Area 3 had a cannon ball on it. When activated, the ball rolled off on the right hand side of the target exposing A-zone for a short period of time. Then, the target flopped back over to the left hand side of the no shoot and stayed there. Depending on how fast you shoot and the target array, you could be waiting on it to get back if you don't plan accordingly. Depending on stage design there could be an advantage to shooting it on the first appearance. I took 4 shots after activating it and still had to wait on it's second showing.
  9. I was in the Bass Pro in St. Charles recently and didn't see any pistol reloading supplies. Lots of factory ammo and some shotgun stuff. Graffs a couple blocks north has way more stuff. But like most cities you can mail order a large order cheaper. If you need a little of this or that its handy to pick it up locally.
  10. Top Gun Indoor Range is another place to check South of St. Louis at the Interstate 55 South Exit 186 http://www.topgunss.com/ Stocks Montana Gold and other stuff for USPSA shooters.
  11. I wouldn't get all excited about getting one right away I wanted to order 2 and they are not shipping any right now. You will get an email reply as follows: "We are currently not shipping units due to impending changes in the structure of the company. I'm keeping a log of order requests (first come/first served format) and I'll notify you as soon as we resume shipping units. Thanks for you interest in the KISS Bulletfeeder TM" Hopefully they will get things rolling again pretty soon.
  12. I assume most people want the Sunday AM slot and then drive home. The Sunday PM finish just about adds another day.
  13. USPSA office said it would be a couple more weeks before mailing packets get sent out. It would be nice if something got attached to our classification record that the slot was received and being processed.
  14. I have had one tab of the spring cap break off a couple times but never both. I keep a couple spare ones now and just replace it and good to go for another year or two. Had a spring break into a couple pieces once. I never had any problems, just found the broken pieces during cleaning and replaced them.
  15. The T-4000 uses a special paster. You or your club will have to buy or supply yourself. The quick patch type uses the paster rolls you see at most match's. Its available from Shooters Connection, Target Barn, and CED Thats the one I use and would recomend.
  16. I'd use the SP-2 if you have it. I'd start around 8.5 grains with a 125 JHP Zero. My load is 9.1 grains with a 125 JHP Zero with OAL of 1.160. This will usually chrono about 170PF with my 5.4" barrel and no popple holes. Never hurts to start at 8.5 and work your way up. If you don't like the SP-2, email me and I'll take it off your hands.
  17. I like 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 with a little bit of take up and then break very crisp.
  18. I think they said it was Bill Grewe but I don't have an address. Lynn will probably chime in.
  19. Most people stay in Rolla, MO which is about 105 miles southwest of the St. Louis Airport. The range itself is another 20 miles or so west of Rolla. St Louis traffic around 270 and 44 can get pretty backed up, esp. at Rush times. But its pretty rural by the time you get half way there.
  20. I use the U die to get more case neck tension on the bullet. Was having trouble with the O.A.L. pushing in with the standard dies. I tried Dillon, RCBS, Lyman and none of them sized the neck of the case to my liking. I like a little bottleneck when the bullet is seated into the case. You know the OAL is not going to push-in. But it does make the resize operation a little harder. One-shot helps that. Jeff
  21. Its not on the same weekend. Don't you guys like to shoot two weekends in a row. Not exactly sure why you couldn't plan two weekends of shooting in a row. Sorry, read it wrong. They are on the same weekend which makes it much more difficult to shoot both.
  22. Its for 9mm or 38 supercomp, its the SV 9L breechface I ordered it special that way and have seen the 9L marking. The 38 super we were talking about is the Aftec extractor that is supposed to be used with the 9L breechface. They don't recommend using the rimless aftec with the rimless breechface because SV move's the extractor hole to begin with. Jeff
  23. Yes, it allready has the 9mm breechface. But I'll look into what Jim said too. Jeff
  24. 1st place in class only. The divisions and class's were really spread out.
