  1. Hey, I love that chronograph. It was my best stage. 165.4 Tls
  2. I'm sorry for the loss of your brother. Losing a loved one is even harder when you don't see it coming. Tls
  3. Some of the pictures from Area 6 look like they were taken on Mars. A beautiful pic of the famous Georgia red clay. Martian IPSC
  4. Haven't done any videos this year. Videos are very labor intensive and take me months to produce. I might do one or two later. I usually do a DVD for the Tennessee Sectional. We'll see. Right now I am concentrating on photos. Good action sports photography is quite a challenge and I'm working hard at it. Tony
  5. The child definately looks,..... safe.
  6. Okay, maybe he will be a little more recognizable in this one. He was definately shooting in squad 6. Tls
  7. David, No Leica, I was the guy running around with a Nikon around my neck and another on a tripod. The photos I posted don't do justice to the originals. I have to reduce them to low resolution to post on the forum. Tony L Shores
  8. As one of the match sponsors, I took more than a thousand photos last week end. I thought I might share a few of them with you. Enjoy :popcorn1: "Field of Steel" designer Peter Oliver discussing political asylum with RO Bill Munier Can someone identify this man for me? Jesse Abbate looking for her next cardboard victim on Stage 2 I don't know this guy but I love his shades Bobby McGee races through Stage 12 as my camera's life passed before it's eyes. More from Stage 2 Even more from Stage 2
  9. Well guys I have been in mourning since I finished the match on Friday. I basically just went out there and embarassed myself with the worst performance I can remember. It was pretty ugly and full of rookie mistakes. Started one stage without a mag in my gun. Inserted the Barney bullet and holstered,...... Yes, I am ready. Started another stage with my holster locked. I'm glad gross stupidity isn't illegal in Georgia, else I'd now be in the Atlanta jail. The silver lining is that you never do quite as well or quite as bad as you think. After the results were posted only 1% behind my score from last year. Sorry for the rant, I just had to vent. Tony
  10. The number one bad habit I see from other shooters is,......... beating me. Tls
  11. Wow, it's been a while since I had a Trig lesson. Careful Lynn. Tennessee already has a border war with Georgia going on. Let's not start another one with Mississippi. On the other hand, I think all the water and the GM's should rightfully belong to us. Congratulations Rodney. Tony
  12. I don't have a specific load for 200 gr bullets and N320. However, I load 5.1 of N320 with a 180 Zero JHP I would think that it would be reasonable to drop back to about 4.5 and work up. 4.7 will probably be close to major. FWIW My standard load when I started limited division was 200 gr MG over 5.5 gr N340 at 1.175" OAL Tony
  13. I am staying at the Hampton Inn. I'm sure we can get together and decide on a place for dinner on Friday after the class. Tony
  14. You might be damned just for owning one.
  15. I'm shooting on Squad 95 as well. I squaded with Manny a couple of years ago at the Florida Open. He is really smooth and a lot of fun to watch. There are some great competitors in this group and I'm definately looking forward to it. Tony
  16. This is an interesting question for me. To see someone burn down stage after stage and tank a classifier may mean they did it on purpose. It may only mean that they have fallen victim to inconsistency just as I often do. When I do move up, I want it to be because I got better across the board and I want it to be real. Therefore, I don't practice classifiers and try not to approach them them any differently than other stages at a match. Unfortunately, the truth is that I do tank a lot of them. I think that's partly because most classifiers are speed shoots and I simply tend to do better on field courses. Speed shoots are usually shorter with less points and magnify your mistakes. Pull a penalty or drop a few extra points on a 160 point field course and it will cost you. Get a mike on a speed shoot and you tanked the stage completely. Furthermore, a lot of classifiers require the use of skills we don't practice enough and don't typically see anywhere but classifiers. A good example would be weak hand / strong hand strings. I'm at a point where I just don't worry about classifiers too much. I figure once I'm good enough to win my class in major matches, I'll get bumped up anyway. If I'm not good enough to do that what is the point of moving up? Tony
  17. How about a picture of the little guy. FGO (Future Great One). Tls
  18. I went to a local match yesterday. This morning I was looking at the scores on my computer when my 6 yr. old grandson walked in. The conversation went something like this. "What are you doing Papa"? "I went to a match yesterday and I'm looking at the scores". "How does it work". "Well, you see this list of names?" "Yeah" "The closer your name is to the top the better you did. There's my name by number six. I had a pretty good day". [Moment of Silence] "How come you didn't finish number one"? "The guys I shoot with are pretty good, I just need more practice". [Another moment of silence] "So why aren't you practicing now"? "Go watch cartoons". The kid gets it. Maybe better than I do. Tony
  19. This is a tricky one. I almost always see the dot. However on really close targets I may not. Consider the Classifier "Can you Count". Those targets are almost close enough to touch with the comp. I'm not going to worry about the dot at that range. Almost always is not always so I voted no. Tony
  20. You will make it Ronnie. You're too good not to. Tony
  21. I'm really sorry for you and your family. Tls
  22. It was on Maui. I do not remember the name of the place, my son got married there. It is on the beach in Lahaina. The Old Lahaina Luau. Some nice views over the water at sunset from there. The Old Lahaina Luau. I've been there. I remember they took a whole pineapple and cored it, then filled it with a Mai Tai and stuck a straw in it. Free refills, all you can drink. Fresh pineapple and Rum.............. Yummmm. That's about the only thing I remember from that night. T Thread Drift [Off]
  23. I still like my original idea best. SLOBs (Snobbish Limited Only Blasters) First impressions are usually right. Tls
  24. I hope you are right Ronnie. I was beginning to think that once you get a B class card, you're stuck with it for life. You have been shooting well and I'm really happy for you. Tony The other Shores
