  1. Un-doable with a conventionally shouldered long gun, or un-doable with the but stock hooked in your elbow one handed with a long gun? I ask because I believe the second option is what the PCC shooters have asked for and it is roughly equal to what a pistol shooter can do, therefore the stages would remain undiluted. IMHO If we are proofing stages so they can comfortably be shot with a shouldered long gun then we have definitely gone in the wrong direction.
  2. I have to ask what is the Brass for?
  3. It's a safety encase the hammer slips while being manually cocked. Well that's whet the CZ owners manual says anyway Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  4. Here is a picture of our stand set up. The bracket on the wall fits into the pipe left that fit onto the angle iron bases. It all works together pretty well and makes for compact storage. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  5. I would stay away from metal framing, remember they WILL be getting shot. When they get shot wood is easier to fix. for the snow fence look around there are many types and I have found some heavier stuff at Home Depot that holds up really well.
  6. Excellent logic, you should redo the test at full cock, you will most likely find it passes that test as well. Then you can argue that fully cocked and safety off is just as safe. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  7. Well if you think beating on your gun with a hammer helps you convince others that you know better than IDPA, USPSA, and IPSC rules makers as well the people that made your gun, I'm out. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  8. Wow just wow, You can't fix stupid Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  9. I wonder why if half cock is so superior from a safety standpoint why tanfoglio doesn't make decockers that go to half cock but they do make them that go fully hammer down? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  10. G17 gen 4 all stock except for the trigger return spring, that is a TTI extra power. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  11. Dropped from holster height very very unlikely but yes you can get a non FPB gun to fire by hitting the hammer, think Newton's Cradle, I believe it would take a sharp blow to the hammer with a hard object (like a metal hammer) to get it to go off, I would be surprised if you could do it with any of the "competition" style hammers that have the center cut out as that would allow the hammer to deform rather than transfer all the energy applied to it.
  12. I will admit it is not always safer to be fully decocked, sometimes it is equally safe, you consistently fail to show how half cock is "safer" for all or some guns
  13. if you really want a level playing field for equipment the only way to achieve it would be to have everyone use the same gun (with no alterations), holster, mag pouches, cover garment, shoes, ect. otherwise someone will perceive that somebody has an advantage somewhere.
  14. actually I believe they probably did, they built a whole mechanism to put the SPECIFIC gun they were designing into a safe condition. The question is is that same condition safe on ALL guns? the answer to that is no. CZ doesn't make a De-cocker without a firing pin block Tanfoglio decocker guns do not stop at half cock. if you think half cock is an advantage buy one that does that.
  15. Tortured steps funny that you added several to fully decocked that are also part of half cocked that did not get in that list. I get it you will never be convinced regardless that several governing bodies and firearms manufacturers recommend doing something different than what you believe Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  16. Still not addressing the fact that on many guns half cocked is not as safe a condition as fully decocked Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  17. Yes because for a portion of the general public being given a 3 step operation to follow (hold hammer back, pull trigger, lower hammer) has less chance of error than one with more steps (hold hammer back, pull trigger, lower hammer some but not too much, release trigger, lower hammer more) but this is all getting away from the main point of the rule, that is half cock is on several firearms not as safe as fully decocked. regardless of whatever increase or decrease in the likelihood of a AD during the decocking process itself, where we will remember the gun is by rule not pointed at any body parts, it is this decocked gun that is very likely going to be pointed at someones leg or foot. you mentioned that your gun has been modified so you can apply the safety at half cock, why?
  18. For practice I guess cheep would be the driving factor. For running matches my driving factor is good perfs that are easy to score, so far the best i have found are Alco Targets.
  19. I Didn't say I couldn't do it, my argument is that it is not safer. you are basing your argument on your personal behavior, and level of skill, my argument is that most people do not posses your level of skill and are as a whole safer and better served by the rules requiring them to go to fully hammer down.
  20. For 45, neither. Clays is my (and many others) go to 45 powder Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  21. I would be willing to bet that if the rules read, as you advocate, allowing half cock on manual decock guns, there would be a large increase in the number of ADs during make ready. Shooters would become complacent and take more risks while dropping hammers because the half cock notch will catch it, right until they mess it up. the fact that the shooter is knowingly pulling the trigger on a live round with no safety and no thought of having a notch in a special place in the hammers movement there to catch it, I belive makes them be very deliberate every time.
  22. you are leaving out that while it may be possible that the act of lowering to half cock could be a safer act (I do not believe this myself but ill give it to you for arguments sake) on some guns you now have a gun in a LESS safe condition, cocked, yes not fully but absolutely still cocked, no safety, and possibly no firing pin block.
  23. that is one of many possibilities, I was also thinking we can get out to about 40yds in bay 3, that could be a bit of a chalange
  24. I really like the concept. we have 3 small bays where small targets could be a nice addition. we also have a few bigger bays where they may occasionally present a new challenge. I need to get some ordered. do I think PCC had anything to do with it? Nope I believe this has been being talked about for longer than PCC has been around. as for pasting, they will probably need to be changed more often, so plan for that.
  25. We just got my wife a LCR, great little gun, factory trigger is heavy but very very smooth. Oh and most importantly, to her, you can get it in purple.
