  1. This is an awesome resource - thanks for doing this! I think the most interesting test would be Starline in the non-Starline moons.
  2. Welp, guess the kids are headed back to Disney World.... It's actually quite possible that IRC and USPSA Revo Nationals will be close enough to each other that you could shoot both on one trip Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using Tapatalk
  3. That would be swell; I'll certainly give them a whirl before ordering anything. Hope your trip home was uneventful! Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using Tapatalk
  4. Yeah, been using the same rig for a few years. Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using Tapatalk
  5. Moon clip server and a few RSC posts, so any of the clips should work (though I get a little nervous about putting the thinner clips under tension on the server). Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using Tapatalk
  6. That's a good idea - I'll see if they can send me one of each. Similarly, moons aren't what prevent me from cracking B-class, lol. Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using Tapatalk
  7. Hey all, Finally making the jump to SC. I've been using Federal 38 Special brass up until now with the corresponding TK Custom moons; previous experience with Starline's groove tells me that I'm going to need a new set of moon clips to use their brass. TK sells the Starline-specific stainless moon clips, obviously, but they also offer blued moons that they say will fit several brands (including Starline). Has anyone tried out the latter with 38SC? Do they work well? It would be awesome to have one set that will work with both my Special and Short Colt brass. Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using Tapatalk
  8. Is there any info available yet regarding shipping ammo in for LoCap Nationals? Similarly, is there a UPS near Frostproof that we can use for return shipping? Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using Tapatalk
  9. I second everything Pat said. I didn't shoot my best but had a great time anyway!
  10. I blame all the Texans that moved here... Bristlecone is one of my favorites. I'll be there tomorrow night shooting a USPSA match (with my 6-shot ICORE L6 gun, lol).
  11. Awesome, you're smack in the middle of everything! Down this way there are a few options (though I don't think any will let you do holster work): 5280 Armory: Nice range, but the retail side is mindblowing. Literally a bunker full of fun stuff. Bristlecone Shooting: One of my two home ranges. Great people, great facility, and the tactical range has programmable returners (show/hide drills, etc). I don't know what the procedure is any more but you can get "holster qualified" to work from a draw. Shoot Indoors: A little more north (Broomfield) but again, a really nice, clean facility. Liberty Firearms Institute: Full disclaimer - I've never shot here. But it's new, shiny, and supposedly very cool, AAAAAND it sits in the same parking lot as the massive Scheel's store they opened a year or two ago (it's worth visiting). This is an hour north of Denver in Loveland/Johnstown but it's on the way to the Weld range.
  12. Nice! We'll see you there. Thanks for making it an international match .
  13. I use a quarter-zip Huk Icon fishing shirt. 30+ UPF, mesh back, and mesh from the armpits down the sleeves. It's super breathable. The only downside is that the wrist elastic isn't very tight, so I roll the wrists up a little right before I shoot.
  14. Exactly the kind of info I was looking for, thank you. PM/AM/PM seems to make more sense so I'll hop on one of those squads.
  15. So... I somehow got it into my head that I should shoot Revolver Nationals this year despite being a middling (at best) shooter. I'm registered and waiting for approval to squad. I'm a little confused about the structure of the match. It looks like you can do AM/PM/AM or PM/AM/PM squads. I assume these are exactly what they sound like? Shoot until midday and stop, or start at midday and go until the end of the day, alternating between the days. Is that about right? How does that work with the last day / closing / awards (for the people that actually need to be concerned about them, haha)? Anyone who's shot at Frostproof before - any squad preference? Or other thoughts? Thanks, all. I shot the IRC last year but this is my first time at a USPSA Level III.
  16. Oh yeah, I guess hammers would fall (teehee) under ITAR regulations. Mike, let Hogue know that you're expecting a commission. I placed an order for custom-sized, silly-big butts like yours after seeing that photo (though in a different wood). Just sent them some brass and moons so they can ensure enough clearance when reloading.
  17. Oh wow - those ARE a great deal. I'd be all over those if I didn't also shoot a 9mm revolver. As it stands, I need me some ogive for fast reloads.
  18. Mine has a thin piece of steel(?) mounted just above the forcing cone to reduce flame-cutting (I assume). Did yours not have that? I still think it's a really cool gun, but it's definitely going to play backup to my 627. That, or I'll add a dot, a laser, and a flashlight to it and be tacti-awesome.
  19. Who the hell is voting "Yes" on this stuff?! Isn't, like, 75% of ICORE's membership part of this thread?
  20. Right, but that mount replaces the rear sight (I have one of those too). I mean adding the picatinny rail to the middle of the frame and sticking the dot on that so you can retain the positioning of your irons.
  21. I have a TRR8 and a 627. I like them both. I don't know that there's a compelling reason to choose the TRR8 over the 627; I don't notice much weight difference at all when they're in-hand. That being said, I'm not nearly the caliber of shooter most people replying to this thread are, so it's entirely possible that I'm too dumb to know the difference. One very narrow advantage the TRR8 holds over the 627 is the removable top rail. If you only shoot a dot occasionally, you can bolt the rail on, add a dot, and then take it back off without losing zero on your irons. It'll be pretty darn high off the bore, but so are C-More's .
  22. 4" is the maximum barrel length for revolvers in IDPA. And yes, I do, but with .357 because I am not a smart man (and I haven't picked up a 625 yet).
  23. How does the grip on the Bersa feel compared to a STI? Obviously you transition to DA/SA but it be nice if the ergo's weren't wildly different (read: "Glock").
