  1. Hi, Daniele! I don't have any answers but I was wondering the same thing. Subbing.
  2. (note: I have no affiliation with the match other than I'm shooting it) Just got the notice that the WCRMR has been pushed back a few months: 2020 Wilson Combat Rocky Mountain Regional WCRMR IDPA Shooters, As a result of the Colorado State Covid 19 restrictions, Action Pistol Group has been forced to postpone the WCRMR to the weekend of August 22nd. Details on Practiscore have been updated. We are still planning a two day format, and hope you will able to change your schedule. If not, your match fee will be fully refunded. We apologize for the inconvenience. Scott Martin President, Action Pistol Group WCRMR AMD One of my friends had this go to his "junk" folder so I figured I'd post it here. 3. Charlie Perez? Never heard of him That's a really good video.
  4. For sure. The last super-classifier I went to was all stages with "no" reloads - if you were shooting a hi-cap gun. They were all 8-shot stages, so you're hosed if you miss with a minor gun, and completely screwed if you brought a Major gun. Like I did. Total waste of time. I've wondered a lot about that. I'm still planning to shoot the IRC this year (if it happens) so I'm sticking with wheelgun for now, but I can't shake the idea of shooting a bottomfeeder for some or all of next season to work on some of the things you mentioned. You and everyone else. I hear Idaho is actually the cool place to go now... As someone who regularly competes in both, I can say that IDPA's capacity limits and time-down scoring make shooting revo way less painful than it is in USPSA. Hell, I've won a fair amount of locals or placed first in irons (typically losing to 3 or so CO/PCC shooters). Interestingly, they don't seem to be suffering from a lack of revolver shooters to the same degree that USPSA is. I'm registered for our IDPA Regional match and USPSA state championship, which are about a month apart. IDPA has 9 revolvers in a field of 238, USPSA has 3 in a field of 256 (and two of which are Pat and myself). Sure, we're talking 3+% compared to 1% of shooters, but I think it stands to reason that USPSA being extra-painful has accelerated the dropoff in this sport.
  5. Oh, that's a nice looking shooter. I'd picked up the even-smaller version (Sig P238) and I feel like it's just a little too small. The Micro 9 looks like it hits the sweet spot. I think I'm going with a 9mm if I seriously consider BUG anyhow - way more flexibility in load development.
  6. Enjoyed reading this as much the second time through. Thanks for all the insights. I'm still toying with another division to work on some of the other elements of shooting (particularly transitions and moving in and out of positions) but revo's going to be a main one. 6-shot major lately, because life is suffering.
  7. I've been toying with making BUG my backup division (I typically shoot ESR). I was just wondering what everyone is running in terms of guns and ammo? 95 PF is hysterically low compared to what I usually shoot, but it looks like most factory .380 won't even do that. Do most folks shoot 9mm?
  8. Yeah, I didn't even like running the Super Ghost Ultimate, and that doesn't stick out nearly that far. Oh well... options, I guess?
  9. Fear the revolvers - we can run our speedy machines of destruction a full 3 and 3/8" off the belt. From: http://www.multibriefs.com/briefs/uspsa/new-rulings.pdf
  10. Yeah, it's really weird. It looks like there's plenty of meat to drill and tap, too. What sort of foregrip are you using?
  11. It's not, actually. The bottom doesn't have any mounting system.
  12. Maybe, at some point. I do want to focus on a non-revo division some of the time; not sure if it's going to be SS or something else. Weirdly, I can shoot my PX4 Storms better than almost any other gun I own...
  13. Finished this build during the beerflu - managed to get in a test fire session with it before quarantine but haven't shot it in a match yet. It's a total mutt but shoots really well. - RIA Tact II frame (Para ramp cut) - Para "Black Ops" slide, match barrel, and LPA sights - Brazos Ignition Kit - Wilson safeties - Mix of Fusion and Klonimus small parts - Klonimus grips and magwell The trigger was breaking at sub-2.5 lbs when I first put it together. That was a little light for me so I swapped the Brazos sear spring for a Wolff and re-bent it a little; it's now just north of 3 lbs and feels a lot better.
  14. Triplicate post - m'bad again!
  15. Can confirm. Pat's a beast. Can also confirm (for USPSA anyway). I represent the other end of the bell curve in Colorado, lol. I ran all last season with an 8-shot, including the CO state championship and Nationals (1st place C-Class FEAR ME!!!1!). I was shooting this season (until it died) with a 6-shot major gun since it's what I run in IDPA and ICORE. I can honestly say... 8-shot has a massive advantage. It's way too easy to drop stage points when there's speed stages with 8-shot arrays; I've managed to pull a high "C" on Tick-Tock with a 6-shot, but I'm not sure how you can run it fast enough to outscore 8-shot guns that don't have to do two extra reloads. Additionally, the advantage that major has (being able to shoot faster/sloppier) evaporates when the time you saved in splits gets lost to extra reloads. I will say that the delta between the two starts to lessen on longer field courses where better planning and movement can absorb some of the time spent reloading. The best evidence I have is that I edged Pat out at the last ICORE we shot together (I shot L, he shot L6). He's way, way better than me, but I didn't have to reload as much as him on the speed steel stages.

    PX4 .40

Again, if you wind up wanting to keep it, I'd just swap the sights for an adjustable set and dial it in.

    PX4 .40

I have one - quite delightful to shoot. What sort of .40 ammo are you running? Low hits would indicate it's sighted for something slower. I have the opposite problem; my competition loads are slow enough that I'm still hitting a bit high with a 6-o'clock hold at 13 yards. Mine has the trijicon sights if that makes any difference. You can also replace your factory sights with Beretta's adjustable target model. I have these on my 9mm PX4 - I picked them up when Beretta had crazy sales around Christmas time. Be advised that you will not be changing sights without a sight pusher, though.
  18. *looks at my VR-80* *looks at my pair of Charging Rhinos* Y'know...
  19. I guess nice guns make more consistent forum posters.
  20. Nice, I'll give that a whirl. Thanks!
  21. Did you also remove the single-action notch? Or just the spur? Looks good!
  22. So... I have a bunch of time on my hands with our (forced) break from shooting. I've been looking at my open gun and noticed how worn the grip is (it's an Extreme Shooters polymer model). Just the usual wear around the edges, scuffs, dings, etc. Has anyone found a way to clean these up? Super high-grade sandpaper, maybe? With kydex, I can rub the edges with a piece of Nomex and smooth it out from the friction, but I doubt that would work here.
  23. Oh yeah, there's one listed right now for $1k+. Looks like it has a fair amount of upgrades but I'd hope it includes auto-targeting and heat-seeking slugs at almost double MSRP. Mine's still in the box as I haven't even had time to take it apart yet. Still, it's really cool – I'll hold onto it unless they start commanding stupid money. Maybe I'll even shoot a match with it in 2020... if we have matches in 2020...
  24. LOL. Yeah, you'll literally be dumping the gun into a trash can on a frequent basis if you're 3-gunning with it... Are these hard to come by right now? My LGS had three before the world went crazy.
