  1. The Fri/Sat/Sun is already filling up with very few spots left. I think the open registration will be just for Tue/Wed/Thur days. I am looking for a slot number if anyone has a spare one. Unfortunately, there is no section coordinator in my area.
  2. How do you set up DAA racer to do bullet out? I thought only Race Master can do bullet out. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  3. Waiting to be able to order palm swell on the left side and thin flat on the right side...
  4. You meant "auto-forward"? If so, that's a desired feature and many have to file their slide stop to make that happen. Congratulations for getting it for free.
  5. Wow, that would be wonderful! For me, left side palm swell ensures great weak hand palm contact, while right side flat profile helps reduce the amount of grip rotation during reloads with my small hands. I will certainly get the mix match option.
  6. Is everyone's ShotMaxx 2 still making beep sound? My ShotMaxx 1 and its replacements all lost speaker after 2 months or so. I only used it during live fire, twice a week usually. I am considering ShotMaxx 2 but want to make sure they have good speaker.
  7. From the pictures/videos, the grip profile makes them unique. I do, however, feel that for smaller hands the palm swell is a bit too much, just be looking at the pics. The concern is the contour is too large, mainly on the right side grip, causing more rotation required to reach the mag release button. Anyway I will definitely get a pair to try when it is available. Is there any plan that PD can make sm/med/lg palm swell grips to fit different sizes of hands?
  8. If you look closely, the hammer in the catalog is a Titan hammer, not Delta hammer. In 2017 all xtremes come with Titan hammers by default. This really does not matter that much, because in EU countries Tanfoglio ships Xtreme guns based on customer requests of any available Tanfoglio parts, including any Xtreme line or Unica line parts. I have comfired this with Tanfoglio directly. What this implies is that you will see Xtreme guns equipped with Titan hammers out of factory prior to 2017, most likely from EU shooters as EAA in the US does not allow customer direct orders. 9. SSP and ESP has the same weight limit - 43 oz. I do believe 45 CAP version can be under 43 oz with the mods above. You can shoot in CDP division after buying a 45 caliber Stock 3 extreme.
  10. If 45 CAP makes weight for IDPA, does that mean the parts on a 45 CAP Stock 3 can be used on 9mm Stock 3 (except barrel) as legal parts? I think the answer is yes. That indirectly makes the extreme parts SSP legal too. This is kind like how the Shadow was legal in SSP before the 2017 rules.
  11. Wood grips - 0.45 oz (wood grips if thinned is no where close to 0.6 oz) SSI scale grips - 1.2 oz (are you sure? I used to have them and they weighed 2 oz at least, but maybe the new 2.0 version is lighter?) Saving on grips = 0.75 oz Factory ambi-safety - 0.65 oz (You say it is only 0.2 oz?) Single sided thin safety - 0.3 oz Saving on safety = 0.35 oz Factory plastic base pad - 0.15 oz Henning base pad - 0.65 oz Saving on base pad = 0.5 oz Total saving above = 1.6 oz I still think we can make 9mm Stock 3 at 43 oz. I just don't have the gun to actually do it. I wish I do.
  12. I am pretty confident that a Stock 3 9mm can make IDPA weight (<43oz). You have to use thin plastic grips (only 0.7 oz a pair), plastic guide rod, plastic factory magazine base pad and single sided thin safety (the one used on the new Stock 1). Someone posted a picture of 44.5 oz Stock 3, but that's with the SSI scale grips and double-sided fat safety. How much does a pair of SSI scale grips weigh? 2 or 3 oz? Swap that out with thin plastic grips you are at 43 oz. Change the double-sided fat safety to a single-sided thin safety, you are below 43oz.
  13. I heard that the Gray Guns trigger for Sig P320 X5 is also SSP legal now. This after-market trigger can be either straight or curved, which has a different profile than the factory trigger. I wonder if this is legal, why won't the APEX trigger for MP9s also be legal?
  14. The 2017 rules say: So the P320 X5 barrel is not considered "heavy and/or cone" style barrel, correct? Does it have a barrel bushing? If it does not, it's still not legal, unless they change the rules (again). Tanfoglio Stock 3 has a regular barrel. It is actually IDPA SSP legal as long as you can make weight. Tanfoglio Stock 2 has a bull/cone barrel and it does not have a barrel bushing. This gun is currently not legal because of the "heavy and/or cone" barrel restriction. I wish the above rule can be removed to avoid confusions in deciding which gun's bull barrel is "heavy and/or cone without a barrel bushing".
  15. Some are made thinner than others but they are avg 0.7 oz a pair.
  16. The SSI is a lot more heavier than factory grip or plastic grip. I used to have them and I compared them with my own plastics but I don't recall the exact numbers now. I know my thin plastic grips are only 0.5 oz. Can you take them off and weigh the gun without the SSI? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  17. The 2000 number is for domestic US only? If so I wonder how most Tanfoglio models can ever reach 2000...
  18. Umm... I wonder why my G34 Gen 4 does not have it? Maybe only some after certain manufacture dates?
  19. Why did P320 X5 get on Production list so quickly? Did Shadow 2 not reach the 2000 number yet?
  20. I am guessing the IDPA rule change from not allowing any bull barrels to allowing up to 4.25'' bull barrel has something to do with sponsors? Does the 4.25 inch magic number have anything to do with WC CQB Commander?
  21. I contacted Tanfoglio about their Unica and Xtreme line of replacement parts. They clarified that all those parts are USPSA and IPSC Production legal, because these parts are made and offered by Tanfoglio for "Stock 1, 2, 3, Limited Pro, Combat Sport and more". Among the list, at least Stock 1 , Combat Sport and Limited Pro are IDPA SSP legal. It is also true that in Europe, Tanfoglio ships firearms equipped with any of Tanfoglio parts (including Xtreme and Unica line of parts) based on customer requests. However, they do not do so in the USA. I hope these info could put the issue to rest. Here is an analog using Glock factory parts. I am not aware of any Glock guns out of factory with extended mag release. However, Glock does offer extended mag release as "factory part replacement". https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1004269033/glock-magazine-release-extended-glock-17-19-22-23-24-25-26-27-28-31-32-33-34-35-37-38-39-polymer-black I asked IDPA HQ before about this particular Glock extended mag release and they said it is SSP legal because it is Glock factory part, does the same thing as the original out-of-factory standard mag release. Along the same line, I believe the Tanfoglio Xtreme and Unica parts are SSP legal too.
  22. Update: I did email Tanfoglio about these Unica parts. They clarified that these parts "are offered for Stock 2, 3, Limited Pro, etc.", as the product page on their official website indicates. Tanfoglio considers these USPSA and IPSC Production legal parts. The other thing they pointed out is that Tanfoglio indeed ships Stock 2/3 or Xtreme versions of those with Unica parts upon customer demands in Europe, but not in the USA probably due to firearm importing regulations/overheads.
  23. Those are 1911 terms. My understanding is, I can be wrong, the X5 bull barrel, or Stock 2 bull barrel, works differently. I don't think they have any bushing associated.
