  1. Ok so I guess I have to be that guy. Overall score doesn't matter. Sorry I couldn't resist. That being said I'm the first guy to check the overall when the scores come up.
  2. I would go with winchester for number 2 and thats mostly because I havent really used CCI. They federal and winchester seem to always work for me. Im actually toying with the idea of switching to the winchesters all together for the smaller packaging. The federals can get a little bulky.
  3. I like palmetto state armory. If you watch them they have some pretty good sales and do free shipping. If you get the sale and the free shipping the prices are hard to beat. Depending on how much you shoot you should really consider reloading. It can be a large initial investment but it will pay off quick if you shoot a lot.
  4. I like the way the nitro fin feels. The PT is a little steep for me. End of the day quality is probably about the same, just comes down to feel.
  5. Just got my Atlas gun last week and so far I'm totally happy with it. Really like it. The fit and finish is excellent and it shoots great. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
  6. There is also a mind melting amount of data around in the reloading forums if you look around.
  7. Im using xtremes right now. A lot of guys will complain about them but they have been fine for me in my edge. I load a 180 fp xtreme head at 1.165 oal over 4.8 gr. of titegroup for a consistent 169 170 power factor. If you use a coated bullet the powder will drop dramatically. When I was using ibejis I was at 4.3 titegroup. Every gun is different tho so always work your load up.
  8. Good luck. I've had federal's on backorder for 3 months now. Nowhere to be found right now.
  9. At 1.18 you may have to up the powder a snitch but only the chrono can tell you for sure.
  10. 4.3 titegroup at 1.16 out of my edge for a pretty consistent 169 PF. What kind of gun are you using?
  11. Yeah I really don't like it either. I was afraid of all of this.
  12. Love the nitro fin, I run it in both my limited guns.
  13. I always use shock buffs as long as the gun will cycle fine with them. I actually use the aluma buffs from dawson and have been very happy with them. The way I see it is it can't hurt as long as the gun runs with them.
  14. So this whole transition phase seems to be worse than I ever imagined. I can hardly get on the forums anymore. I even tried a different browser to get away from the phishing warnings with no success. I really hope this gets resolved. Its making it really difficult to use.
  15. I've been lucky haven't got mine yet. That being said I haven't shot an open gun over it. It's def easier with the sight that far over bore to do it.
  16. How is this not what you are looking for? It is 12.5oz dressed. Because I didn't read far enough into the thread hahaha. I saw the original numbers on the complete slide and didn't keep reading to see the stripped slide numbers. Thanks for the follow up.
  17. I like the Pmags. Never had an issue with them. They just work and I'm a big fan of that.
  18. Not sure thats why I'd like to know what the DVC weighs. Im trying to get a baseline of a few different slide weights that I have shot to know about where I want to be. Im seriously thinking about have a custom gun built and I really want to have a good idea of how much metal I want to take off. I don't care about looks nearly as much as function and feel. Ill settle on the slide cuts to get a weight that I like. More than slide weight goes into it, springs and load make a big difference in the feel as well. I can tell you that a friend has two Cheelys an LDC and a sight tracker and both slides weight pretty close to the same as the DVC +- .1 oz O I know but springs etc can be tuned, slide weight is not as easily adjusted. I'm just trying to get every little bit of information and variable out of the way before I drop that coin on a custom piece. I'm of the buy once cry once mentality. I don't want to get it and not be happy and do it all over again.

  20. Pretty sure Max was registered to shoot CO at area 7 too but he ended up shooting open.
  21. I guess I didn't think that through well enough. Im interested in a CK thunder limited in 40. I don't know anybody that has one but I know a bunch of DVC's at my local club. Im trying to figure out the differences in slide weights. I found some info on the Thunder but now I realize that must have been a stripped slide because it came in at 10.6 oz if my memory serves me right. I know how the DVC shoots and I was just curious if the Thunder was comparable as far as slide weight. That link shows the DVC at 20 something. That will help tho now I can search around for the weight of a complete thunder slide. Thanks.
  22. Just found a bunch on the shelves at the cabelas in scarborough ME on Friday. Mini mags and winchester in the red plastic boxes and some other stuff too. There was plenty. Of course not as cheap as it once was but it was fair and in stock.
  23. Not really but to be honest I would be surprised if they even know. It's like pulling teeth to find out what weight springs they use in their blasters when hey leave the factory. Kinda hoping a member will drop theirs on a scale.
  24. Anybody have the actual weight of a DVC limited slide in .40. Can't seem to find it. Thanks in advance.
