  1. I have the SC bag and it's very nice. The quality of the zippers, the reinforced stitching, and the bulk of the material is very heavy duty. My only thing with it is that despite it's large size, the amount of space in the main compartment is a little underwhelming. That being said, however, if I wanted anything bigger, I dont think that exists outside of switching to a backpack. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  2. SD is the standard deviation between the velocities of your loaded rounds. A larger SD would indicate the difference in the velocity spread is larger. The idea is that 2 bullets moving at exactly the same speed will hit the target at the same place. Variations in the velocity would create differences in that point of impact. That of course is assuming that your sight picture is identical. I personally don't get all worked up over SD. This tends to matter a lot more for precision rifle shooting and maybe bullseye, but no so much for flinging lead short distances at a pretty big square. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  3. I roll the finished rounds across a table to see if I missed any split cases. Very scientific. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks everyone, this is great. That's only about an hour from where I live. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  5. I'm actually only 40 minutes from most of north Jersey, so that works. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  6. I agree and this is the way I'm going to go. Even if you add all of the options to the solution except for the metal grip, your still under 3k. I think it's an unbeatable deal. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  7. I had the same problem with my Trojan/Tripp Mags whenever I loaded 10. 9 rounds would work flawlessly. With a full 10 in those magazines, the first one dips forward right into the feed ramp, especially when the mag springs are new. I was shooting flat point 147's at that time. I ended up switching to round noses and the problem completely disappeared. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks guys. I don't care about the way it looks, I was more concerned about having to replace them more than I wanted to due to the funnels getting significantly banged up where it would affect something. Thanks. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  9. Can anyone recommend a good place to take classes or perhaps a coach who is focused on competition shooting in the Lower NY/Hudson Valley/Greater NYC areas? There are tactical/carry/defensive type classes all over the place, but I'm not really interested in any of that. I want to get better at our game. I'd trust recommendations from people on this forum far more then trying something word of mouth. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  10. Can anyone comment on the durability of the aluminum version of either the S&A or the Wilson Combat SpeedChute 1911 mag wells? I'd like to switch back to this style as I seem to prefer it over my current Dawson ICE. I previously had the steel S&A, and loved it, but I need to go aluminum to make weight. S&A claims that the aluminum version isn't good for high volume shooters, so just wanted to get some input. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks! Was wondering about this. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  12. From what I remember there were also some issues with this gun being overweight for SS right out of the box. Nothing that can't be fixed, but just something else to consider. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  13. These look really nice, but other than price, is there any reason why you would choose aluminum over steel? Just wondering. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  14. Another bump for One Shot. Takes 2 seconds and not messy at all. I needed 15 more cases to finish my run the other night and ran them through without lubing them because I was lazy. I've never done that before and couldn't believe the difference in effort.
  15. Seems that way. The SAS II Standard Limited looks like an incredibly well built gun, and for 2100 with 3 magazines, how do you beat that? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  16. It seems like they are making a big push in the US, they have been all over the USPSA facebook page for the last few months. Their base level limited gun looks nice, and at 2k, maybe it could fill the void now that the edge is gone for that division.
  17. Ah sorry. Delete the post. All the press came out yesterday and didn't look. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  18. Anyone see this yet? https://danwessonfirearms.com/product/dwx CZ / 1911 hybrid with the fit and finish of a DW built for limited. I'm intrigued. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  19. Both are equally great, however I found Sport Pistol to be cleaner (and cheaper), which is why i switched. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  20. My 9mm Trogan makes weight just fine with VZ's, Tripp mags with the Dawson Aluminum Basepads, and the ICE magwell. Still using the factory FLGR. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  21. Yeah you're right. Just a 5 inch version of the P. Cool, but I wish it had adjustable sights out of the box. That wouldn't really make sense for what they are going for with the Scaccato line though so I get that. If the 4 inch version is 2k, the new 5 inch version ain't gonna come in at that price. Oh well. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  22. This is the Staccato P though, which is their "duty" gun with a 4 inch barrel. I was thinking that they were going to release something with a 5 inch barrel and more akin to what the Edge used to be. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  23. I'm sure it's a nice pistol, is well built, and shoots great. That being said, it ain't 4k nice, and your in custom territory at that price range. If you're talking STIs, I can't see this pistol as being a thousand bucks better than a DVC 3 Gun unless you really want to grow your hair out a little and wear a black suit to your next match You can pull a CK or an Atlas off the shelf for that price. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  24. Anyone got any new dirt on this theoretical Staccato L? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  25. It's a great powder for 9mm minor and it will serve you well. I've been running my 124gn coated bullets at 4.2 grains @ 1.14 and get 135PF out of my 5 inch barrel. I also loaded quite a bit of 147's with it before switching to the 124's. The only thing with 231/HP-38 is that it's very sooty and dirty. Even after a few hundred rounds my hands would be pretty dirty and the inside of the gun would be black. It never appeared to have any effect on function even after not cleaning the gun for at least a thousand rounds or two, but worth mentioning as it was the only thing that annoyed me about it. I ended up switching to sport pistol when I ran out just because I wanted to try something new. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
