Stick to the major brands, avoid the Chinese made brands out there or knock offs. With the proprietary barrel but, it is important to have a decent brand so it doesn't loosen up or even worse break. Some of of the knockoffs out there contribute to a lot of issues

Call vortex and get an RMA. They will make it right in no time. They have the best warranty out there. Have you tested your field of view st the different magnifications to ensure it is truly defective?

My earpro had Bluetooth built in, custom sport ear hearing protection. The Bluetooth never really worked correctly and I gave up. I've shot with earbuds under my ear muffs when by myself, but I don't trust being distracted around others on the range
