  1. Yes, all of us on the Strong-Side Tactical team here in Colorado have been running them. Great hand guard.
  2. Yes, you do need to worry about it. I have experienced issues with H335 and Wolf 556 primers. I had hang fires and rounds with powder that failed to ignite with that combo. Switching to CCI BR4 (all I could find at the time) fixed the problem. I don't think the Wolf primers are as hot as you think they are. Check out this webpage that shows a comparison between the flash of several different primers. http://www.6mmbr.com/primerpix.html You will see how little flash is generated by the PMC (Wolf) primer compared to other primers. My understanding is that CCI 400s and BR4s are very similar, except the BR4 has as thicker cup.
  3. The "FTL" "Frack that's loud...."
  4. What do you need another die on the toolhead for. Should only need decapping and Trim dies I want to run a Lyman "M" die to bell the case mouth a slight bit for flat base bullets.
  5. Hmmmm, this might be the straw that breaks the 650's back........
  6. On a 550, if there is a RT1200 in station 3, is there is enough room to run a die in station 4? Thanks
  7. The biggest thing I like about them, other then the all day comfort and light weight, is that they keep the fine sand at our ranges out of my socks and toes. With other shoes, the sand would get in between my toes and rub them raw.
  8. Yes, due to the etched reticle, it is quite popular in Limited division. Most shooters prefer the DCD reticle, as the thick vertical crosshair of the Circle Plex reticle get in the way when holding over. At Shot Show this year, Vortex and Burris both announced 1x prismatic scopes. http://www.burrisoptics.com/ar1x.html http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vortex-spitfire-1x-prism-scope-with-drt-moa-reticle The Vortex has a similar reticle as the Leupold DCD, but I'm not sure I am a fan of the 1 MOA adjustments. The Burris has hold over marks for 400, 500, and 600 yards. I am very interested to try one out and see how well they work with the space between the marks for the target.
  9. Looks like you can only get the DCD reticle in the hunting version, which works much better for hold overs. That and they charge more for the "Tactical" version.......
  10. Last time I shot with James, he was still using the stock mount.
  11. I installed the Geissele 3gun trigger with JP yellow springs in mine. Works great.
  12. I vote for straight poly, l'm partial to the natural color of the wood and it makes parts and pieces easier to see.
  13. I am up to around 8 loadings, but I think that batch is reaching the end. I run all my brass though a Redding G-Rx and that batch of brass is noticeably harder to run through the die. Seems like it it has gotten work hardened.
  14. Pretty sure he means Weld.
  15. Exactly what I am thinking. If the trim die is a sizing die, why are so many guys using a FL die at station 1? This is the part I don't understand. Dog People FL size before the RT so that the expander can bring any dinged up necks back to round. This ensures that the neck is evenly trimmed. An unevenly trimmed neck will release the bullet inconsistently.
  16. I have only used the illumination on one stage so far. At the 2013 RM3G, the long range rifle stage had several steel targets set near tree/bush lines. At certain times of the day, the targets were completely in the shade. Even with backers, these targets were very hard to see and the shade made it impossible to use the black dot of the DCD for holding over. I use a 300 yard zero at this match, so my 400 yard hold has the dot sitting on top of the target. The illumination, while weak, was enough to be able to make out the dot against the shaded backdrop of the target.
  17. Ditto from Colorado........
