  3. I got less than 1k rounds out of my firing pin in my CMMG PCC. This happened during a stage at Ironman a couple years ago. Had to run to my bag to get a backup pistol to finish the stage. Luckily, I had a backup firing pin.
  4. With a FFP scope I can see that working but with SFP, does it work the same in terms of POI/POA?
  5. I'd go with a Nordic 18" barrel in 223 wylde. I have two and love them. Low recoil, even with a standard block. Also, I've always put my own uppers together with no problems using the DPMS action block. I usually torque on the lower end close to 35 ft/lbs or whenever the nut lines up with the gas tube. I haven't had accuracy nor reliability issues in 6+ rifles so I must be doing something right.
  6. I used a 16" in 2013 then switched it up to 18" in 2014. Now I'm back to a 16" using a Nordic barrel. There's slightly more felt recoil but I can swing it faster since most of the matches I shoot rarely go further than 180 yds.

  8. Nice! I'll have to try this on one of my ARs. Thanks for the tutorial.
  9. ^^ pack two shotguns. One for shot, one for slugs. You'll save a little time from reloading. If one breaks, at least you have another.
  10. I have a CMMG 9mm carbine with a geissele SD3G and it runs great. I used it the last two years at MGM Ironman and other than too much lube or a broken firing pin, it had no problems. With 125gr MG JHP, i can do 6" groups at 100 yards. With 147s, it's all over the place. I also had to add weight to the buffer tube as well as add coins to tune it. Other than that, no other tuning was required.
  11. I have a QC10 lower with a Gibbs side charging upper. Runs flawlessly. If I shoot trooper this year, I'll run it. I used a CMMG setup the last two years using a VM Hytec block and UZI mags. It ran great also! I had a Geissele SD3G trigger and cheap Bushnell 1x on it. I was quad tapping spinners and spinning them quickly. The most fun I've ever had at ANY match was when shooting my PCC at pistol targets. I recommend shooting trooper at least once. It's a blast! I might be shooting limited this year to take a little break from the 150lb load out
  12. Stages look great... So does squad 1 start at stage 1, squad 2 start at stage 2, ...etc. ?
  13. Got through to them but didn't get very far. I emailed the pics I posted above. We'll see what happens.
