  1. I am an average Limited shooter and it is the platform I am most comfortable with and have the most time on. Nothing special and not horrible is where I would rate myself (high B with some A classifications). Open is so much fun and I will be shooting it more and more. Dry fire is a daily occurrence in my household which has helped finding the dot, etc. Last Saturday I shot a 6 stage match with my 9mm Major Open gun and had a ton of fun. A few things came to mind after the match that I am pondering... 1) When I get the dot in the window I tend to shoot it like a limited gun and not nearly as fast as it is capable of 2) I shot 5 targets on one long stage and forgot to wait to see the optic. Most targets were beyond 15 feet and all were at the worst scored as Alpha Charlie. Limited instincts kick in and tend to override open shooting. 3) After the match we had a second classifier match and I shot both the open and limited guns. On only one stage did I score higher with the open gun. In summary I want to go faster and blaze it down but don't feel confident in that yet. How much of my limited background should I stick to and how much of the spray and pray side should I embrace?
  2. I have the large Shooters Connection bag and fill it very full. Then I use a cart which has way too short of a handle and the cart holds the bag, cooler, umbrella, mini chair, ammo cans, and way more stuff that I may or may not need. Saturday it was mix of rain, snow, sleet, and maybe even some hail mixed in and things are all exposed so they get wet. The upright cart bags that double as a seat are what I am looking at. Most match days I will realize 8 hours later I never sat down at all. The DAA bag/cart has a rain cover too and more space than I would need or at least at the beginning that would be the case.
  3. Are most starting with the same powder charge when they switch from 124 to 115 and then chrono and adjust from there? I will order 1k to try. Who isn't always looking for the next level/edge when shooting?
  4. If anyone is on the fence about one of these don't be. It has remained flawless and continues to make me look good. The black one is my main gun and it just melts into my hand when I hold it. Shot it last Saturday in a match in freezing conditions and it was perfect.
  5. Much better this time. The other one looked like you took it under your desk at work or something
  6. Great stipple job and even better choice on the Limcat magwell sir! Looking good!
  7. Excellent. I do have access to a good ultrasonic cleaner at work and I’ll just do that method that you have shown in your picture. Thanks again!
  8. Thanks! Is your barrel/comp pinned and welded? Just making sure the solvent won’t hurt any of that. I have the Lucas solvent already
  9. I have some build up from running coated bullets. Have since switched to JHP but would like to clean my JP comp. Any suggestions? It’s a stainless 14.5” barrel in black matte finish with a pinned and welded comp. If there is another thread on this please let me know. I searched back several pages and didn’t see any but didn’t look further.
  10. I saw you with this yesterday. I’m interested in getting something like that. I’m getting tired of the cart.
  11. I upgraded to the X from RM (PT insert) and it was fine until switched to a gun with the PT classic grip. I have the thigh pad and actually put a little lube on it and it is better. May mess with cant later.
  12. I have yet to try 115g but lots of people are saying they like them. A local buddy has some and I’ll try some out.

More info to be let loose at Shot Show. It’s looks to be full size in the video I saw but we won’t know until later on
  14. I have used cci SPP with great success.
  15. I’ve had guns with two and some with three popple holes. With the right load I couldn’t tell much difference
  16. Lots of guys run the Cheely and also @Aircooled6racer makes one as well
  17. I am at 15 yards as well
  18. I love the square trigger guards. That’s a good looking gun
  19. Limited gun yes. Typically the frame on an open gun has holes on left side already for optic mount.
  20. I agree with that. My fingers are long and reach the frame mounted ones ok. Come to think of it I have not tried a Nitro Fin on my open guns. Hmmmm, will see about that later this week.
  21. Thanks for all the info guys. I am getting my press set back up now for major and decided to just shoot limited this weekend. It is good to know there are factory options for the future.
  22. I have seen several locals use this method but it was monthly matches. Curious to know the ruling as well.
  23. I looked at my PT Evo guns last night and one of them has a very small gap and the rest don't. What Ben said above must be true and he certainly knows much more than I ever will. Matt
