  1. Its definitely not growing as fast as it used to.
  2. That’s what I see a lot of as well. I just wonder why guys take the hit on minor scoring in Limited rather than slapping a dot on their plastic gun.
  3. Read this whole thread. This is my opinion: There are some shooters that think the whole match revolves around them. That is likely a reason the rule book is 150 pages and not 30 pages. For the the most part, USPSA, IDPA, and 3 gun shooters are pretty easy to get along with. There are some folks that I don’t care to shoot with, but there are a whole lot more that I enjoy shooting with.
  4. I get the gear position thing (kinda) i shoot 3gun too. I run one of my .40 pistols with minor ammo when I shoot it. I’m usually a few rounds short in a 140, but I make due. If a guy is solely focused on shooting USPSA Limited, I really don’t know why anyone would choose to shoot minor.
  5. I was shooting a match today and noticed that we had quite a few Limited Minor shooters. One guy on my squad was shooting a G17 and another was shooting an X5 Legion. Both of them are fairly experienced shooters. I don’t understand why anyone would shoot a minor gun in limited since we have CO as a large, growing division. Thoughts? How does the Major/Minor split in Limited look in your part of the world? Is there a good reason to shoot Limited Minor at all, when a guy has a CO legal gun?
  6. Worth a phone call I reckon. I’ll give em a shout tomorrow
  7. Put it this way: i had to send in my first FF3 at roughly 3500 rounds. I never messed with the mount when I put the new sight on.
  8. Yep. IIRC I used a Burris mount. I know I was running a FF3. It should also also be known that I don’t skimp on lock tite. I suppose a milled slide would be “better” as far as the optic being above one’s hand, but I think it still sits closer than a 320 x5 or a CZ.
  9. Put around 5000 rounds through a 17 with a dovetail mount. Never had a problem with it and made A class in CO pretty easy.
  10. Dawson is hands down my favorite, for the simple fact that they’re the easiest to take apart to clean. I ran the magpul 21 rounders and the ETS 22s in CO with a G17. Never had a problem with the pmags
  11. I’ve messed with a BUNCH of triggers over the years, although never a JG. I messed with an IDPA legal DK this weekend and it was pretty good, but still had a lot of travel. My favorite setup so far so far has been the TTI GM kit and an over travel stop. Total cost on the last g17 I did was $65 including shipping. I put an Edge in it and didn’t feel like I got anything but an over travel stop when compared to a competition spring kit and minus connector. Best set advice I can give is to go talk to guys at a match and ask to try the trigger in the safe area. Mess with all of them you can ad decide what YOU like. Maybe you like a good wall. Maybe you like a rolling break. There’s really no way to know unless you try them. Lastly, realize it’s always going to be a Glock.
  12. Didn’t see a conversion on kkm’s website. I saw that Bar Sto makes one... to the tune of $240.... no thanks.
  13. You are correct in that statement. But don’t post a pic of a gun that is not CO legal as a CO gun . All the rules on the “regulated” or “factory” are SUPER arbitrary. IMO they should be: Gun must fit in box xyz dimensions (with optic cutout like idpa), gun must not weigh more than 59oz (or whatever arbitrary weight they pic).... and other than that stick with production rules. Maybe IPSC modified was the best idea that has happened to practical shooting divisions.
  14. IDK... comps and ported barrels are illegal in production (from which CO guns are derived) and they have been available for a whole lotta years on factory guns. One of my first carry guns was a G23C.... but that’s not legal for production.
  15. Open. No magwells in CO
  16. Are there any manufacturers that google isn’t pulling up that make this barrel? From what I’m seeing, storm lake only makes 4.5” barrels, and dragon fire is all out of stock. Any ideas??
  17. What’s the go-to budget 3 gun shotgun these days?
  18. I’ve said from the start that external weights should be allowed.
  19. I doubt it. Production has been around a long time and 1911s still aren’t allowed.
  20. Kinda like “round ball” in the muzzleloader world.... it’s a bit redundant haha OP, I haven’t had any trouble with RN, TC, or RNFP feeding in a .40 as long as the OAL is correct.
  21. A split case or really loose primer pocket is my indicator. I have never purchased .40 brass—it’s all range pickup. So who knows?!?
  22. I would be willing to bet you can find a g22 police trade in or a 35 pretty cheap. When I’ve looked into top ends, I’m usually within $100 of a full Glock, so I’d say just get a whole gun. As far as the Glock for a limited gun goes, I think you’d be just fine with it. Add Good sights, some trigger work (I like the TTI GM kit and an overtravel stop), a magwell and a frame weight if you want it, and get to shooting.
  23. I thought this forum was about opinions on USPSA shooting. My apologies that mine does not align with yours.
