  1. So is the consensus based on what parts in my previous post, is it still worth getting in your opinion? I know Twinkie's is no but haven't seen any responses after I typed what components I currently have in my tanfoglio. Thanks for the responses so far.
  2. Thanks for the replies. I have the henning flat trigger, henning hammer and EGW hard sear. If I do get a BOLO, will I be able to fit it to what I currently have or do I need to get the titan hammer and xtreme sear? I don't mind fitting as I've fit quite a few sears before.
  3. I read the thread on the BOLO which most people were using to improve the DA and SA of tanfoglios. I believe someone asked about the improvement on SAO tanfoglios and I didn't see a reply so thought I'd ask again. Is it worth it to get a BOLO interruptor for single action only tanfoglios? I have an elite limited if it matters.
  4. Here's what I've ordered so far for my build: - 2A balios lite upper and lower (gen 1 to save $) - stretch 16 melonite/fluted barrel w/ gas block and tube - 2A new release titanium adjustable gas BCG - 2a balios 15" keymod rail (gen 1 to save money) - 2a titanium takedown pins -hiperfire 24c trigger - either MFT minimalist or carbine/short ace skeleton stock - raptor charging handle - either JP SCS or taccom ulw buffer/spring
  5. The "Infinity Firearms" facebook group has posted some of their recent build the past couple of days which use the new grips.
  6. One issue you may have is removing the crush washer. You might have to cut it off.
  7. I just checked mine and they do lock back with the grams follower/spring in the springer precision base pad. Again, they hold 23, reloadable.
  8. Same for me as well. I'll need to check if they lock back though. Last I remember they did. I'll update if they do.
  9. I'd say go and try the new spring yourself. Adjust them so they all at least touch (leave the grip safety off for this so you can see it). Then tune the middle spring to at least give you 8oz before the trigger starts to move. This will ensure you don't get hammer follow from trigger bounce. Then after that tune the left spring that's on the sear to get you to your final pull weight. Assuming you're hammer/sear are good, you should have no problem tuning to a reliable 2lb. I recommend dropping the slide via slingshot/slide stop on an empty chamber a couple times to make sure it doesn't hammer follow. Obviously don't do this many times as it may cause damage as mentioned above but if the hammer doesn't fall in this situation, then you can feel good about the hammer not following when you do have a loaded magazine in the gun.
  10. I like a small fiber optic either green or red. Worst case the fiber falls/breaks out and you're left with a black front sight. Definitely easy to try and won't cost you that much if you try it, don't like it and sell it.
  11. I figured out what was making it stick. The disconnector portion that sandwiches between the trigger bow and reset spring was sanded/polished fairly thin and it caused the entire disconnector to require travel further back to push the sear enough. Unfortunately to get it to travel that far back meant the disconnector was being pushed tight against the pin that holds the sear and disconnector in tthe frame. I put in a new disconnector and ended up taking a little material off on the inner front wall of the disconnector that the pin goes through just to ensure a little extra clearance.
  12. Interesting. Never thought about the hammer strut. It didn't seem to be any shorter than the other hammer strut on my other SVI and the hammer stays fully "closed" with the slide off unlike my STI which has play but no no issues. I've got a disconnector in order and I'll see if that solves it. I'll look at my hammer strut also.
  13. I have. I'll check those again. Any ideas on how to clean the hole good in the frame the disconnector passes through?
  14. If I turn the overtravel screw out half a turn past where the half cock clears the sear, the disconnector gets trapped between the trigger bow and leaf spring after releasing the hammer on trigger pull. When I go to release the trigger I hear and feel an initial click. That click is the disconnector freeing up from the bow and leaf spring and. In all my other 1911/2011 this happens after the slide returns to battery even with max over travel. It basically feels like a reset when it's not so I have two resets. Ignition parts are all SVI if it matters. I took it apart and cleaned all the mating parts (trigger bow, disconnector, leaf spring). Thoughts?
  15. Sounds awesome. I'm sure you got a good deal on it. Estate sale or something?
  16. Did yours have the accurails like the ad says?
  17. RIA definitely. Looking at it from a utility perspective the laws of diminishing returns apply to firearms greatly. Most would agree that a RIA is a great bang for the buck when shopping for a high cap 1911/2011 style pistol. RIA reliability out of the box is great for the price and finish is good for the price. SVI finish is average for the price but the price is 7x or greater than the RIA. The absolute finish between the SVI and RIA are in entirely different universes. In my opinion, If all you care about are scores in competing (disclaimer: I've only competed 3 gun), then a RIA will not be holding you back until you are in the upper echelon. If you want to shoot something nicer and enjoy nicer things and can afford it then look at S_I or any of the custom guns. Resale wise - if the RIA drops 40% from a new gun, who cares, you're out only a $200-$300. STI, you'll definitely lose more than $300 if you resale it from what you bought new. SVI, you'll be able to recover most if not make some money on it due to their continously increasing base price and the 15+ month wait time.
  18. Old post I know.... I don't think a longer barrel is more accurate, at least this is how it is with rifles. Less barrel whip on shorter barrels. I'm assuming we don't care about sight radius especially since we are talking optics.
  19. How about canik tp9 sfx? I believe it's in the list now. Only issue is the 15 round mag requirement.
  20. Oh yeah. Guess I don't need an entire top end. Still need to find a way to get the barrel.
  21. I've got a 5" and 5.4" sight tracker. I haven't shot them enough to feel a definite advantage over my non sight tracker 2011 but I think it looks cool and I feel more confident shooting them.
